Grace was a local owner surrender who came to us pregnant. We all took bets and lost because she had TEN puppies! She is a pittie mix, approx 3 years old, and 45lb. She loves humans and is OK with other dogs with proper introductions. She does not like kitties. She has been around kids 5 and older. Grace is an incredibly sweet pup who loves her toys - especially ones that squeak! Grace loves to snuggle up on the couch and stay inside, especially if it's cold. When a quick walk is necessary for the winter, Grace will patiently allow her human friends to put on and take off her sweaters and clean her paws every time we come back inside. She's also okay with us moving her food or taking a toy why she is eating or playing. When she wants attention, she will sometimes get mouthy, but we are working on it, and she is very gentle with her mouth when she does use it. While we have not personally seen her with children, based on her patience and willingness to be handled, we think she will do well in a house with kids, as long as we and they continue to work on not mouthing things. Unfortunately, Grace's previous owners did not keep her on heartworm prevention so we did have to give her treatment, but is now heartworm negative and available for adoption now and spayed in July (adopter must sign foster agreement and promise to show to spay). If you want this snuggly little lady in your home, apply today! Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. All adopters must be pre-approved to arrange a meet and greet, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. We do not transport once the dogs arrive in New England. Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it will be 1-2 weeks before you hear from one of our volunteers. Thank you!  show less

Look at this adorable boy! The vet calls him an Australian Cattle Dog mix, but he’s the spitting image of a Jack Russell Terrier puppy. Hoodie is a wonderful combination of incredibly sweet and mischievous: a high-energy puppy, who plays hard then snuggles hard. Hoodie would not be satisfied with just a leisurely daily walk, but he would make a great running buddy when he’s grown and would thrive in agility training. Hoodie would enjoy playing with active older kids or those with breed experience, he would likely overwhelm young children. Hoodie is initially wary of strangers, both human and canine, and will react by barking. As soon as he realizes you are his friend, though, he’ll be the snuggliest buddy you’ve ever had. He loves toys and is mastering "drop it." We could see Hoodie being happy as either the only dog in the house or with another young, playful buddy. He'd probably annoy an older dog, though with his desire to play. He walks well on a leash and is currently working on house training, crate training, and basic manners with his foster family. While Hoodie is generally pretty quiet while his humans are around, he's known to howl when they're not home. Hoodie and his siblings, the Winter Clothing pups, were born just before Christmas to a 50 lb mom, but since their dad is unknown, we can’t know for sure how big they’ll get. Hoodie is 4-5 months old and about 20 lbs, though, so will likely be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Hoodie’s adopters should have breed experience with Australian Cattle Dogs or similarly high-energy, highly intelligent breeds. His family will be committed to providing structure and advanced training or maybe agility. He will need a family who can help him build confidence and understand his place in the home. If you have the experience and want a loyal friend to join you in your highly active lifestyle, then snuggle up and cuddle, Hoodie may be a match for you! Howdy, meet Howie! Howie is an incredibly smart dog who thrives for a job. He needs an experienced and active owner that can continue to challenge him mentally and physically. Howie has lots of energy that he can sometimes focus on learning some new skills. He does amazing with obedience and loves to learn. It takes him no time at all to learn something new, and we can imagine that he would excel in obstacle courses or something similar. Even though he may need mental and physical stimulation, Howie also likes to have a good time and can be extremely silly, goofy, and has an awesome personality once he starts to trust. This 2-year-old Pitt/Hound mix is very food-driven and loves toys and playing fetch. While his trainer doesn't feel he's best suited for young children or small pets, she does think he would do best with a submissive yet confident dog. Howie has been exposed to horses and donkeys and has been completely fine with them. He loves hanging out with his people and does completely fine indoors. He will alert you to let you know if someone is in the yard, but once he’s told its okay, he loves to get attention from them. Howie needs to have an owner that will set boundaries for him and make sure they stick to them. He’s very easy to correct and loves any type of positive praise. Think we could be a dynamic duo? Jack is a ~10-month-old and Shepherd/Retriever mix. He is a very playful, sweet young boy who is ready to find his furever home. He's growing up to be a wonderful dog. Even when he gets excited to show his love, he still maintains a gentle demeanor- never biting or nipping. He's very social and prefers to be around people and other dogs whenever possible. He has really enjoyed the time he has gotten to spend with kids (10-13 years old) and other dogs. Jack has even developed his first crush on a pretty Husky pup and is learning to be a perfect gentleman. This good boy would do well in a home where he could both get and give all the love and attention in the world.  He and his sister were surrendered to our boarding partner in Georgia because their previous owners "didn't have enough time for puppies." The condition these puppies came in made that very obvious. Jack was extremely skinny and missing almost all of his hair. He and his sister were separated for a long time (almost 6mo) while Jack was recovering between lots of vet visits, medications, and baths, but now he's up here in New England and ready to find his true family.   Some fun facts about Jack: ❣️ Very sweet, will do anything for a belly rub and/or treat ❣️ Doesn't like to cuddle, but likes to sit next to you and lean/touch ❣️ Not a huge barker on his own, but given the right circumstances with another dog, he'll join the fun ❣️ Timid and shy with new people and dogs, but warms up quickly with repeated proper introductions ❣️ Prefers not to be alone.   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. Kane Brown is looking for a calm, quiet forever home. He and his siblings came to us very scared and anxious as part of a hoarding case in SC. There were over 27 dogs on the property who had never seen more than their four kennel walls their entire life. Out of all of the dogs that came from this particular hoarder, Kane Brown seemed to be the most clearly traumatized. However, he has made huge strides forward! This sweet boy would do best in a quiet home without children. He does okay with other dogs if introduced slowly, so we can see him thriving with a calm and confident dog. Kane does well on a leash and takes treats nicely. He will allow you to pet and love him, but he is still a bit anxious if he’s approached quickly. He will need time to come out of his shell.  People he’s not familiar with still make him nervous, but he's getting better every day. He does well inside his crate and doesn’t have any accidents inside our home. He will bark to let you know he needs to go outside. He likes to chat with his humans and playing with toys and will even carry them around. He has made huge strides forward and just needs a patient and understanding owner! At around 9-11 months old, Kane and his siblings are projected to be medium size dogs, around 40-50lb when fully grown. The vet believes they are Fiest/terrier mixes. Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. Meet Katt, the friendliest girl around. Katt loves to be surrounded by other creatures- pet and human alike. She loves to play, both with kids and other dogs, and is so sweet with the cats. Her truly favorite activity is snuggling with her foster brother and mama. While perhaps she was a little bit aloof at first, once she was given time to come out of her shell, she's shown how unbelievably sweet and wonderful she truly is. She's not a big fan of her crate, but she is coming along with potty training. This pup is fantastic on walks and would definitely benefit from being in a home where she can have other playmates! Katt was one of Maybelle's puppies. They are approx. 5mo old and ready for their forever homes! They will be pocket pittie mixes, as Miss M. herself is only 30lb. We expect them to be 30-50lb dogs when fully grown. Kenny Chesney came to us a very scared pup and has really come out of his shell while here. While this pup will take time to adjust once he is in a new home, once he adjusts, he shows his very sweet and incredibly playful personality. He needs slow introductions to other dogs and will do best with another confident dog to help guide him, especially since he feeds off of the other dogs around him. Kenny needs a home with no small kids and a quiet environment, as loud or busy environments make him nervous. This 9-11 months old puppy loves toys, and he is crate trained and has had no accidents inside. He barks to let you know he needs to go outdoors. Kenny Chesney loves romping and playing outside and enjoys a game of tug of war with his doggie friends. Kenny is curious and wants to say hello, but is still nervous with people he doesn’t know. Given time, he will approach to take treats from people he’s unfamiliar with. He’s getting braver and more curious every day. Kenny and his siblings were part of a hoarding case in SC. There were over 27 dogs on the property who had never seen more than their four kennel walls their entire life. He's still in a board and train to continue working on socialization and basic manners, but he should be ready for his forever home this Spring! These pups are projected to be medium size dogs, around 40-50lb when fully grown. Meet King, a beautiful 55 lb young brindle pittie. This handsome fella may be a tri-pod but that doesn't stop him from running the show! King was dropped at a shelter with a severe injury that resulted in his front leg being removed, but we knew he was a sweetheart who deserved a chance, so we scooped him up just days after his surgery. Now that he's fully recovered, he's become quite the flirt! He is super sweet and does not let the one less limb stop him from being a playful young dog. He is the sweetest boy ever and likes to be spoiled like the King that he is. King is thriving at his New England foster home where he enjoys chasing around his furry foster siblings and sharing time in the sun. He goes to work with his foster mommy every day at the salon and loves to meet new people. This sweet boy would love to find a forever home where he can chew on all the toys his heart desires and play with his family every day.  He is older kid-friendly but is unable to be cat tested.  Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Kiwi is a sweet, cuddly 60 lbs, young pittie mix. She came to Harvey’s Hope in 2019, starved, at about 30 lbs. She has done so much healing since then to get her skin back to normal, GI tract on track, and for her to trust in humans again. Kiwi is one of our founder's favorite dogs and has spent time in her home. She is smart and loyal, loves playing in the water, and cuddling with her human(s). Kiwi has been around older children but will consider a cat a snack. She has been tested with dogs as small as 11lb and as large as 90lb and did great. Because Kiwi was nearly starved to death, food is a trigger for her, and she has struggled with resource guarding behavior. She was adopted and then returned because of her food/toy aggression. Kiwi has undergone an 8-week board-and-train program and is now clicker trained for taking toys and food. She has been doing phenomenal! Her next adopter would need to closely abide by the written instructions from the trainer and find a local trainer that can continue working with her. She is truly an amazing dog and would make someone so happy if they just give her a chance. Apply to have this resilient girl join your family today! This delicate flower, Lily, was an owner surrender out of South Carolina where her owner had over 30 chihuahuas that she could no longer care for. Lily is a very shy, timid senior dog who needs a patient adopter to help her come out of her shell. She is approx. 10 years old, 6lb, and a chihuahua mix. She will NOT be placed in a home with young children due to under socialization and unpredictable behavior. She is also not a first-time dog owner dog or one to be in an apartment setting. Once Lily warms up to you and trusts you, she accepts and yearns for attention and will crawl into your sweater. She has arrived in New England and is ready to find a forever home with LOTS of blankies!! She was cat tested and ignored the cat, but would likely do best as an only dog/pet in the home where she can relax and not worry about other stimuli.    Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Luke is ready for summer! He's an incredibly sweet boy who loves being outdoors, laying out on the deck, and soaking in the rays. He would much rather be outdoors than inside. While he loves to romp and play with all the other dogs and loves to play with his humans, he is also just as happy to lay next to you. Lucas is typically pretty quiet and doesn’t bark very often, but he will let you know if someone or something is in the yard that isn’t supposed to be there. We can't believe his family gave up this four-year-old sweetheart, but apparently, they didn't want to pay the $50 it took to get him from the pound after he'd run away from their house. We think he deserves so much better!  Luke is respectful of the donkeys and horses on his foster's farm, but he is a bit too interested in them, so we're thinking he would do better with just dogs and people. Luke knows that he is supposed to potty outside and he is also crate trained! Overall Luke is a pretty laid-back guy who is a true lover at heart! He has recently recovered from Heartworm treatment, so if you want to foster-to-adopt this sweetheart in June, get your application in today!   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. This sweet girl was found as a stray in Texas and is approx. 7-8 months old, around 35lb. Our vet believes she is a collie/catahoula mix and she would love a family who is active and understands that puppies are baby sharks for many months, and need proper training and socialization to help them through this period. ZsaZsa will likely be around 55-70lb when fully grown. She was adopted as a baby but returned due to no fault of her own - she entered the teething stage! ZsaZsa needs a home with dog-savvy older children as she has a high prey drive and will pounce on things she sees as prey. Due to this, she will NOT be placed with cats or small critters. She will need a fenced in yard and is not suited for apartment/condo living.  Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Sinatra, like his namesake, is not afraid to express how he feels through song. This vocal two-year-old was rescued from Harris County, Texas, and is still hanging out with his Southern brethren while he undergoes heartworm treatment at our vet in South Carolina, but is ready to come up North in May to a foster home or foster-to-adopt. At about 50lb, he knows how to make an entrance and loves to run, so would be best for an active family.  We also think that Sinatra would do best in a single-family home instead of an apartment so he has lots of space to play in and the freedom to be as vocal as he wants without disturbing the neighbors. He is a sweet, energetic boy, said to be dog friendly at the shelter, and he will have an opportunity to socialize with more dogs once he finishes his treatment. Tex is a beautiful dog with a personality to match! This smart Texas boy knows his basic obedience and has great manners; he knows how to properly heel on leash, sit, down, stay, place, leave it, and come. He likes other dogs and is very playful. Tex loves hanging out with his humans and playing with his toys. He can be a chatty boy, but usually only barks to let you know if someone is in the yard that he doesn’t recognize. Tex loves the attention he gets during bathtime. He's quite the lover and is never far from your side! He hasn't met any smaller children but he has been fine around older kids. He is approx 4 years old, about 55lb. In true "labrador" mix fashion, he is loyal and wants to please. We think Tex would do best with a house and a yard as well as another same-sized dog companion. He's got too much personality and energy to be cooped up in an apartment. Tex is currently undergoing a board and train program to learn basic manners, where there are no kids or cats to test him with. He's has been exposed to horses and donkeys but wouldn’t recommend a home with livestock as he shows a bit too much interest in them.
