Update on Beau. After consulting with a trainer,  it does appear that Beau is mostly if not all Anatolian Shepherd.  He is going to need a home that has experience with livestock guarding breeds and room for him to run. He does get along well with other dogs and cats too. He will not do well with small children as he does not like when small children are loud and jumpy.  He can also be protective of his home when his family is not home. He does get very attached to his family and will do best in a home without a lot of traffic and is willing to put him away when they have visitors. While he is very friendly with everyone outside the home, he is an Anatolian and bred to guard his home. Knowledge of this breed is best for this boy. Beau is pretty much a big teddy bear with his family and is very well behaved in the house.  His lumps are just fatty lipomas according to the cytology and our vet says they do not need any further treatment.  Beau came to us from a shelter in Alabama. He was found as a stray and no one came to claim him. He is a very big and sweet boy. He is 103 pounds and appears to be a lab, hound with maybe something else in him too. Beau has definitely lived in a home before. He is housebroken and even gets along very well with cats. He really does seem to like being with cats and he does also seem to get along very well with other dogs. We think he is about 5-7 years old and he is very much a gentle giant. He does have some weird lumps that we have the vet checking out and all his bloodwork has come back normal. So we think this maybe normal for him. He is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and heartworm and Lyme negtive. His adoption fee is $200.00. Meet Frisky. This little guy was surrendered to us at around 6 months old after his disablility became too much for his owner to handle. Frisky was injured when he was only about 8-9 weeks old when he was getting a bath. While we don't know exactly what happened, he did break his back. His disablility does not slow this little guy down. He is happy and healthy in every other way, but his back end does not work. Frisky will probably be this way for the rest of his life. We were told that he is a cavalier poodly mix. he is currently about 12 pounds at about 6 months old. Frisky is going to need a special home that will be with him most of the time. He gets very attached to his person which is great because he does need care all day long. Frisky does need to wear diapers and have those changed 3-4 times a day. We are getting a cart made to fit him which will go with him when he gets adopted. His adopter does need to be aware of all the challenges he may face like urinary tract infections and be attentive any possible sores from dragging or laying too much. Frisky will in return provide you with so much love and joy. He sits very well for his diaper changes and know his clean up routine. He does get along with other dogs, but does not care to share the lap of his person with another dog. Frisky is now neutered, up to date with vaccines for his age and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.00 and all supplies that we have on hand for him will go with him. Please meet Garth. He came to us from a shelter partner in Alabama very scared. He grew up on the streets with his sisters until he was caught by Animal Control at about 4 months old. His interactions with people were not very good, we are certain there were people that chased him away when he was hungry.  He escaped transport but was trapped again.  Garth is very food motivated. He did bite a shelter worker when he was being handled for transport because he was so scared.  Garth has made great progress in his foster home. He arrived on July 24, 2021 and just over a month later, we think he has progressed enough to start looking for a forever home.  Garth gets along well with other dogs,  he will chase a cat when they run, but so far he has not been mean. Garth does like to be pet, but he still doesn't work well on a leash.  He still needs work on housebreaking.  Garth is now neutered,  up to date with vaccines,  microchipped and he tested negative for heartworm.  We estimate his date of birth to be around February 2021. He currently weighs about 40 pounds.  He looks to be a shepherd,  hound maybe even collie mix of some kind. Garth will do best in a calm and patient home that is used to working with a scared dog. He is very food motivated and once he figures out leash walking he will probably make a great walking companion.  His adoption fee is $250.00.
