Axel is a happy, easy boy who was found as a stray and spent some time in boarding with our partner in Georgia where he played all day with the other dogs and puppies. The vet thinks he is a border collie mix, but he is definitely a mutt. At just under a year and 55 lbs, he will be a medium to large dog when fully grown. An absolute sweetheart, Axel warmed up to family life immediately on arrival at his New England foster home. He is already crate trained and housetrained and hasn’t had a single accident since he came up. Axel loves to go for walks and is great on leash. He also enjoys a good game of fetch-- his foster mom says he drops his ball at her feet for to throw over and over and over. Axel is a fun pal who is still a puppy, but easily redirected from destructive behavior with bully sticks and toys. He does really well in the car, and really in every situation he has encountered so far, looking to the humans for reassurance when unsure. He is dog-friendly, just a little shy at first. It is unknown how he is with cats but is OK with kids over 12. He just doesn't know his size. Axel is curious, gentle, and eager to please—he lives for pets and getting loved on.  He has a medium energy level and would be happy with a family that will love him, take him for walks, and play fetch. His adopters will need to be committed to following through with obedience training. Axel will make an amazing companion and is sure to fill a household with love.   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. All adopters must be pre-approved to arrange a meet and greet, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. We do not transport once the dogs arrive in New England. Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it will be 1-2 weeks before you hear from one of our volunteers. Thank you!  show less

Bambi is approximately 8 years old and is looking for her forever home. Bambi is good with other dogs smaller than her once proper introductions are completed. Bambi is learning some basic manners with our South Carolina boarding partner while she waits for her forever! Unfortunately, it is evident that Bambi was abused in the past and is extremely submissive upon corrections for unwanted behavior. She will drop to the ground as if you are going to hurt her, even with a verbal "no" or if you redirect her mouthiness with a plush toy. She will need to work with a behaviorist in her new home. She would do best in a home with another submissive dog or as the only dog getting all of the loving. She would not do well with a cat or children under 10 years old. She really dislikes having her picture taken, but we promise she is happy! This 55lb mama gave birth in Texas to a litter of puppies who were eaten alive by fire ants. Her one surviving pup, Flower, was adopted and now that Bambi has completed her heartworm treatment, she eagerly awaits a home of her own. Is your confident resident dog looking for a little sister who is a gorgeous smartie-pants in a medium-small package? Belle just might be the dog for you! Belle is an approximately 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) fully grown at about 30lb. This fun, clever girl loves to get her energy out by running and playing with other furry companions. While initially, she can be a bit skittish, after few days, she feels right at home and shares her sweet, playful self. She is good with other dogs and children over 6 (not tested with younger kids) but has not been cat-tested. Belle was rescued with her litter of puppies when they were only days old. Now that the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream pups are weaned and off to their homes, it's mama Belle's turn. Belle’s perfect home would be one with an active, patient family committed to proper training for heeler mixes. They will have a securely fenced yard and will make sure never to leave her unattended outside because Belle is an incredibly smart girl and will find a way to explore the world outside the fence otherwise. Belle is a very sweet and loving pup, and with a confident doggie sibling to look up to, she will thrive. Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Blizzard is a 5 year old husky and weighs about 55 lbs. He loves to be outside, and is excited to run around, but quickly settles down in the house. He is very affectionate and is always happy to give kisses and receive pets, or to chase a ball and play with dog toys. Blizzard is working on house training, but is crate trained and walks well on a leash. He is quickly learning basic commands and is a fast learner, especially when treats are involved!   Blizzard’s ideal family will be active and walk or hike with him at least twice a day. He would also make a good running buddy. The home will have an active dog for Blizzard to play and run with, and a large yard with 6ft fencing. While his first response is to be tough with other dogs, once he sees the dog won't play until he backs off, he settles right in—and it is important that he has a playmate. His future family will have dog-savvy kids, or a kid-free home, with no small animals that he would want to chase, and will understand that Blizzard is a vocal Husky. Blizzard’s adopter(s) will also understand how important it is for him to continue and be consistent with his training program. He has entered a 6-8 week board and train program and will be available for meets around April, but you can get pre approved to be his new family today!   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Hi! I'm Buddy! I was a local owner surrender that they hold Harvey's I had worms. Come to find out, it was heartworm disease. Harvey's Hope did not hesitate and immediately started treatment, so now I'm ready for my forever home! I need to stay within 45 minutes of my overseeing vet in Lowell, MA due to needing bloodwork 60 days after my adoption to ensure I am getting better. Harvey's will cover the bloodwork at their vet until I am heartworm negative. The vet thinks I'm a Chi- JRT mix, about 2 years old, and I've rounded out at 19lb (I should be 15, but quarantine and crate rest...). I go right in my crate with a "bedtime" command, I have mastered "sit" for a treat, and I am about 90% potty trained (my treatment was hindering this). My foster home has other dogs (5lb to 50lb) but no kids or cats. I did meet a cat at the groomer and I wanted to go after it, so no cats for me. I also met an 8-year-old girl there, and she liked to snuggle, so I really liked her. I can be very wary of new people and fast movements with a tendency to fear bite, so please no little kids or chaotic households. I am a heavy notification barker so apartments, attached condos, duplexes, etc. would not be ideal for me. I am a serious creature of habit and I do NOT like missing a meal. I will absolutely let you know if you get off schedule by a few minutes and cry until you make my breakfast or dinner. I'd like a laid back house that enjoys playing ball once in a while (because I am really good at it when I get zoomies), is consistent with crate training, has lots of toys and blankets, and knows how to manage a little dog's diet because I could eat till I explode. Even on my worst days, I STILL scream to be fed at 7am and 5pm on the dot. I'm hoping to find a forever home where we can take it slow and really bond. I can be temperamental at times (did I mention I'm part chi?) so my new family really needs to be familiar with my breed and know I will likely never be a social butterfly with new people or dogs. This means I wouldn't be good at dog parks, either. I just like routine and my close circle, like a lot. Think we can be best friends forever this time?   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. This pretty little mama is Celeste. She is around 2 yrs old, about 40 lbs, and just days after giving birth to her 7 puppies, she was dumped with them at a shelter in Georgia. Despite the fact that Harvey’s Hope was beyond full capacity, there was something about the look in her eyes, and we just couldn’t turn her away! Celeste is absolutely terrified of humans, and with just cause: humans failed her when she needed them most. For now, Celeste remains in Georgia, taking time to raise her fluffernutters in the care of our vet partner. She and the babies will head up to New England to find their forever homes sometime in mid May. We are still getting to know her, but will update her bio once we do. For now, we know that she is looking for a home with a kind and patient adopter, to make up for the abandonment she has experienced so far. If you think you could be that person, apply to make the rest of Celeste’s life one filled with comfort and love. This low-riding mama is ready to steal your heart! At around 45 pounds, Deidre is just the perfect snuggling size. Deidre is around 3 years old and as sweet as can be. She loves to come up to you and snuggle and will rest her head on your lap if you sit on the floor. Before she gave birth to her recent litter, dubbed the "Irish Pups" (who found their forever homes in no time), Deidre had Dylan, who is also patiently waiting to find his new family. While we aren't quite sure what breeds make up this magical mama, the vet thinks all her puppies are Basset Hound mixes, and she certainly has the legs to match that theory. While she undergoes heartworm treatment, Diedre will stay with our South Carolina boarding partner so she can't be cat or kid-tested just yet.  However, come May, Deidre is hoping to come up to the northeast for a fantastic foster or family. Apply today to give Deidre the chance she deserves!   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. The key to Emma's heart is a snuggle and a hotdog. Can you count all the ways that she smiles? This 3-year-old sweetheart is from Harris County, TX. Weighing in at about 50 pounds, she's been determined to be a Staffy/Basset mix. You may not be able to tell from her pictures, but she's a low-riding girl. Emma has received her vaccines and been spayed, so now she is just waiting for someone to take her home forever! Our boarding partner in GA says that Emma is absolutely the sweetest girl, all around! They love her! She has learned to sit and is really close to mastering "down." The shelter told us that Emma was cat-friendly, but we have not been able to verify this on our own, as she hasn't met any cats or kids around us yet. Apply to foster or adopt Emma today!  Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Estelle is a born leader. She likes to lead the way and show her sweet siblings how it's done. She is "little miss independence;" she was the first to crate train and is mastering potty training with flying colors. While perhaps she is the dominant sibling, she doesn't have any problem blending in with a group of dogs. Her foster says that when Estelle is alone with any of the resident dogs, she's fine being part of the pack. She's a stunning dog with such deep expressions on her face that go beyond what you can see in pictures.   Estelle is part of the "E puppies" litter who were surrendered to a rural Texas shelter because their mommy had an "accidental" litter that the owner did not want. They're approximately four-month-old pit mixes who are ready to be adopted! Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Get ready to fall in love with this ball of joy! Gizmo is approx. 6-8 months old and what the vet believes to be a Yorkie mix, but he is not hypoallergenic. This super sweet pup is very playful and friendly.  He loves to play with dog toys and chases after balls and sticks in the yard. He's learning basic training quickly and does well on a leash. Gizmo loves cuddling with a human and is the perfect size lap dog. In his current foster, he's shown some curiosity towards the cats but doesn’t chase them. He loves to play with other dogs, so would love to join a house with another dog ready to play! Gizmo is an incredibly resilient dog already. He was hit by a car as a young puppy in Texas, brought to the shelter, and his owners reclaimed him. Once they realized he needed surgery to repair his leg, they dropped him back off. By then, weeks had passed and his injury began to callus. The vet attempted to stabilize his paw with casts, which allowed him to use the paw and put pressure on it. They did not recommend surgery, so we sent him for a second opinion. The Georgia vet said that his leg has healed the best it can and does not recommend re-breaking it or doing surgery at this time as it has been too long. Gizmo could have complications with this leg and early arthritis later in life, so his adopter must be prepared for these potential costs. However, he is running around and up and stairs with ease already, so this little boy's spirit might have prevailed! If this sweetheart sounds like he's fit into your family, fill out an application today!  Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. Grace was a local owner surrender who came to us pregnant. We all took bets and lost because she had TEN puppies! She is a pittie mix, approx 3 years old, and 45lb. She loves humans and is OK with other dogs with proper introductions. She does not like kitties. She has been around kids 5 and older. Unfortunately, Grace's previous owners did not keep her on heartworm prevention. She will be ready for her forever home mid to late April once she is scheduled for spay, receives her vaccinations and finishes heartworm treatment. You can apply to pre-adopt Grace today to make sure she comes home to you!! From her foster mom: "Grace is an itty bitty pocket pittie at 43 lbs. As she recovers from her litter of 10 puppies, the vet expects her to put on some much needed weight, but she will still be very petite for a pittie mix. Grace is an incredibly sweet pup, who loves her toys (especially ones that squeak) and snuggling on the couch. As she recovers from nursing 10 babies, the better she feels and the more energy she has for playing. Grace dislikes the cold and is only willing to do short walks in a sweater or jacket. She loves running in the backyard, though, where she can move fast enough to keep warm, and chasing toys inside. Grace almost never barks and is incredibly easy to handle. She patiently allows us to put on and take off her sweaters, lets us clean her paws every time we come back inside, and is okay with us moving her food or taking a toy why she is eating or playing. When she wants attention, she will sometimes get mouthy, but we are working on it, and she is very gentle with her mouth when she does use it. While we have not personally seen her with children, based on her patience and willingness to be handled, we think she will do well in a house with kids, as long as we and they continue to work on not mouthing things." Look at this adorable boy! The vet calls him an Australian Cattle Dog mix, but he’s the spitting image of a Jack Russell Terrier puppy. Hoodie is a wonderful combination of incredibly sweet and mischievous: a high-energy puppy, who plays hard then snuggles hard. Hoodie would not be satisfied with just a leisurely daily walk, but he would make a great running buddy when he’s grown and would thrive in agility training. Hoodie would enjoy playing with active older kids or those with breed experience, he would likely overwhelm young children. Hoodie is initially wary of strangers, both human and canine, and will react by barking. As soon as he realizes you are his friend, though, he’ll be the snuggliest buddy you’ve ever had. He walks well on a leash and is currently working on house training, crate training, and basic manners with his foster family. Hoodie and his siblings, the Winter Clothing pups, were born just before Christmas to a 50 lb mom, but since their dad is unknown, we can’t know for sure how big they’ll get. Hoodie is 16 weeks old and about 20 lbs, though, so will likely be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Hoodie’s adopters will have breed experience with Australian Cattle Dogs or similarly high-energy, highly intelligent breeds. His family will be committed to providing structure and advanced training or maybe agility. Hoodie will need a family who can help him build confidence and understand his place in the home. If you have the experience and want a loyal friend to join you in your highly active lifestyle, then snuggle up and cuddle, Hoodie may be a match for you!   Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. H O W I E ! Hello! I just turned 1.5 years old and I've been in and out of boarding since I was 4 months old. I am a Pit mix active boy, who went through a 4 week board and train program. I am back in another in home board and train program to learn some agility! I know basic commands and I worked on becoming a more confident pup. This will help me build the confidence I need to succeed in any environment, with any people and any other dogs. Howie’s adopter would need to also be confident, calm, work on socializing him, and start attending additional classes with him immediately. The rescue says I'm extremely silly, goofy and have an awesome personality once I start to trust. I can easily feed off energy in a room, so my handler needs to be aware of this and always work to keep my attention on them. I would NOT be a good fit for a family with children, small pets or someone who was not an experienced dog owner.
