How would you feel, fighting for your life through a hurricane, overcoming the stress of arriving and still not have a safe, loving home to relax and gain the confidence you need to thrive. Well that is what has happened to sweet Darla from Hurricane Harvey. She has not been given a chance due to timing, bad circumstances, unfortunate initial foster! Darla has been given that chance now finally and is thriving.  She is a beautiful 6 year old shepherd mix.  She is very shy at first, but once she warms up, she will be your shadow as she waits for cuddles and belly rubs. She gets along with cats, even the grumpy ones who don’t really like to be bothered. She knows sit, stay, leave it, lay down, eat, and come. She will wait patiently by the door until instructed to go inside...or outside...  If you’re looking for a loyal companion to be your new partner in cuddle crime, this is your girl! She is up to date with her shots as well as spayed.  Darla is estimated to be about 6 years old, weighs about 50 pounds.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $250 and dogs over 12 months is $150. Meet Foster Little Dewers! 🥰 He is doing great after his HW treatment and ready for his fur-ever home. He is neutered. This little 10lb ish boy is super super sweet. He plays well with older puppies and older dogs. ( I don’t know about cats as we do not have any).  Dewers is a well behaved boy. He sits and he comes when he is called.  His happy pleasures are: sitting in the sun, chasing squirrels and beetle hunting , and rocking in the lap of his favorite people. We believe he is about 4 plus years old.  Poor little boy must have had a rough beginning as there is a small bite on his left ear. He is such a fun and cute little boy, that you don’t pay attention to it. He loves to sleep in a lap or right next to humans. He is crate trained, but he does love to sleep all day near a sunny window or on a human bed. He chews and plays well with toys and sticks. I have not seen him chew on furniture. He is a really good and well behaved pup. Dewers is a sweet male terrier mix.  He is all healthy and ready for his bright future. Loves to play, snuggle and goof around.   All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100. Hi, I’m Dylan! Boy, have I got a story... Some really great hoomans found me in another hooman's back yard in south Texas. I was really-really-REALLY scared and did not want to be caught. My eye hurt super-bad and my hair was matted against my skin. I hurt so bad! The hoomans couldn't save my eye so they had to remove it and they shaved me down to the skin. They neutered me at the same time - I was hurting everywhere! Those darn hoomans! A few weeks after I was found they sent me north to Dallas where I went to stay with my foster momma. I was so terrified of hoomans and all this change I didn't want to come out of my crate even though there were other friendly little doggies in the house... I stayed in there for 3 weeks I was so scared!! And that foster hooman kept wanting to touch me! I wouldn't let her. I did everything I could to hide from her even though she was giving me yummy food and treats. If she did make contact I would just shake in fear.  It took almost 4 months for me to venture out of my crate and socialize with the other little doggies... and once I did, boy oh boy!! There's a whole new world out there! I learned how to play with toys (doesn't matter if you have 2 legs or 4!), chase my doggie brothers (it's no different with one eye - i can run and tackle with the best of them!), figure out a double flap doggy door and ask for hooman lovin's!!! OMG! It's soooo gooooood!!  I'm looking for a very special hooman as I'm a special little guy. My furever home must have other dogs for me to play with and the hoomans need to understand I'm scared of the big wide world outside the front door. I need a furever who will continue to work with me on (not being scared of) being picked up and teach me leash skills (I'll admit I'm limited) so one day I can venture out the front door to explore the world. This sweet senior, who was yet another owner surrender to a kill shelter in S. Texas, continues to defy the odds! She's undergone treatment to remove that large hairball that we originally thought was a tumor. She's also fought off two tick borne illnesses just in the past month that we've gotten her into our rescue. And to top it off, is starting to grow back some hair after treating her for flea infestation. She's a fighter and she's enjoying a nice, comfy life with her foster. If you've got a soft spot for seniors, and want to help this lady enjoy her golden years, consider Edith. This little senior is feeling so much better, with some medical care and good safe warm home she is feeling great, even a little sass starting to show! All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. Her eyes are so soulful. Elliott is looking for the perfect family to see past her muscle tic (from distemper) and allow her time to warm. Elliott is a beautiful, smart, sweet pup.  She will be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog to pamper and understand her fight.  She takes a little extra time to connect and build that bond but once you do it will be well worth the wait.  She needs that special time with other dogs as well. She was found as a stray in South Texas without her mommy or any siblings.  Shortly after she got here she came down with parvo, sweet girl fought hard and made it through this deadly disease. Then had to fight distemper and was left with a little twitch but other then that she is sweet and loveable.   She's enjoying life with her foster brothers and sisters and quickly found her voice!  She plays hard and naps hard!  Great with other pups, large and small.  Not sure about cats, they're alien to her right now.  Is a real cuddle-bug and is overflowing with kisses! She is estimated to be a year old and weighs 35 pounds dated (1-30-2018) All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Emerald is doing so good!  She is eager to want to play with other dogs. She greets you with lots of kisses and is a HUGE snuggle bug!  She gets a little anxious when you leave but with some cool treats she is learning to adapt quickly and learning that you always come back for her. She is fantastic on a leash!! We encountered some dogs, cars and people on golf carts WITH their dogs, ears perked up and kept walking like nothing was there. She stopped when I stopped, never pulled and seriously didn’t react to anything. Emerald (Emmy for short) is a beaut and a perfect lady.  She is looking so good, her fur and skin are healthy and coming in beautifully.  She is such a sweet girl.  It is her time to get all the love and attention now that her babies have found their homes.  If you have it in your heart to share your home with this sweet girl, she will be so grateful.
