Admiral has been in our rescue since March of 2019. He is a 4 year old catahoula/pitbull mix and weighs about 55/60 lbs. Admiral is both deaf and blind; however, he does not let those factors define him! He is just a normal dog - he’s playful, smart, cuddly, loves humans and other dogs, doesn’t care about cats, and just wants to be close to his humans. Admiral would do best in a home where someone can dedicate the time to spend with him to allow him to be acclimated to his new environment, help him re-adjust and get on a normal schedule. Someone who has experience with blind and/or deaf dogs would be a plus, but honestly not required because he is so low-maintenance! He would also do best in a home with no little children, or children who are 10 or older. NOT because he doesn’t like kids, but just because since he is deaf and blind, he can sometimes be easily startled by the tiny humans. Admiral loves to be outside in the fresh air, he will play and run around for hours! He also loves being inside curled up on the couch, or his bed, with his favorite stuffed animal toy. This boy can sleep for hours and hours! He is also potty trained! All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $325 + 8.25% tax =  $351.81, for dogs over 12 months the adoption fee is $225 + 8.25% tax = $243.66 and for our senior dogs 8 years and up is $100 + 8.25% tax = $108.25; this increase includes sales tax recently required by the State of Texas to collect.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.   For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.  Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.  show less

This truly is the sweetest dog ever.  We have named her Angelic-Grace! The shelter called and said they had an animal cruelty case and would I consider opening intake.  What we know is she was picked up by animal control emaciated, barely able to stand and cold as ice her temperature was so low it would not read on the thermometer! Once she arrived at shelter she collapsed and her temperature read too low to read (90.1). Once she got to the ER she was 94.1 normal for a dog is 101.5!  She was so hungry; she is being given small feedings many times throughout the day She is super sweet and just wants to curl up in your lap!  She is 3 years old and when brought in 33 pounds. Annie is a fireball when she comes out of her run at the boarding facility. A spitfire full of energy, jumping for joy and enjoying the attention. Give her about 15 minutes and she settles down, looks around, enjoys the view and leans in for a hug. She is a young red Heeler, smart, trainable and looking for love. Annie needs a foster to help her control her young dog enthusiasm and get her ready for a fur-ever home.  Found dumped in a field in South Texas, she is so sweet and adorable.  Around 1 year old, 35 pounds.  She is high spirited...she has that 'love me, pet me, play with me' spirit.  High energy yet just as sweet as can be. Audelia is about 2 years old.  After coming to the rescue, we learned she was pregnant.  Her puppies have all found great homes, so she is ready for her new home. Audelia is a happy, affectionate dog who LOVES being with her person.  She’s a bit shy at first but warms up to you real quick.  She loves treats and zoomies in the backyard with her foster brother. Audelia has been in a foster home with a large dog and a small dog.  We don’t know how she will do with cats or kids. She uses puppy pads and good about going outside.  She does well on a leash. She does fine with the other dogs unless she’s sitting in foster Mom’s lap and they want her attention so we’re working on that..she wants all the attention as she is making up for lost time!  Did I mention that she LOVES to be with her person?  Sometimes she takes a mouthful of her dinner and jumps up on the chair with you to eat it, then goes back for more! She follows you everywhere and will even sit on your feet if you stand in one place long enough.  When she is home alone, she shares a room with one of her friends (Pearl) who is from the same hoarding situation.  They may be adopted separately. One of nearly 30 dogs seized from a residence that was about to be charged with housing too many animals in one home.  These are adorable dogs, just need some individualized attention to realize humans want to love and pamper them. show less

Gorgeous male husky roughly around 1-2 yrs old. He has been neutered. Knows how to sit, stay, shake and sometimes lay down. He’s dog and kid friendly. This poor dog was lost then found then got away from finder then found and given back to original finder then lost again and had a chip but it’s been 3 weeks and original owner did not respond to microchip company so finder gave away. The new owners adore him but he is so big and playful he scares their small kids and they have 2 other dogs. They think he’s perfect and adore him but just not for their home.  He does great inside the home.  We hope someone will give him the love that he deserves!!! Bambi is a sweet snuggle bug.  She just wants to be by her hooman all the time! This beautiful momma was left behind not once she was left behind twice!  She was an owner surrender with her puppies the owner knew there was a chance she could be euthanized but they left her anyway.  Then a rescue came in and rescued her puppies and left her behind.  Then a litter of husky puppies came in the shelter and they used her to nurse them and mom was once again left behind when another rescue took them. She was a code red mama dog with no puppies.  She didn't deserve to be left behind that many times.  We have named her Bambi and intend on making sure her new smile never leaves!  She is a sweet girl and exudes happiness now that she is free. Although she can be a little shy at first, Bambi LOVES PEOPLE despite all she has been through.  After proper intros, she is WONDERFUL with LITTLE DOGS and puppies. Perhaps they are a happy reminder of all the puppies she had taken from her 😕.  She is great in her kennel, loves snuggles and also playtime. Our resident trainer just ADORES her and would gladly help set up an adopter for success with Bambi. Look how hunky and handsome I am! This boy is the absolute sweetest.  He lives for face scratches...and food!  He was extremely underweight but is now a healthy weight at 80 pounds.  His skin and coat are gorgeous, and his low back/hips seem to be feeling better because he is playing and can now get up on the couch.  He just wants love and attention...and a comfortable place to rest his head.  He has such an easy going temperment.  Loves his daily walks and good meeting new people on his walks. Dog friendly (with medium to large dogs), people friendly, kid friendly, house trained, crate trained.  He's a little 'too interested' in cats and small dogs. Barber is a sweet eight-year-old Rottweiler mix that came into a local shelter as a stray on 10/15. Just look into his eyes and you could tell he was sad and longing for a good home. Barber had some hair loss down the the center of his back and his tail. He is slightly arthritic in his back legs. Judging from the calluses on his elbows he has probably spent most of his life outside. This sweet, sweet senior needed out of the shelter and on to a better life than he’s obviously known thus far. I absolutely fell in love with this precious boy and I know you will too. He is very calm and gentle and chooses to stay close to his human friend. He is very loving. He gives kisses. He sits for treats. He wants to please. Barber is waiting to go home with you. Baxler is really starting to come out of his shell and showing his fun, playful and loving personality. He has been doing very well with the foster dogs and kids. He take a minute to warm up but give this boy a a few minutes and he will give you a lifetime of love! Baxter and Oso along with 2 sisters were dumped at a local shelter. One sister was adopted and the other gave birth to a litter of puppies and sent to a rescue. With the two boys being left behind scared and unsure not knowing what their fate would be. Lucky for them some Dallas DogRRR's were volunteering some time at the shelter and saw them for the special boys they can be. Terrified and peeing at the slightest touch, crying out in pain from a simple stroke on their back. They needed out NOW! Thanks to some wonderful fosters, they are now safe and protected and on their way to living their best life! 💗💗 Here she is! Our sweet Bella Bean! Guaranteed to warm a lap on even the coldest of  days.  Apparently her sweetness and snuggles wasn’t enough for the “owner” who dumped her in a kill shelter at the ripe age of 8.  Rejected after providing a lifetime of love when she needed love and care the most. Bella Beans has a wonderful temperament and is in a foster home with dogs of all ages and sizes and does great with all of them. She is all about that LAP DOG LIFE! She does needs a special adopter. You see, this pretty girl is also diabetic, which is most likely why she was surrendered to the shelter.  Since coming to Dallas Dog, her health is much improved and her diabetes is under control.  After all Bella has been through, we want to make sure we find her that perfect adopter who will not only LOVE Bella but will also be comfortable with keeping her diabetes in check.  We at Dallas Dog know there is a community out there with a BIG HEART for diabetic dogs! We need members of this community to be HEROES for Bella!  She is so deserving of spending her golden years being loved on and cuddled, it’s really all she asks for.💗💗 All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Thank you for your interest in adopting a Dallas DogRRR. show less
