Meet Brownie B Bear! I can’t express just how sweet this dog is. He stepped thru the door last night and INSTANTLY won over all the pups AND my wife! He is also the most grateful pup I’ve ever met. I don’t know how to put it into words really BUT just watching him walk around the back yard, it’s like he can’t believe all of this is his (and it ain't much!). Last night as we went to bed, he found a wet towel and thought he was in heaven and going to use that to cushion himself. He couldn’t comprehend a dog bed. It took three times for him to stay. He melted in and never moved. I think he thinks this is all a cruel hoax of some sort. His tail has never stopped wagging. I say all of that, to say this. Thank you. He truly deserves this. Brownie Boy is one of several pups who were lucky enough to be rescued from Puerto Rico and make it to the mainland in hopes of finding a furever home of safety and comfort. He needed immediate medical attention upon arrival, appeared to have been attacked and was injured. He has no teeth to fend for himself. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Meet Cain... found in the graveyard sleeping on a tomb for the 3 weeks in Puerto Rico. The yard keeper called animal control on him which would have taken and euthanized him right away. Cain seems to have been a service dog to someone who passed. He rode in the car with no slip lead or crate for over two hours to get to his foster when found with no incident. Poor guy was sleeping on a tomb nightly for 3 weeks and would disappear in the day time until it was time to go to sleep. We had a trainer assess Cain he stated he thought for sure he was trained as a service dog. He is no more than 2 yrs old, a cuddler and super mellow. We contacted the municipality to see if anyone was looking for him, the people in the town know each other very well and stated no one has been looking. At this point his owner may have been the one in the tomb. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. This guy is enjoying life now; he's feeling so much better now that he got the medical care he needed. Unfortunately the leg did need to be amputated. But this boy is so happy he loves his comfy dog beds, the fresh grass to roll and run in. Lots of love. Life cant get much better for this guy. He's looking forward to finding a furever home where he can keep this going. Cano weighs around 40 pounds and is around 3 years old. Hurricane survivor in Puerto Rico and left to fend for himself all this time. No promise of food, water or shelter. After weathering the storm, there was not much chance for this guy as the country was in a disaster zone. So much need everywhere that this dog was not even a second thought. But he was in desperate need of care, food, love, water. One of our fosters has taken the challenge of caring for this guy until he is healthy enough to come home. He has a limp that will need to get evaluated to determine best course of action to allieviate the pain. Cano rolled over for belly rubs and got a new bed. Not sure he ever had one. He had no idea what to do with it. But we do know he will get used to this love and affection real quick. We look forward to helping get this guy the home he deserves. Fluffy Princess. This girl has overcome her past and is healthy and beautiful. Dogs are notoriously devoted...loyal...and provide us with unconditional love. But sometimes that's repayed by being labeled "UNWANTED". It's hard to imagine being so heartless as to dump "man's best friend" and even more difficult to think of how Claire Bear must've felt as her owner walked away. Did they know that she would pace the floors wondering when they would back? Did they know? We're commited to showing Claire that there's a loving and kind family that is worth her love and devotion and that she'll never be label "unwanted" again. Claire Bear is a senior pup, weighs 14 pounds. I have been fostering little Claire Bear and she has done fabulous since coming here. She had a laundry list of medical conditions that have been addressed and mostly resolved with the exception of HW treatment. She's a peppy girl and you would never know she's over 10 if you saw her running from afar.
