Shelter Description

Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal-loving volunteers who support the abandoned dogs of Dallas, Texas, by collecting supplies, paying vet bills, locating foster families, facilitating adoptions, and advocating for a more hopeful future. We are often seen even in the trenches of SE Dallas searching for and rescuing forgotten dogs. We have no administrative fees; no one is on payroll. Every single cent that is donated goes directly to paying for vet bills and food/supplies for our rescued dogs, as well as for boarding (for those that don’t have fosters). We are simply a group of volunteers motivated by the inspiring rescue stories that we get to be a part of every day! Interested in joining us on our adventures? We have so many ways for you to get involved.

Look at that SMILE! She is looking FANTASTIC! Her blood work looks AMAZING! She is finally feeling SAFE and SECURE!  While this sweet girl has had a horrific life thus far, she is being pampered now!  You can begin to see the smile emerge and the light in her eyes and we couldn't be happier knowing she is comfortable and safe.  While her skin is raw and slightly infected; you know she feels 100% better. She is doing well and a true sweetheart❤️.  Her fur is already starting to grow in. Amora was struggling to survive on the streets of Texas. She was so severely neglected that she was on the verge of death. She wandered onto a stranger's yard who called us for help! She was covered head to toe in blood sucking ticks. So many ticks that there were parts of her body you couldn’t even see. That includes her ears, chest, back, and paws. She was so anemic that she could barely stand. We rushed her to the vet where she received life saving care and blood transfusion. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. Autumn, saved in the nick of time.  Sweet little one was in loud kennel by herself about to give birth to 10 puppies.  When a saint came along to bring her home to the peace and quiet of their home for her to have her babies.  Puppies were born on October 16, 2017.  Momma took good care of her babies and all have been adopted and living the high life.  Autumn is ready to find her furever home now.  She is very sweet and calm.  She is a bit shy at first, it takes her a little time to warm up to her surrounding, we are thinking she had a pretty rough life up to her arrival in the shelter.  But with your patience and love, in turn you will get a loyal and loving companion. Autumn is around 4 years old and 45 pounds.  She is so sweet and has learned how to become a dog and enjoy life now with the comforts of a good home. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Look how hunky and handsome I am! This boy is the absolute sweetest.  He lives for face scratches...and food!  He was extremely underweight but has been steadily gaining weight.  His skin is improving, and his low back/hips seem to be feeling better because he is attempting to play and can now get up on the couch.  He just wants love and attention...and a comfortable place to rest his head. Dog friendly (with medium to large dogs), people friendly, kid friendly, house trained, crate trained.  He's a little 'too interested' in cats and small dogs. Barber is a sweet eight-year-old Rottweiler mix that came into a local shelter as a stray on 10/15. Just look into his eyes and you can tell that he’s sad and longing for a good home. Barber has some hair loss down the the center of his back and his tail. He also is slightly arthritic in his back legs. Judging from the calluses on his elbows he has probably spent most of his life outside. This sweet, sweet senior needs to be out of the shelter and on to a better life than he’s obviously known so far. I absolutely fell in love with this precious boy and I know you will too. He is very calm and gentle and chooses to stay close to his human friend. He is very loving. He gives kisses. He sits for treats. He wants to please. He appears to be house trained. He went nose to nose wagging his tail with other dogs in the bay. He was not interested in meeting the cats. Barber is waiting to go home with you. Bia was a Greek goddess personifying force and power.  We named Bia after this Goddess because Bia has proven to be strong. She has been through so much in her life yet she is resilient and has a strong will to live. She is a BEAUTIFUL lil girl that loves little kids and other dogs ! She is still in awe that all we want from her is to rub, scratch, kiss and massage her.  She LOVES to play with my pups and learning how to play with humans. She was found chained nearly choking living outside, so as you can imagine, the potty training needed work but she has picked it up so quick. She is 40 lbs medium sized young adult Lab mix - just over a year old. Easy going and just wants to sit beside you. She is very sweet but definitely needs other dogs in her family. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Sweet Brindy is done with her mommy duties and her babies are looking for their new homes, now it’s moms turn.  Just look at her beautiful coat...brindle and white! She is house trained, great with other dogs, chases the cat but good with him! Timid at first, and a lap dog at its finest. I like to be touching or laying on top of people at all times and I have slight separation anxiety; which is most likely due to her being abandoned but with her learning you will be back home for her that should settle. She loves to run and play with other dogs; bones and toys are my absolute favorite things.  Brindy is adorable and is about 60 pounds-she’s filled in nicely. She did awesome at making sure her babies were safe and fed while living on their own, now it’s her chance to relax and get some lovins. She is currently going through HW treatment but should be complete in the coming weeks and ready for a happily, healthy ever after.   All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Oh Camila, you are a little piggy playing in the mud.  This little girl is a clown with her big smile and happy go lucky attitude.  Who could resist that face?  While this beautiful girl has healed on the outside and looks so beautiful, she still has some healing to do on the inside from her previously neglected life.  She is sweet but takes a little time to earn her trust and love.  But we all know once you do, there is nothing better than a dog so devoted, loyal and thankful for the love and safe life they have now. Found dumped with a few belongings and a blanket in a alley.  She would not leave far from the blanket as that is the only thing she knows.  Scared, cold, wet, hurt and unsure what to do next this poor girl needed help immediately.  We are getting her all checked out as she has fleas, worms, gashes and very scared.  She is sweet and shown no aggression. How would you feel, fighting for your life through a hurricane, overcoming the stress of arriving and still not have a safe, loving home to relax and gain the confidence you need to thrive. Well that is what has happened to sweet Darla from Hurricane Harvey. She has not been given a chance due to timing, bad circumstances, unfortunate initial foster! Darla has been given that chance now finally and is thriving.  She is a beautiful 6 year old shepherd mix.  She is very shy at first, but once she warms up, she will be your shadow as she waits for cuddles and belly rubs. She gets along with cats, even the grumpy ones who don’t really like to be bothered. She knows sit, stay, leave it, lay down, eat, and come. She will wait patiently by the door until instructed to go inside...or outside...  If you’re looking for a loyal companion to be your new partner in cuddle crime, this is your girl! She is up to date with her shots as well as spayed.  Darla is estimated to be about 6 years old, weighs about 50 pounds.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. This sweet senior, who was yet another owner surrender to a kill shelter in S. Texas, continues to defy the odds! She's undergone treatment to remove that large hairball that we originally thought was a tumor in  her mouth. She's also fought off two tick borne illnesses just in the past month since we've gotten her into our rescue. And to top it off, she is starting to grow back some hair after treating her for flea infestation. She's a fighter and she's enjoying a nice, comfy life with her foster. If you've got a soft spot for seniors, and want to help this lady enjoy her golden years, consider Edith. This little senior is feeling so much better, with some medical care and good safe warm home she is feeling great, even a little sass starting to show! Her eyes are so soulful. Elliott is looking for the perfect family to see past her muscle tic (from distemper) and allow her time to warm. Elliott is a beautiful, smart, sweet pup.  She will be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog to pamper and understand her fight.  She takes a little extra time to connect and build that bond but once you do it will be well worth the wait.  She needs that special time with other dogs as well. She was found as a stray in South Texas without her mommy or any siblings.  Shortly after she got here she came down with parvo, sweet girl fought hard and made it through this deadly disease. Then had to fight distemper and was left with a little twitch but other then that she is sweet and loveable.   She's enjoying life with her foster brothers and sisters and quickly found her voice!  She plays hard and naps hard!  Great with other pups, large and small.  Not sure about cats, they're alien to her right now.  Is a real cuddle-bug and is overflowing with kisses! She is estimated to be a year old and weighs 35 pounds dated (1-30-2018) All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. BONDED SISTERS LOOKING FOR LOVE Have you met Emily Robison and Martie McGuire of the Dixie Beagles? Like their sister namesakes, they play great together harmonize like pros. The Dixie Beagles are littermates, about 5 years old, tan and white, friendly, happy, loving beagles. We think they are pure bred and fairly confident their dinner bowl has had pure bread with some burger and fries mixed in.  They weigh just over 30 lbs. each which is very “curvy” for a beagle. They gained weight fast when the lost their home. As soon as they a find loving family with a yard to play in, that should come right off.   For unknown reasons, these sweet girls were surrendered to a shelter by their owners. As a bonded pair, we worried they’d be waiting in a cement slabbed cage a long time - or worse if space was needed.  Dogrrr took them in to eliminate that risk even though all their foster homes were maxed. They’ve been at our partner boarding facility waiting for their forever family or at least a foster home.  These pups are so funny and fun to be with. They get along with everyone whose path they cross. They love playing outside either with others or entertaining themselves. Their favorite “toy” is a bucket of water. They tried to sit in their water bowl once so were quickly given a plastic box to play in outside.  Emily and Martie are house broken and crate trained. Sleeping by their people and tummy rubs are their favorite indoor activities. They are enthusiastic playmates and have no problem climbing up their person for a kiss.  Martie & Emily need to stay together. They were surrendered together to a local shelter and have a bond we want to maintain as ...they are very much connected. They are both loving and kind, and are model doggy citizens. Why in the blink of an eye would a family give them up... no clue! They are so precious together and will create lots of great memories for a loving family.  Sweet, precious, loving, excited and ready for a good home.   All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Geisha is coming out of her shell after her unfortunate past.  Such a beautiful, loving girl.  She is a white shepherd mix around 4 years old and 35 pounds. Geisha is another pup rescued from an abandoned situation with several other dogs...what is now known as the "hell house".  She is shy and super scared she looks down in shame and will take treats from your hands and with patience and time she will come around. When offering treats she would take from my hand and lick my hand and smell it. She stayed close to my area and did not see me out but she would make eye contact which is getting better and better. She did not alway hide her head. Please consider giving her a chance at a loving home.  She is heartworm positive and needs to be spayed but we will take care of this. If your going to start betting on trouble.😉 Meet Gordon Ramsey.  He already has a salty side to him! Wolfgang and Gordon are 11 weeks.  Officially adoptable.  The vet and staff was impressed with their dispositions yesterday for their age. Both playful.  Bell trained. Working well on potty training.  Crate trained.  Love all people. Working on obedience and prefer a family that will take them to puppy school to be the best family dog possible. They both love playing in the back yard.  Gordon seems to like the pool. Also vocal when he wants time with his humans. When done playing neither puppy is hyper. Both love to snuggle on couch and watch movies.  Mom is listed as a Pointer Mix and is just under 40 lbs.  Both sleep through the night. Our foster can't say enough as to how wonderful these two puppies are. Gordon is A) smart. Catch cues quickly for going out. Getting the hang of back to kitchen. By no means potty trained. But if you catch their cues. They will go straight out for business. Wait 30 seconds. Your cleaning a mess. B) don't seem to be afraid of vacuum or lawnmower type noises. They actually stay in the way. C) Not afraid of big dogs, love all people The only fear they seem to have...Is missing the beginning of movie time 💜 All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Indy has made strides since Hurricane Harvey.  He is still shy at first and definitely prefers women to men but he is a sweet boy who loves his daily walks.  He gets so excited and runs to his spot that his harness gets put on.  He loves other dogs and still probably needs a fur sibling to help entertain and guide him.  He is not your typically snuggle bug, he prefers to lay on his own and watch all the action from afar. Indy was rescued from Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey; he came from a shelter in Houston. Indy is a shy boy.  He has definitely not experienced love and attention his whole life.  He is always sure to place himself in a position he can see from all angles what might be coming at him.  We say he is ‘on standby’ at all times.  In the few weeks the foster has had him he has made great progress but still has a long way to go.  He is very sweet and has showed no signs of aggression even when scared.  He gets along well with other dogs, foster thinks he probably needs a fur sibling to help show him the way.  Indy will be a loyal, loving dog one day it is just going to take some patience, love and consistency to get him to trust for the first time ever.  If you are up for the challenge and huge reward in the end; this sweet guy is for you.  Our first priority is to provide these dogs with a safe, loving place to lay their head and recover after a traumatic situation. Indy is estimated to be about 5 years old, weighs about 40 pounds.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Jack is making some great strides! He absolutely loves being outside and watching people walk by. He still doesn’t like having the leash put on but once we’re outside he totally forgets about the leash and walks/ prances very well. When we’re inside he prefers to be in his crate and hasn’t really tried to venture out but this morning he came out on his own and sat next to me for about 5 minutes before getting up and going back to his crate so we’re definitely making progress! Jack and his two sisters were surrendered to local shelter; only 6 months old and so adorable and deserving of a good home.  They are a bit scared right now as they are not sure what has happened in their little worlds.  We are certain they will adjust quickly with consistency and love. Jiggy’s owners left her behind when they moved. Jiggy stayed loyal to her owners by staying in the property in case they came back; unfortunately she was hit by a car one day while she ventured out looking for food. Due to lack of proper care after her accident, her spine grew crooked causing her to be incontinent (meaning she doesn’t have full control of her bladder or defecation). Jiggy Jill doesn’t realize that she is different than any other dog. She is able to run and play. She is truly the happiest, silliest and most active pup. Jiggy gets along with other dogs, cats and loves humans. Jiggy is special needs and requires extra care. She is on a special prescription food which keeps her poops solid for easy clean up. She is also trained to wear diapers and overalls while she is indoors. Jiggy Jill might have been a throw away stray who nobody cared for but we want to give her the best quality life. She definitely deserves it. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Julie is SO sweet and very mellow overall.  She is an older gal with a bit of arthritis in her hips and back legs but she still has a lot of love to give.  She has energy and spunk when she is ready for attention.  She would be so perfect for a quieter home where she can be the main one getting all the attention.  She gets along with all dogs and people but she is currently having to vye for the attention with several other dogs and we know she would be happier in a home where she is the only queen. Julie’s such a pretty girl.  She has come a long way in a few months. She’s at a healthy weight, her black fur is coming in so nice and soft. She was treated for HW and should be fully cleared at her upcoming 6-month checkup.  She loves to be near her person and we look forward to seeing her journey continue.  Such a great dog that needs lots of love, who doesn't want that!   Julie was found abandoned in deplorable conditions, Romo and Julie were left to survive on their own after their elderly family moved out and left them behind.  Both were dirty, smelly and covered in fleas from living most of the time in a cage in the back.  She does not like cages these days, but does well alone in the house. Lana is a great dog, a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Lana is a medium energy dog who loves to go on a walk, have her dinner and then just hang out with her person. She is cuddly but does not demand attention. She will sometimes play with the other dogs in the house but she is really all about the people. She would be perfect for a single dog household for someone who just wants a sweet companion. I haven't seen her around kids but she's low key so I wouldn't anticipate a problem however she's not really a kid's playmate kind of dog. Tolerates her crate well though she's rather be with you. Potty trained. Loves her treats. Lana is very sweet natured. Doesn’t bark much at all.  She has gotten along well with other dogs in the neighborhood but she is timid with people until she warms to them. It took her about 24 hours to get comfortable with me. She is a little older maybe 6 years old and so sweet, follows her foster around, loves to be held, and is dog friendly.  You want this sweetie in your life? Unfortunately, Leela's condition is not a good one. She's been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). This is a condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae of the spinal column either bulge or burst (herniate) into the spinal cord space. These discs then press on the nerves running through the spinal cord causing pain, nerve damage, and even paralysis. This probably has been debilitating her for a while, and had it been caught earlier, surgery may have been an option. Her condition will not improve, and there sadly is little we can do to help her besides monitor her quality of life and keep her happy. She's happy, but it's growing more difficult for her to have bowel movements because of her paralysis. Please keep her in your thoughts as her wonderful foster is showing her the love and care she deserves. Leela is an adorable, if eyes could talk, senior chihuahua surrendered to local shelter.  She seems in good spirits and healthy, she is paralyzed on her backend but we are going to get that checked out.  She is able to go potty on her own without assistance.  We are thinking if we get her some wheels for her backend, she may be good as new!  Leela is around 10 years old and 13 pounds. Lemon is such a sweet loving girl, but first she needs to trust you.  So slow intros with this cutie are a must.  We are working on building Lemon's confidence, she recently went to Home Depot to practice some of her new commands.  Helping her overcome some of her fears and having fun too.  She just needs a little patience and time and she will be such an amazing companion. Lemon was found sick, emaciated, dehydrated and pitiful.  Living in deplorable conditions with several other dogs.  One of outreach volunteers was able to get her into our care. She was only 3 months old and had parvo; she spent a week in the ER getting fluids and medicine to help combat the effects of parvo.  We are going to help this girl get the life she deserves.   Lemon is doing amazing now, she gets to be a healthy, happy puppy now.  You would never know she was ever sick.  Beautiful, playful and ready for her happily ever after. Lena is a quiet, thoughtful girl who, once she gets to know you, will smooch and happily show you her tricks.  She is looking for a caring and compassionate home that will help build her confidence and understand she is a bit shy when meeting new people. She is gett ing more comfortable in her foster home and is especially close to her foster sister, Ellie. They run and play for hours and can often be found huddled together sleeping. Hasn’t shown any food aggression and is a very eager eater. She’s recently learned to take a treat, and learns commands quickly. She eats in her kennel and stays there for short periods. You can tell she desperately wants approval, you can see it in her eyes. Anyone that earns her trust and love will be a very lucky person. My name is Lizzy and I haven't  had the greatest life but like most dogs I am very forgiving.  While I was purchased as a pup at auction and used to breed puppies for most of my years in a small kennel barely getting any exercise; I still hold out hope I might experience some love and doggie pampering.  And thanks to some good samaritans, I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter where I was dumped by my previous owner who had no use for me after all those years I dedicated my life to them.  I weigh about 30 pounds and am around 10 years old.  I like everyone and am so grateful for any attention I get. Once I am checked out by the vets and get some of my medical concerns addressed, I look forward to my final years lounging in the sun and rolling in the grass. Wanted!!!! Someone to rub my belly... Then someone to Love me forever.. My name is Lolli and I am 2 yrs old. I love to play, run, take car rides and give kisses.... Meet 2 yr old Loli, she is ready for her forever family. This little girl has been through a life we never want to imagine for any dog for her first 2 yrs.  Loli comes from the Hell house, hoarding case of 75 dogs out by Tyler, Texas. She now weighs 9 lbs and needs someone that has patience, and loves high energy dogs. She is very happy and wiggles that butt like no tomorrow when she’s excited. She loves car rides, her toys, walking and other dogs. Not recommended for younger children as she takes time to trust people due to her past. She is spayed, vetted and is almost complete with her heartworm treatment. She also likes to watch selective TV shows. Sweet Loli does well with other dogs, unsure of cats. She is potty trained and knows to go in her crate at night for sleeping, doesn’t make a peep. Only concern is she is a nervous girl, she attaches to one person, just needs some patience. She is full of energy and always wants to play!  Once she gets to know you she loves to sit with you.  She loves toys and loves to run around in the backyard.  She has come to enjoy her daily walks tremendously.  We are still doing some leash training but she has improved a lot.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Look at those sweet eyes; you can just see the love and thankfulness for saving her life.  She is so sweet and silly and fun.  Very friendly, easy going and does well in pet stores and Home Depot. Lunabelle is the absolute best dog in the world when it comes to people, especially kids.  She has been through training, vetted and ready for her furever home. Lunnabelle was rescued from a local shelter and then abandoned at boarding by her out of state rescue. A foster stepped and got her out of boarding and she has been the best girl. She is sweet, loving, chill, a dream on a leash and super people oriented.   She loves calm dogs like her but does not like super loud and hyper dogs. She gets along great with our the other foster.  She is probably 6 years old. Mackenzie (Mackie for short). She is the sweetest!! Mackenzie had surgery for a liver shunt in January; because her liver was underdeveloped and her kidneys have had to pick up the slack. She recovered fine and subsequent labs show that it’s possible that collateral vessels have opened up. She is medically managed now; she gets meds every 8 hours and special food. She will need these for the rest of her life. These are imperative for her health (life). She is house trained, crate trained and loves her sisters. She’s a year old. With her condition she loves to drink lots of water.  Which makes bathroom breaks for her more frequent. But she’s never had an accident in the house. She loves to snuggle at night and first thing in the morning. She loves to play with other dogs and loves kids. Crate trained and is extremely well behaved in her crate.  She loves to take her medicine!! Despite her little medical thing she’s a great dog and has learned to sit and loves to play outside. She loves going on walks and all the toys she can find. Definitely needs doggie sisters in her forever home. There was an urgent plea from local shelter for this sweet girl.  They thought she suffered a brain injury that led to blindness. She was reported by citizens to have had a seizure and they were trying to cool her off. When she was brought to the shelter she had a temp of 99 degrees. Her right front leg was swollen. Meet sweet petite Marigold.  She is working on crate training and building her confidence with new people as you will see she hadn't the best experiences.  But she is such a smart girl.  She is around 4 years old and 40 pounds. We try to be positive on each dogs bio but I dont feel like it is possible for this sweet baby.  This form of neglect is the worst we have seen.  Starved, neglected, abused, put out to die...I guess they thought eventually if we keep all this up she would.  This poor German Shepherd dog was found in horrific conditions and relinquished to animal control.  We knew she deserved so much more and to experience for part of her life...joy, happiness, regular meals, vet care, a comfortable bed and lots of love. We hope there are many more that feel the same and want to share this with Marigold. You will not be forgotten... Dumped at a high kill shelter in her most time of need, after years of what probably was the best one could expect from a companion, and nonetheless right before Christmas. I have to wonder, was it a new Christmas puppy coming that made you do what you did?  Maybe it was a combination of her age and tumors that convinced you that her time was up and to spare you the expense and wait at a vet clinic it was just easier to drop her off at the shelter.  Did she walk in on her own will, with shaky legs. An angel stepped in to save her without a plan because she will not be able to eat, sleep or enjoy the holiday festivities if sher didn't. I dont even care how it will interrupt my life, she deserves to live her golden years in the best way possible.  Her first priority was to get her here to Camp Dogrrr, she will not be the first neglected senior who has lived out their last year or so here at the farm and she will be with us inside while we open presents on Christmas Day and yes she will have one of her own under the tree as well. She will have the best bed I can find for her old bones and she will be treated as one of the family because I dont know her, but I Love her already. I break into tears at what I think may be going through her mind as to what she did wrong. I want to hug her and tell her she is the best dog ever and I will.  She will have friends and get lots of petting and everyday she will feel the love that you never gave her since she was a puppy and I question even then. Mary is about 80lbs, 13 years old and she is so sweet! She gets along with all other dogs and cats and kids. She is an older girl and she is a strong survivor! She is hard of hearing and has Vestibular Disease, which makes her dizzy, so car rides are hard for her. She has arthritis and she went through a tough cancer surgery a few months ago. She is a wonderful girl. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. She could be one of the Golden Girls, yes she's a bit older but she is spunky, sweet and lets you know when she's had enough! This beautiful sweet girl was dumped in a shelter covered with fleas and ticks and in pain all over her body...probably from being kept in small quarters where her muscles atrophied and her skin is worn and missing fur on all parts used to lay down.  Don't think she ever had a comfy bed or gentle hand pet her.  When you saw her in the shelter your thinking this is an old dog...she just laid there in misery.  She would get up when you came to her but wept everywhere you pet her.  Had several litters of pups over the years. Well now, after just two weeks this sweet girl gets so excited when you come home...wags her tail and at times seems like she almost wants to jump up.  She is loving life.  All she wants to do is get pets and snuggle with you.  She has an awesome personality.  She is still sore in some places and has arthritis in her hips and legs but what a difference a little medical care and love can do.  And in actuality she is not even that old, I think in a few more weeks she is going to start building more muscle and getting even stronger...this girl still has a lot of life to live.  If your interested in a chow mix, she will be a great companion maybe not your hiking buddy but your snuggling up watching movies buddy!  Minna is around 9 years old and 30 pounds.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Best cuddler ever!  Such a sweet beautiful girl with her brindle coat. Miss Pebbles has gotten the all clear after recovering from her traumatic injury that broke her jaw and celebrated by eating the first REAL food in two months!  She is 2-3 years old, dog friendly, couch cuddler, crate trained (with treats). Pebbles was found alone and abandoned cowering underneath a tree after either a blow to the face, or being hit by car. She had her jaw wired for several weeks, and had to wear a muzzle to restrict movement for nearly two months. But, that muzzle is permanently off and she's 100% healthy! She does well with everyone, is HW-, and looking for the family that won't let her down!  This sweet adorable face was held together by muzzle not for protection because her jaw was completely broken.  She did so well during her recovery with liquid food and pulverized meds. She loves to be with you, cuddle, and sit on your lap. I've found she is a bit afraid of fast movements and loud noises, so I don't think she has been treated well.  But, let me warn you...whoever meets her will fall in love as she is the sweetest.  She is loving and wants all the attention you have to shower her with. She is 2-3 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. Ross is such a sweet boy. He is gaining weight and skin issues are getting much better.  Turns out he is a bit older than we thought which explains some of his joint issues.   He is slowly coming out of his shell. He loves cuddles, is convinced he is a lap dog, and is very fascinated with the cats and loves watching them. He is also very difficult to get pictures of, he just gets so excited about the attention.  Finally getting the love and life he deserves. Ross is super sweet and gets along with other dogs. Needs small kibble because almost all his teeth are filed down, not sure from what but eats kibble fine. His real self is slowly coming out and he is becoming more active.   He was found skinny, shy, scared, wondering why doesn't anyone want me.  I am good looking, check out my patches!  I love other dogs and people.  Not sure yet if I like cats cause I hadn't met one yet.  Please check me out and give me a chance to bring lots of love to your life! Sanford is doing great, happy and healthy and absolutely beautiful   BROKEN & FORGOTTEN There he sat. Hit by a car, dragged in by a catch pole, and thrown into a concrete cell only to wait to be put out of his misery.  He sat there without a second thought for a WEEK! It wasn't until a volunteer managed to "get permission" to visit the shelter was he seen. And then, he was given a day to get out! He was unable to walk, hasn't eaten, and he has road rash all over his backside. We can't imagine the pain he has been in, but we were determined to help this guy. He needs to stay hospitalized for the time being to be observed.  He's an older guy, of course heart worm positive, and he's been carrying a bullet around for a while. His road rash has been cleaned up, and despite the swelling, nothing appears broken! His hips are a not aligned and probably a combination of displaysia and a dislocation. Next stop... orthopedic surgeon so we can see what can be done. For now, we're going to let him heal, clean up the wounds, internal parasites, and just show him some love like he has shown us so far. She is amazing and has adjusted so well.  No potty mistakes.  Already learned sit, fetch and bring it back.  Amazingly sweet, smart and so ready to please.  This girl is proof she just needed a chance to shine!  She is such a delight, she walks well on leash, doesn't mind her crate and just happy to be by your side. Sarabi is a beautiful brindle gal who is so sweet and truly grateful for being saved from a hot, chained up back yard. She is only a year and a half old.  So super sweet, cuddly and ready for her new life, now that her puppies have been weaned.  She is a solid dog and its her turn to be pampered and babied. Emaciated mom trying to care for her newborn litter and barely able to move herself from weakness, starvation and heat.  Another adorable litter of unwanted puppies. This sweet girl was scared and unsure of the changes in her life.  Now that she had a safe place to have her pups and they are now weaned it is time for this sweet girl to focus on herself and be able to relax and have some fun!  Does that sound like a good idea...if so give this sweet girl a chance.  Young around 2-3 years; small about 10 pounds. This poor sweet, pitiful girl was brought to a small rural shelter because she was pregnant and the owners didn't want her anymore.  The small shelter just diagnosed a incoming dog with parvo certainly not a place for a young mom about to deliver pups.  They kept her in the animal control truck until a rescue could be found.  She is scared and has no idea why her family is not there for her during this time.  You can actually see the tears in her sweet face. We are going to make sure Sophia has the life she and her puppies deserve.  Sophia had 6 beautiful pups; one was stillborn but she did a great job taking good care of her newborns.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Hi everyone, my name is Spirit. I was run over by a car at the beginning of last year and had one front paw amputated. I have made a remarkable recovery as a tripod ever since. I can run around just fine but will never be a running dog due to my other front leg being fixed with plates as well. I am loving humans and to be close to them. Cuddles are my favorite. I am super low key and sweet. The perfect home for me will not have any stairs or an area where I don't have to walk stairs- that would be too much for me. I don't mind cats or other dogs but would do best in a home with no small children/ toddlers. I have recently completed an intense training program as I struggled with resource guarding from being a stray for many years. My adoptive parents would need to keep working with me under the guidance of my trainers.  You can follow my story on Facebook on my "Saving Spirit" fan page.  Please contact us at adopt@dallasdogrrr.org for some more information about me. Stallone is literally the sweetest dog I have ever met. He just loves people and other dogs so much, he can't help but be over excited when out on walks. He is working on his leash manners and has come along way. He actually walks better than all three of my other dogs now. Stallone working on his “adopt me” smile ...it also doubles as his “gimme all the cookies” face. We can’t even train with this super smart boy without smiling along with him. This is one happy boy now!  He is getting used to the comforts of a home and is such a good boy. Stallone had his first training session and he did amazing! We are so excited to see his progress!!  He is a good boy but he is strong and just needs to learn a few manners to make it easier for his furever family. His intake pictures have arrived and they are worse than the cold dark photo I received in the “Dog Catcher Truck” asking for help. He is worn and weathered, he was given a blanket while he waited for his ride to “Freedom”, he took it and made it a bed as if it was his first nice thing he has had in a while. All shelters have a mandatory stray hold. The shelter has waived that due to his medical condition. He has clearly had no care at all and NO-ONE is probably missing him. He is just a “STRAY” he belongs to no-one he just wandered the streets for survival! He has a large tumor on his testicles, his nails are long, he his bald, skinny, and has deep wounds. How many people watched him walk by everyday struggling to survive. How many people looked the other way thinking they could not help. St.Nick is soooo sweet. He has kissed everyone in my family and wants to cuddle nonstop! St. Nick is looking for his forever family now that he is all healthy and done with Heartworm treatment! He loves other dogs and all his humans. His foster has taken great care of him! Stitches removed and cone is off! Thank goodness! I don’t know who’s happier, St Nick or me/the back of my legs from the cone knocking into me. He is gaining weight slowly but he looks so much better than when I first got him. He’s such a sweet natured pup. He loves playing with my other dogs and is glued to me when I’m home. He thinks he’s a lap dog so we’re working on boundaries. He’s house broken and not to mention incredibly photogenic.  This sweet boy weighs 50 pounds and is 5 years old. Found surrendered to a shelter with his eye barely attached.  How long has this poor boy been suffering?  As soon as we heard about this guy we scooped him up to get him checked out.  The first thing was removal of the eye. Meet Tex!  He is a playful domestic short hair kitten rescued from the middle of a busy street in Pleasant Grove.  Life on the streets without a mama wasn’t easy.  Tex was malnourished and sickly; it took some time for him to feel like a normal kitten!  He can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable he is unstoppable!  He loves other cats and gets along with dogs.  He is a happy little guy who enjoys naps on the couch while watching tv, back scratches, and playing with his siblings and friends.  He can’t resist chasing a string or ball and even takes his favorite toys to bed with him.  Tex would fit well in a home with other pets.  He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines.  Adopt Tex today!   All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for kittens (under 12 months) is $150 and all cats over 12 months are $100.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.   Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.  Thank you for your interest in adopting a Dallas  DogRRR. show less

This girl is doing amazing well despite her initial prognosis.  She is a fighter and filling out and growing into such a beautiful dog.  She seems to be adapting well and just needs her meds 3x a day to maintain what her body needs.  She is so sweet and so worth the extra effort of just a few meds and perhaps we few extra checks ups now and then.  But we are so pleased with the results of her surgery and so glad to see her feeling and doing so well. Valentine was rescued last Feb, she is a Pyrenees Anatolian mix, about 70 lbs, had a liver shunt and had surgery to help her. She needs medicine 3x a day. She is very sweet and beautiful, she loves her humans and wants to be sure they are safe at all times.  She is a good girl, a bit shy out of her element but as long as she has you she feels safe. Valentine is great with other pups, playful and gentle and doesn’t bother her foster sibling kitty. Wolfgang is a bit more of a rough house when playing. When done playing neither puppy is hyper. Both love to snuggle on couch and watch movies.  Mom is listed as a Pointer Mix and is just under 40 lbs.  Both sleep through the night. Our foster can't say enough as to how wonderful these two puppies are. Wolfgang and his brother Gordon, all part of our Chef litter have fought hard and are happy go lucky puppies now.  They had a rough start, unfortunately 3 of their siblings did not make it due to illness.  Mom was beautiful, sweet and loving and got adopted quickly.  Have no fear these puppies are healthy and ready for their new beginnings. Wolfgang is A) smart. Yoli is a sweet girl and has learned to sit for a treat and has mastered walking on a leash. She loves her food and doesn't like to share. I wish I could get a video of her hopping around the back yard. She looks like a deer running through a field. Such a happy girl! Yoli is enjoying her new home and environment, she is so excited about all the new stuff and all the comforts she has now. Yoli is about 5 years old, she came from the Hell House property. She is blind due to cataracts but we believe she can kind of see a little-maybe shapes or shadows. She is about 10 pounds and has just finished her Heartworm treatment. She is a really sweet girl and gets along with other dogs great.  She is house trained and crate trained.
