Miss Kiwi! Oh where do we begin.. Kiwi came to HHAR in the summer of 2019 at barely 30lb. She was almost "fully" grown and should have been close to 60lb! It took months to get her skin to normal, GI tract back on track and for her to trust humans again. As you can imagine, food is her trigger. Kiwi was nearly starved to death- it's not her fault. She was adopted and then returned because of her food/toy aggression. Kiwi is one of our founder's favorite dogs and has spent time in her home. She is smart, loyal, the biggest cuddle bug and LOVES water just as much as she loves food. She has undergone 8 weeks in a board and train program and is now clicker trained for taking toys and food. She has been doing phenomenal! Her next adopter would need to closely abide by the written instructions from the trainer and find a local trainer that can continue working with her. She is truly and amazing dog and would make someone so happy. Kiwi has been around older children but will consider a cat a snack. She has been tested with dogs as small as 11lb and as large as 90lb and did great. *Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. * Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. All adopters must be pre-approved to arrange a meet and greet, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. We do not transport once the dogs arrive in New England. Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it will be 1-2 weeks before you hear from one of our volunteers. Thank you!  show less

Sometimes my lips.. get stuck on my teef... Oh hi! I'm Milly!! The vet thinks I'm a lab/pointer mix and about 2-3 years old and about 55lb. I was surrendered in South Carolina because I was kept as an "outside dog," where I gave birth to my beautiful babies (L girls) who are now adopted! I have mild food aggression when you stick your hands near my food, but don't forget, I was left outside to fend for myself. My boarding mama is working with me on this and through hand feeding, she is working really hard with me!! I'm good with other dogs but due to being in boarding, I am not able to be tested with kids or cats. I think it's my turn to find comfort inside a home. I will be ready for adoption at the end of January! Can I come live with you? Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. I'm Poppy, I’m what is considered a triple blessing. I’m good with kids, dogs and cats. The shelter estimates I'm about 3 years old and weigh 53 lbs m. My physical therapist thinks I’m at a perfect weight for my injuries. I was hit by a car and suffered multiple fractures, I had FHO surgery AND I went through heartworm treatment in the last 6 months. To say I am a fighter is an understatement. I went through a few weeks of underwater physical therapy to start gaining muscle back after being on crate rest for 4 months in SC and I am finishing up with my foster here in Mass. The doctors said I healed fantastic but I need to really work on strengthening my hiney. My physical therapist is really proud of how well I’m doing. I also have super bad pittie allergies (don't we all?) and require a special prescription food to help keep my belly on track. My foster mom said I'm super soft, cuddily and the perfect Netflix partner. I love all humans, all ages. If I see an opportunity to cuddle, I will. I have been really well behaved with her cats and rabbit. I love playing and cuddling with my overgrown foster brother. Please give me a chance and I promise I will melt your heart. HELLO Ladies!!! I know im handsome, and go by the name of Ricky Rick (or just Rick is ok) but I'm a big flirt so I get to make my own nicknames. I'm approx 3 years old, about 55 lbs, a pittie mix, and I was an absolute shelter favorite. I sat in the shelter for quite some time because the environment just wasn't good for me. I would come out of my kennel with too much love and wanting to kiss your face and I guess they didn't approve of the love I had to give. One of the staff members knew I had potential and took me home for a few days and I THRIVED! I got along so well with her residents dogs, I am learning proper manners, and I take corrections from the ladies as well. She showed me to Harvey's Hope and they said YES and I did my final walk out of the shelter for good..... I just arrived in New England mid snow storm hoping that someone will give me the same chance as Harvey's did. I was cat tested a few weeks ago and really wanted to lick and chase it, so I'd be better in a home where there were no temptations. My current foster has a 5 year old and I LOVE to chase and play catch snowballs with him! I even let him sit with me and we watch TV while I clean up any dinner leftover on his hands/face. I have knocked him over a few times, but just out of passion and wanting to play!     Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Toby Keith was rescued from a hoarding situation in South Carolina. He was living outside on a property with 27 other dogs (that our transporter could count). He is approx 6-7 years old, a Fiest terrier mix, about 25lb, and is in a board and train program learning to trust humans again. He is a sweet boy who just needs an owner to take it slow with him. So far, Toby has been on a road trip and even stayed in a hotel room! He loves to run up to new people to hopefully gain their attention and love but is a little more reserved than your average dog. Toby has made our boarding partner's lab his younger girlfriend and acts like a puppy when she is around. We feel he would do best without kids or cats. He has been treated for heartworms and will be ready to travel to New England for his forever home in January-February 2021.   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH.
