Traveler is his name and it is very fitting. This handsome boy has been on the loose for 18 months making his way through Dallas. His traveling days are now behind him. He is a shy boy at first but has warmed up very quickly and is very sweet. Poor Traveler was found homeless trying to make himself save and comfortable in the closest thing he thought was home...a box on someone's back porch that didn't want to have anything to do with him. From what we understand he has been seen roaming the streets of South Dallas for over a year. They would run him off but he would come back to the same box to sleep in. Knowing he was desperate for a loving home we rescued him in hopes we can find him that! All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. Hey there, I’m Valentine! I’m approximately 3 years old and weigh 70 pounds. This sweet girl came from South Texas. She came to us abused and severely neglected. You could see every bone in her body and she winced at every movement you made. Shortly after she got settled in at her foster home, she got really sick. She suffered from an intussusception and was rushed into an emergency surgery we feared she wouldn’t make it out of.. but she did! When they did her blood work, they discovered that her liver was not functioning correctly, so we began treating that. For months her foster nursed her back to health and helped her gain weight, strength, and confidence. She even got adopted!! However, her battle wasn’t over yet, she still needed surgery to correct her liver shunt. She got her surgery in October, and she is healing well! She has been through so much, and she deserves the best life. Sadly, the family who adopted her are giving up on her and returning her to us. She a great girl, but they don’t think they can keep up with her medication with their busy schedule. It breaks our hearts. She is a great dog and really easy, and while she is timid at first, once she warms up the derpy-ness and love comes pouring out of her. She needs a home with someone who can give her her medication every 8 hours. Valentine is great with other pups, playful and gentle and doesn’t bother her foster sibling kitty. We do know Valentine was an owner surrender and was scared to death with all the loud noises of the shelter. Poor girl arrived in the shelter very sick and unable to keep food down, she had what we initially thought was an obstruction in her intestine. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Veronica aka Lady is the sweetest girl! For everything her past contained, her ability to love is astonishing. Lady loves to go for walks and will happily run to the front door to let you know she is ready to go. She also runs to the back door when she needs out to potty. She is one smart cookie! She is a pro at sit, down, leave it, wait. She loves to work for treats! Lady has spent quite some time working with a DogRRR trainer. She is working through some resource guarding issues, but with time and a patient adopter she will absolutely florish. She would be best as an only dog at this time. Lady has a love affair with toys, bones and anything she can chew. She likes to "hide" them in her bed under the covers she borrows in. An experienced adopter would be an absolute plus for her to help reinforce all of her training and show her that she will never be starved again. But have no fear a not so experienced adopter who is willing to train with her can also benefit her greatly. She would love nothing more than to have your undivided attention and all the loves and snuggles you can possibly give! She does well with older kids, and didnt mind her foster family's cats. She is an absolute doll who deserves a lifetime of spoiled only puphood! Veronica was found emaciated, severly malnourished and pitiful looking in a shelter, she had about given up any hope she had for a happy life. Until DallasDogRRR saw her and brought her back to life. She looks great now, healthy and happy! She definitely needs a yard to play in she is one happy girl. The more we get to know her we realize what a wonderful dog she is, she seeks out the young male child in the household so we think she would be perfect for a kind, patient male adopter. Either adult or teenager who will treat her like the queen she is! For more information, please email us at adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.
