DOB: 5/16/18 Amalia is a well mannered, curious and charismatic angel! She is a social butterfly and wants to check out the action. She will follow you like a duckling 'Oh are we doing laundry now? Cool' 'We are getting the mail? Awesome!' 'We are feeding everyone? Yay!'  She is very social with people and other cats, initiates play or goes to find someone to snuggle with. She and her brother Roman are darling kitties!  They are energetic and playful with distinct marking and spotted bellies. They have sharp pointed ears like the original Egyptian cats. Roman greets everyone and is all boy with his endless enthusiasm, energy and  curiosity. When you bring home groceries he wants to inspect everything, when you sweep, he wants to 'help'. He charms everyone he meets. Everything is the 'funnest thing in the world' to these kitties. They are so full of joy and curiosity about everything. They are fostered with other kitties and love other cats. They would be a great companion for a friendly cat or would love to be adopted together. Amalia would not be happy as a single kitty because she is very social and thrives with other cats. DOB: 4/2013 Anabel just came back from a 2 year adoption, through no fault of her own. She's overcoming the resulting shyness very well. Originally found in the street, she thrives on love and attention, purrs, sleeps and cuddles with her foster mama, and comes running to greet you at the door. She's exceptionally large, especially long, and with her striking markings and big eyes we believe she's a good part Bengal. When she lived here before she would stand up, put her paws around the round doorknob, and open the door! She can be an only cat, but with careful introduction should be able to accept a companion. She's not an alpha cat at all. We want to be sure that, after all the changes she's been through, her next adoption will be the last. She loves young foster kittens If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB: 8/28/18 Anastasia and her siblings were rescued from the LA City Shelter system as underage kittens.  She is super sweet with soft gray and peach fur and pretty hazel eyes.  Anastasia has a peach flame on her forehead, rising from above her eyes.  Anastasia is a quiet kitten with calm energy, but also likes to gently play with her siblings.  She loves to cuddle on the couch, and adores pillows and beds on the floor.  She is likely to be a very chill, easy going cat as she grows up with a hint of a leader. Anastasia must be adopted either with a buddy or to a home with another kitty. She is great with kids and would be an amazing addition to any household. DOB: 5/14/2012Arwen is a gorgeous little brown tabby and white girl with soft golden eyes.  This sweet girl was rescued from death along with her 4 less than 1 week old kittens.  The shelter had planned to kill the entire family but they were spared and brought to foster care just in the nick of time.  Arwen was in desperate shape, little more than skin and bones, and unable to care for her kittens.  She was weak, scared, and depressed.  The 4 babies were sent to a bottle feeder where they flourished and Arwen spent a solid week being syringe fed as she lacked the energy and motivation to even eat.  Time brought healing and as Arwen began to put on weight, she also began to take an interest in life again.  Arwen has made some tremendous strides forward and her progress in her new foster home has been lovely to experience. When first rescued and brought back to health she was really afraid of hands. She was always very happy to see her foster mom and would roll around asking for pets, but she was still afraid of human hands.  After a couple of pets she would swat at the hand with just her pads, no claws.Arwen is now out and about playing with the other felines in her foster home. She has four playmates, and she loves them all! She has never, even from the very first time, hissed or growled at another cat. Even at the adoption events that are stressful in nature, she has never hissed at another cat. She is very playful and runs around with the 6 months old kittens, (it's a good match- she's a small cat!). From time to time the two neighborhood feral cats come in to say hi; they're all friends and Arwen is very curious about them.  Plus, it looks like sweet little Arwen has found herself a boyfriend- at least he thinks so!  It's endearing to witness. It's easy to see that the guys would like her; she prances around being light on her feet when she walks and run! She no longer is afraid of hands, as long as the hands don't make quick, rushed, and erratic movements, she loves, loves, loves to be petted, and she will purr up a storm if you let her.  She is still afraid of an erect body and a human body coming towards her, but even here she has changed dramatically with each passing day. Especially if she's up high on a cat tree or kitchen counter or the like, she has no problem with a body walking towards her. As a matter of fact, then she seeks out your hand for pets! Lately, Arwen has started to really want the human presence. Instead of running away, she has followed her foster parent around from room to room in the house; not glued to the heals, but all of a sudden she has appeared in the same room. Her foster mom was positively surprised the other day when her roommate told her that Arwen had come into the kitchen and rubbed against her legs, even though the roommate was fully standing up making tea. Later when the roommate was on the couch, Arwen came up next to her and rubbed her head against the roommates hand. Arwen needs patience, love, and understanding as she continues to recover from whatever made her so terribly scared.  Arwen would be best suited in a calm, quiet household where she can feel secure and safe.  If you're looking for a kitty who is low maintenance, but is a good playmate for your cat, Arwen would be your cat!  Arwen would not do well with children at this point in time, and wants a dog free home. Arwen is fixed, tested for FIV/Felv, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in learning more about Arwen or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB 4/12/13       Beamish is truly wonderful kitty.  He's a big, handsome, soft tabby & white.  He loves to play with his toys!  His favorites are his tunnel and turbo scratcher.  Beam also loves to play with his kitty friends.  He is a very funny kitty – he sometimes likes to sleep on his back with his legs up in the air.  He also likes to snuggle in bed and purrs like a locomotive. He’ll come when you call him, “Beam!”  He makes an adorable chirping sound. Beamish needs a little extra care. He needs Miralax twice a day to keep his stool soft.  I put it in food in the morning and evening and he thinks it's a treat. DOB: 10/2/18  Beatrice is a very special girl. She is such a sweetheart, she loves to snuggle an purr! She is social and seeks out human affection. She’s playful and enjoys stalking and wrestling her sisters, Betty & Iris, but can also be very mellow and snuggly. Her favorite pastimes include eating (she is REALLY passionate about the eating!), climbing, wrestling and cuddling. She has the sweetest little face, beautiful round green eyes, a big warm belly and extremely soft, thick, medium-long hair. Bea is likely a Maine Coon mix due to some of her telltale characteristics: the “ruff” of fur around her neck, the long hair at the tips of her ears and in-between her toes, and her larger-than-average size. This sweet girl can’t wait to find her forever home and start bonding with her new family. Because Beatrice is so young she needs to go to a home with another kitten or young cat. She would likely do ok with a low energy, mellow, well behaved dog and would do best in a home with older kids. DOB: 5/2014 Beatrice and her siblings, Skeeter, Potter and Pippi were  all rescued from the pound when they were going to be killed.  They all fell in love with their foster mom's dogs as soon as they met them, so it's a pretty safe bet they were born into a home with dogs. Beatrice is sweet and playful but not a cuddler. A little shy at first but then wants to play.  This adorable girl LOVES, LOVES, LOVES dogs!!!  She is on the quieter side. She really needs to be with a dog and hopefully a cat, too.  She likes to sleep in the middle of the dogs. As much as she loves dogs, she also loves other cats and has lots of play in her.  She does like belly rubs. She loves older kids and likes nothing better than to have someone sit on the floor and play with her.  If you sit on the floor, she will come right to you!  She is getting lost in the shuffle of her busy foster home and not getting enough attention. Beatrice is a little reluctant around new people. She much prefers the company of dogs and at least one of her siblings. She loves to find new things to entertain herself around the house and is a funny personality for those who don’t want a cat who likes to be cuddled. She will come to you if you are on the computer and definitely when you are eating!! She loves treats.  She will also come if you sit on the floor and give her a second or two to check you out. https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B1WCGx0vQ2HTNllydnI4UFBlNlU/edit If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 7/5/08 Beautiful Birdie is a very friendly, comical, and happy kitty. She opens up quickly and loves to make new friends who are good at giving head scratches, pets, and anyone who compliments her cute crinkle ears. Birdie enjoys snoozing the hours away in a good sun puddle as much as the next kitty, but is always up for an exciting play session, especially with her favorite fishing pole toy! The instant she gets a toy in her mouth, she'll start singing you her battle cries—and you better believe this girl has some pipes! She loves to explore, searching out the best toys to add to her secret stash. Beautiful Birdie would love to be part of a bustling household. DOB: 4/1/18 Bertrand and Lillian are bonded siblings. They are both angelic, curious, well mannered and very loving kitties. Bertrand is a polite gentleman while his sister is an adventurous tomboy. He follows her around like a shadow which is very cute. Lillian is a happy and adventurous girl who looks out for her chill brother. They have been a truly bonded pair from the beginning. They must be adopted together but would also adapt well to other friendly cats and friendly dogs. They are good with kids. They love people and are very cuddly. But they are young kitties and have important things to do like play soccer, chase laser toys and find a perch to watch the action going on outside. They take grooming seriously and were rescued with their beautiful and loving mom who has been adopted. They come from great genes. We wager anyone who can take a photo of either that is not blurry because they are either playing or photobomb the camera when they see you look at at them. DOB: 6/14/18 Birch is an extremely sweet and affectionate kitten! He’s very loving toward people, and has his own set of cute quirks. His favorite thing to do is to cuddle and be pet. He’ll demand to snuggle on your lap, chest or under the covers with you and get lots of kisses. When he’s especially comfortable he’ll gently suckle and knead on you. He’ll let you pet him anywhere and enjoys being held. His constant purring has a very unique sound and is absolutely adorable. He’s a talkative kitty, especially when it’s time to eat!    Birch is very energetic and he needs some play time every day. He is always up for chasing a wand toy, his all time favorite!   He was bottle fed since only 1 day old, and fought hard to survive an infection at 2 weeks old causing his back legs to swell. With medication and laser therapy he quickly made a full recovery.   Birch is very bonded to another kitten living in his foster home and they do everything together. You’ll find them grooming each other, playing together and sleeping together. DOB: 5/1/07 Boots is an interesting character. She was in a home with someone until she was 7 years old and was then returned to Kitten Rescue when her human decided to move to a building that didn't take pets. Boy oh boy, Boots did not take that move well. She acted feral and hissed and growled at everyone and for a long time we thought she hated other cats, too. She initially bonded very strongly with one of our caretakers. Recently she has taken to others and is able to be out and about with the other cats at the sanctuary, but she is still not very happy that they exist. DOB: 4/24/18 Brennan is a stunning tortoiseshell girl with the cutest star-like spot on her nose and the softest fur.  She absolutely loves humans – her purr motor revs up as soon as one picks her up; she also loves kisses and head scratches.  She likes to talk, but has a tiny, quiet, adorable little meow.  She enjoys cuddling with the other kitties in her foster home, but she’s also quite independent, much more so than the rest of her litter-mates.  Her favorite activity is exploring the world around her, so she’s usually the first to venture into new areas.  She also likes the top of the cat tree and the windowsill, so she can see all the world has to offer. DOB: 10/29/2014 Hi - I'm Brody, and guess what? I am definitely your kinda guy. I am a really chill dude who was rescued from a high-kill shelter by Kitten Rescue - and boy, did they make a good pick! I am sweet, playful, social - you know, all the good characteristics you'd want in a dude like me. I like other cats - and even dogs! I'm living in a cool foster home right now with two other cats and a big dog who loves to boop noses with me. I'm litter box savvy, not particular about food (I'll eat anything with gravy - but as you can see I even like broccoli!), and I have a beautiful orange coat that I'd be happy to let you pet. I'd love to join a home with another cat - or kids - or anyone who's willing to play around and snuggle with me. I'm microchipped, and have all my vaccinations - and, of course, I'm neutered - so pretty much ready to go when you are!  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 6/25/18 Bucky is pretty much everyone’s favorite boy. He is sweet and affectionate. Bucky is a little snuggle monster and when he purrs, he purrs loudly. You’ll usually find him under a blanket or towel. He’s definitely the mellow one of the family, and plays a bit less often than his siblings, but he does play occasionally.  He’s very smart and loves to have his soft fur petted. When he is exploring he tends to chirp to himself which is adorable. He loves plopping next to his human and being pet which starts him purring almost right away. He’ll eat right out of your hand, and just has such an easygoing mellow personality, you can’t help but love him. Rescued with his Mother and siblings in Arleta, Bucky was weaned naturally from her, which is always the best way for healthy, happy kitties. DOB: 7/1/17 Hi there, my name is Bunny because I have such soft, fluffy fur. I was an outdoor stray most of my life until I got pregnant and these nice people took my babies and me in. It takes me a little while to warm up to new humans, but once I do I love cuddles and will head-butt for more! I love other cats and made friends with all the cats in my new home right away. I also love, love, love my foster’s catio where I can feel the wind through my fur and pretend that I am still a scrappy stray — adventure every day, living by my wits alone! And then I can go inside, have some nice food, and relax in the AC. It’s the best of both worlds! I would do well as an only cat in a quiet house where I could come out of my shell and really bond with a human, or as a cat friend to a kitty who recently lost a close kitty friend. My favorite cat at my foster home is another cat who also gets along with all cats. We really get into kissing and cuddling together. I’m told that it's kind of over the top If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 9/27/18 Candy is a beautiful, petite kitty that loves to nap in the cat tree as the sun shines through and warms her. She is also quite playful and will spend hours wrestling with her brother, Popcorn (CF#8549) and foster siblings and running circles around her favorite cat toy. She is a young, playful kitty that needs to be adopted together with her foster brother, Popcorn, or with one of her foster siblings or into a home with an existing kitty. Candy is a bit shy when she meets new people so she needs someone that will be patient and loving while earning her trust. She does not run and hide, she simply stays an arms reach away while she observes and assesses new people she meets. It can take her anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more, to get comfortable around strangers. Once she warms up to you she is a sweet, loving, affectionate girl. DOB: 9/7/10Cappy is an affectionate, smart, energetic cat who is playful and fun. Absolutely devoted to playtime, Cappy will happily bat around spiral toys as if playing ice hockey. Up and down the hallway he’ll slide, using his left leg and then his right to score a goal.  He’ll jump. He’ll fall. He’ll fearlessly throw his body against a wall. Then shake it off and get back into the game. In fact, Cappy would rather play than eat which keeps him on the slim side. He is a curious kitty who explores on his own, as if hunting or in search of his next adventure.  When Cappy misplaces his pucks (I mean toys), we hunt for them together.  I move the big furniture and Cappy runs behind each one to check. It’s almost a game in itself. Cappy’s wide-eyed expression is sure to make you smile. Scoop him up and kiss his belly. He’ll purr and snuggle and then be off again.  Arrange to meet Cappy soon.  He’s everything you are looking for.If you are interested in learning more about Cappy or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB:  3/1/2003 Look at that sweet tough guy face! I call him Cappy since he seems like he is 'the captain in charge'. Although Cappy has had a rough & tumble life, you would never know it from his personality. He is just a big, loving, extremely easy going kitty. (He would make a great couch potato companion.) After an exhausting evening of watching TV, this handsome orange and white fellow will head butt you and then sleep quietly at the foot of the bed. He loves to have his fur brushed and will roll over to show you his pure joy (and his cute tummy!). Cappy is a low maintenance type of kitty - not one of those hyper youngsters! He is an adult cat but has many, many years to give companionship and love to some lucky person. He does like to be 'king of the castle' so he can be an only kitty or could go to a home with a non-alpha, gentle resident kitty. He is dog-friendly. Cappy is a special kitty - he has FIV, which is not a big deal. Given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will have the same lifespan as any other indoor cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact, typically from a deep puncture wound. It cannot be transmitted to humans.  Click here to read an excellent article about FIV. Cappy has spent too many years looking for a loving home. If you can offer this sweet deserving kitty some love and attention, please email his foster Mom. DOB: 3/29/2018 Carlotta is a delightful, active kitty with a little white area on her neckline known as a locket. She was born with a “fever coat” which is temporary coloration of the fur which made her appear closer to a baby raccoon than a black kitten. Her fever coat did make her look a bit scary, but I assure you she is a normal, sweet, playful kitty. Carlotta would love the company of another young, active cat in her new home, but she would also do well as a solo cat in household where she is not home by herself all day. She hasn’t been around kids or dogs, but she should be fine with kids age 6+ and cat-friendly dogs. Carlotta, with the mysterious past, is waiting to join your household. She's lovely with her dilute (pale) calico/torbie (tabby + calico) coloring. Because she's so young, she needs another kitten to be with. DOB: 5/22/18 Chico aka Chico Chonky is your quintessential, lovable rouge.  When this fearless leader is not rabble rousing the troops to play play play you can find him face and sometimes feet deep in his food bowl. This kitten can eat…and eat…and eat some more. He loves food, any and all, though he is not a man of discerning culinary tastes he makes a fine dinner companion.  He would probably say he needs all that food so he can grow into his feet, which are the size of a small puppies and look like tiny catchers mitts when he plays. Which second to food is his favorite thing to do.  Chico also enjoys “helping” around the house.  He seems to have a preference for laundry, although I have yet to see him fold a single shirt. He loves unmaking beds while you make them and dishwashers are often a source of entertainment for Chico.  It’s like having your very own project manager. Chico enjoys the company of other cats as well, including a resident 3 yr old male in his foster home. Who if truth be told can be a grumpy old puss, but that doesn’t stop Chico Chonky! Like Don Quijote fought windmills this kitten will stare down the vacuum cleaner and with stand the snubs and abuses of other cats with aplomb. He would make an excellent companion cat for a home with other pets.  He will wear them down with his rascal charm and loving spirit. Because at the core of this kitten is a big soft heart that loyally commits to his tribe.  This makes him somewhat shy in new social situations and with new people.  He is still curious with new folks, he certainly NEVER hides-he’s too nosey and playful for that- he just won’t go jumping into the laps of any old guy or gal. He’s too discerning for all that, and keeps his cards close to his big loyal lovable heart.  But once you bond it’s all over-Chico Chonky is your buddy for life. He’d probably say it isn’t the quantity of friends you have it’s the quality.  That is if he could speak, which of course, he can’t. But he has learned some pretty cool new tricks like sit, and paw, and jump…so who knows maybe down the road he’ll surprise you. : } For more photos and to contact regarding adoption please feel free to message me at https://www.instagram.com/thevaleriecruz/ or valeriesadoptables@gmail.com  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 3/5/08 Hi, I'm Cisco, a handsome little 9 pound chihuahua mix - perhaps with a little Italian Greyhound! I am tall and lean, run like the wind, and am a confident guy that loves other dogs. For the first couple years of my life, I lived with a homeless man who did his best to take care of me but when he was hit by a car, I was left to fend for myself until Kitten Rescue took me in.  I am so grateful for all the good food, toys, cozy sweatshirts, that I cuddle with my foster mom, lean my head into her and thoroughly enjoy the attention. I would love a home with a yard and a doggie pal, where I can get lots of attention. I would be an excellent companion for hikes and long walks -- I love walks more than just about anything else. DOB:  3/1/11 Look at Cookie’s sweet face! This sweet healthy kitty has an endearing head tilt and a wobbly little walk, left over from an ear infection as a baby. She looks like she is watching you intently, ready to ask a question. Her fur is soft - grey and white with a white tip on her tail. She was rescued from a mechanics yard as a baby. She loves to have her ears and chin rubbed. As I sit watching TV she comes over and looks up at me intently. That means she wants to be petted - her ears are the favorite spot. She will roll over on her back, showing her tummy to tell me how happy she is. Her favorite sleeping place is a soft bench in my living room. And she loves to accompany me to the bathroom in case I get lonely in there. She also loves to play with toys - tossing the furry mouse high in the air. Then she grabs it and off she goes, running with it. She gets along fine with other cats as long as they are docile and will not threaten her. Cookie is a low maintenance type of kitty. She is not a constant talker, but will let you know when she would like your attention with her oriental sounding meow, and or a gentle paw on your cheek. Coral is part of a bonded pair and MUST be adopted with her bff Nala (J625) They are adorable together. Nala had health complications & Coral took it upon herself to be her big sister & protector. DOB: 2/4/10 Cricket was rescued when she was just one day old from the Orange County shelter.  She was dropped there with her three surviving siblings; her mom, a Rottweiler, rejected the litter and the owner wouldn't take care of them.  Fortunately she was rescued quickly and bottle raised, and has been around dogs, cats and people her entire life! Cricket is an EXTREMELY EXUBERANT girl.  I wrote that in all caps because I can't overstate how high energy she is.  This is a dog that wants to go for walks, runs, hikes and whatever else you can do to keep her moving.  She is super playful and loves all sorts of toys, balls and the usual dog things.  She's currently living in a home with two other dogs and is always trying to play with them.  And if the dogs aren't responding, she'll try to play with the resident cats.  Which, from the cats' perspective, is not always welcome - but she certainly means no harm.  Cricket does occasionally enjoy some down time, and that's when she gets very cuddly and kissy, with people, cats or dogs.  She's crate trained and perfectly housebroken.  Sure, she does occasional dumb dog things, but that goes with the territory. Cricket is not a dog that should be left to her own devices.  Perhaps when she's older and more stable that would be possible, but with her age and exuberance she needs to have strict boundaries set and kept for her.  She definitely responds very well to training, but as experienced dog people know, training is a continuing endeavor, and Cricket certainly needs to be in a home where this is an ongoing thing. One very endearing thing about Cricket is her ears.  The bases are firm but the tips are very floppy.  Sometimes they are both flopped forward, sometimes back, and sometimes one goes each way.  Everyone who meets her sees those ears and giggles, and they really are something to behold.  It's like they have personalities of their own. DOB: 4/10/18 Crumpet has been with Kitten Rescue since he was 2 months old, after he was abandoned at the gate with his 6 siblings.  He is a dream cat, very easy going and so incredibly sweet.  Crumpet likes to simply hang out in whatever room you are in and never pesters you for attention.  He is content to wait until you are hanging out on the couch, and then he will curl up on your feet or sit beside you kneading his dainty paws.  He likes to be petted and will roll around with toys, even letting you pet his belly. He enjoys playing with his brother, Biscuit, and fellow foster friends, so he would make a wonderful companion to another kitty or can be adopted with someone he already knows. Crumpet is the only kitty currently who runs on the cat wheel, so he’s definitely got an energetic streak and will romp around the house with his brother. Crumpet is the sweetest cat and deserves a calm household where he can relax and have fun, preferably with a kitty friend but he would be ok on his own as well. DOB: 4/22/16 Please meet Delphine, a sweetheart of an Abyssinian tabby, ('Abby-Tabby!'), mix.  'Del' is an independent and expressive young lady, especially after 'capturing' a favorite toy.  Delphine loves exploring and discovering that perfect, cozy nook where she can nap or just watch you work.  While not a lap cat, Del enjoys being wherever you are! In a show of kindness, Del several times presented her toys to another kitty for whom Del's foster mum is caring.  The other kitty, named Florence, is extremely shy, but once she touched noses with Delphine, the two were fast friends!  Both cats love playing together and chasing each other around their foster's home. Once a young mum herself, all of Delphine's kittens have been adopted, and now it's this lovely lady's turn to greet you when you return home, (usually with a favored toy), and become your forever companion. A former bottle baby, Dilithium loves humans more than almost anything else in the world. He’s very good with other kitties - loves to play and wrestle with them, especially his sister, Tholian Pixie Dust. He loves to toss around a toy mouse before hoarding it and warning away all the other kitties with the cutest low growl while he holds it in his mouth or under his paws. Dilithium is great with kids and would likely adapt well to a cat friendly dog. Due to his age and energy level, he will need another young playful kitty in his new home. DOB 4/15/2015 We rescued Dreamy from the shelter before he was euthanized. He is simply one of the most amazing cats I’ve ever met.  I call him Dreamy because when you looks at you he closes his eyes a bit like his dreaming and meows.  He loves people. Dreamy is a handsome orange and white short hair kitty.  He's a medium to big kitty.  Very in shape, about 12 pounds.   Dreamy loves to be petted and purrs and purrs.  He cuddles in bed and will lean next to you.  It's just wonderful.   This precious boy will meow/talk to you to say hi and that he loves you and he likes to be talked to as well.   Dreamy is just 2½ and very active.  He loves to run and play.   I live in an apt. and work all day.  I think Dreamy would do best in a house, condo or large apt. where people are home a bit more or where there is another active kitty around his age to play with.  He needs attention and physical activity.  But as I said, when it's time to relax or sleep, he's a cuddly, dreamy kitty.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him please click here to email his foster mom Belinda or call/text her on her cell 818-554-6807. DOB: 10/1/15 Did you know that black cats are lucky cats? Sweet Duchess is an affectionate little girl who loves attention! She loves to be petted & have her ears & chin scratched. She is learning to sit in laps. I think once she gets into a home of her own she will be comfortable & become a snuggle type of kitty since she loves humans so much. Duchess is a smaller cat – just over 8 pounds. Her black fur is soft & sleek. She has a tiny while locket on her neck & stunning green eyes. Her favorite toy is the fishing pole toy – she can run & jump & catch it. Then off she goes – dragging it as her prize. She came from a home with too many cats so she would be best as an only cat or with a very docile companion. Duchess would love to be the queen of your castle!   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. Dumpling is a mellow, easy going kitty who loves to cuddle and suckle on blankets, kneading her paws while purring up a storm.  She has an adorable habit of sleeping in the funniest splayed out, upside down positions, and will even let you pet her belly! Dumpling would do great in just about any family as she is confident with people, good with kids, and just wants to have people around her all the time. If you are gone all day, she’d love a kitty buddy to hang out, play, and cuddle with. It takes Dumpling about a week to adjust to new kitties, but then she’s best friends with them. DOB: 4/6/17 Enzo Ferrari is a precocious, playful, sweet, affectionate little sweetheart who loves to be petted and held. A bottle baby from our nursery, Enzo has always been around humans and is consequently very affectionate with them. He loves other cats and kittens and wants to be friends with everyone – he gets very lonely if he doesn’t have some buddies to play with. He loves to pounce and play and wrestle with his foster mates. Enzo was born with hydrocephalus – a neurological condition where spinal fluid accumulates on the brain. His condition is currently controlled by two medications which he takes daily and his neurologist says his prognosis is great - there is no reason he cannot live a high quality normal length life. Due to his condition, Enzo is completely blind and has some “interesting” habits, like walking in circles and attacking the air. His MRI shows that one side of his brain is fine while the other has some abnormalities in the areas that control motor function and learning, which explains some of his odd habits and the fact that it takes little Enzo a wee bit longer than it might take a 'normal' cat to figure some things out. Enzo uses the litter pan, but must be given a little time to learn in a new environment. For instance, when coming to foster, we started him in a small bathroom where he would go on the floor on wee wee pads NEXT to the litter pan at first and then within a few days was using the pan. The same applied when we opened his space up - he found the wee pads next to the litter pan in the big room first and then figured out to do his business IN the pan. Since then, he has been completely consistent. He just needs a little time and patience :). He can be startled by loud and unfamiliar noises, so a relatively quiet home without small children and without noisy energetic dogs is best. He’s perfectly fine with crazy energetic kittens and cats, though.  For more information about Enzo and/or Hydrocephalus in cats, please email Enzo’s foster or visit http://www.vetstreet.com/care/hydrocephalus-in-cats-and-dogsIf you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 9/15/2010Fairfax is kind of a weirdo. On the one hand, she can be a really sweet and extremely talkative girl who gets so excited for pets that she chirps and flops around and drools with delight while purring like an outboard motor. On the other hand, she is extremely jumpy and skittish - sudden movements, walking towards her when she is on the ground or loud noises will send her under the couch. This isn't a factor of her upbringing - she was rescued from a municipal shelter as a tiny kitten and handled a lot when she was young - this is just how she is hard wired. This explains why she is still in foster care after all this time. She hides when strangers come to the house, so she can't be home shown. If her foster dad is able to grab her and bring her to a weekend adoption event, she sits in abject terror waiting for it to end, usually burrowing and hiding under the blanket in the first ten minutes and not moving until it's time to go home. It will take a leap of faith for someone to give Fairfax a home. On the plus side, she is very cat friendly, has been raised in a home with dogs and when she is in an affectionate mood she is almost manic in how sweet she is. But, it's not going to be reasonable to expect her to settle down and become a traditional lazy lap cat. She is who she is, and it is very quirky and rather endearing, but a bit unusual. She is, thankfully, extremely well behaved and in good health. So, with all of those caveats, if you are open to the possibility of giving her a home, please click here to email her foster dad, or visit our website at www.kittenrescue.org and fill out our Contact form and ask for her by name. DOB: 4/22/16 Florence, ('Flo Kitty'), is an extremely shy, reserved kitty who loves taking treats from your hand.  Florence is  very expressive when it is mealtime, and will always let know when she's hungry, (no shyness about that!) Florence is very playful; she loves chasing her toys and Delphine,  a sweetheart of an Abyssinian tabby mix, with whom Flo Kitty is best friends.  Florence also enjoys playing independently with her favorite ping-pong balls and catnip toys. Flo is an owner surrender cat, so we are uncertain of the cause of her shyness, but she is a very sweet girl who is still just a bit unsure about people.  Thought not a lap cat, Florence enjoys being near wherever her foster mum and Delphine are! Florence would best thrive in a quiet home where her adopter is experienced with shy cats and who is willing to be very patient for the rewards of profound love this beautiful cat will surely bestow upon her forever companion. DOB: 6/20/2003 This gorgeous, lovely girl needs a new home after losing the one she had. Gilda is accustomed to being alone during the day and could be content in a one-cat household. Gilda was trapped as a kitten while living with a feral group on the edge of a schoolyard. She was not wild, however, and ready to play as soon as released. She had been attacked by some other animal and had deep wounds on her face and neck. With antibiotics she healed completely without scarring. Gilda is a glamour girl as cats go. She knows, it seems, how beautiful she is, and plays the prima donna among the other cats in her foster home. She is a spirited cat—active, alert and curious. She loves to 'help' with any house-hold activity underway, especially at the computer, then cuddle on the sofa for TV time.   She was adopted shortly after being rescued, but sadly for her, was returned when her adopter received a job assignment requiring stays in Europe. Gilda was confused and upset at losing what she thought was her forever home. She has regained her composure and is in need of another home where she can feel secure and loved again. She is still a sweet, affectionate cat, and as lovely as ever. DOB: 4/2015 Gizmo got his name because it fits his funny, quirky personality. How is he quirky, you ask? Well, let me count the ways… He is a rare cat who loves water. He can’t get enough….even toilet water, so be sure to keep your toilet lid down or you will find him splashing around without an ounce of shame. Another quirky habit is that when he sleeps, he dabs. When he is hot, he lies on his back with his legs sprawled in the air. When he wants to relax, he flops down on his belly with his legs splayed behind him like a frog. And when he grooms himself he sits like a human, licking his tummy while perched on his majestic bum. And lets not forget to mention he is always ready for a fancy occasion looking suave in his tuxedo. Oh! And he loves to help you make the bed every morning. One of his favorite things is hiding under the sheets. Gizmo is a big, sweet oaf that loves to cuddle and receive attention. He is a big loverboy that is not shy about pushing your phone out of your hands with a nudge of his head if you’re paying more attention to your phone than to him.   When he meets new people he is a little reserved for the first 15 minutes as he assesses them, and then he is ready to make friends. Gizmo would prefer to be an only cat though he is okay sharing the spotlight with kittens, even if they do mistake him for their mom and try to breastfeed on him. If you are interested in meeting Gizmo, his foster mom is happy to arrange a meet-and-greet. DOB: 3/17/08 Grace “Gracie” Kelly is a special girl. At only 5 weeks old, was rescued from death row with her siblings the day they were sentenced to be euthanized. Gracie has lived with one of her sisters and her brother her whole life…while her brother was adopted back in 2008, Gracie and Greta continue to wait for their forever home. Gracie is a curious kitty but she is also a little skittish, although not as much as her sister Greta Garbo. Gracie spends a lot of her time curled up on the bathroom rug and when not there she can usually be found on the bed (or under it). She wants to know what’s going on but at the same time is a little scared of what that might be. She loves toys (she will sometimes talk while playing) and gets along with most kitties (she loves her big foster brother). Gracie is a bit of an over-groomer, she has licked off most the fur on her lower belly, but other than that she is a happy, lovable girl. Because of her specialness, she continues to be in foster care. You can follow Gracie on Facebook with her sister Greta at  https://www.facebook.com/AdoptGreta or on Instagram @GretaGarboKR If you are someone who will love her for who she is (not a lap kitty) and be patient with all her quirks,  please click here to email her foster mom, or visit www.kittenrescue.org and click the 'Contact' tab to send us an inquiry. DOB:  4/1/17 Meet Grackle! He is a very sweet character, once you earn his trust.  He loves to play and run around with his buddies, chasing toys and the occasional cricket that makes it into the house. His favorite toy is a feather/string toy, which he promptly steals away from his buddies in order to hide it away from everyone else. There will never be any doubt about which cat in the house is being vocal at any moment, as Grackle “talks” a lot, and has a very distinctive squawky meow, which sounds a lot like someone has just squeezed a kewpie doll. His stunning black coat is extremely soft and shiny and he loves to be petted and scratched under the chin. Grackle also loves to cuddle up in your lap or on your chest, and will gently nibble on your fingers when he feels it is time to be fed, or if he wants his favorite freeze-dried chicken treats. He did have a traumatic start with humans however, and will need a bit of patience while he adjusts to his new home. He and his two sisters were abandoned in front of the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary at about 8 weeks old, stuffed into a bird cage. Due to this, Grackle can be a bit shy at first. He is very good with other cats and dogs, but is pretty much a one-person kitty. He must be adopted with another kitty to keep him content and occupied, or into a home with an existing young cat. DOB: 3/17/08 Greta Garbo is a special kitty. At only 5 weeks old, she was rescued from death row with her siblings the day they were sentenced to be euthanized. Greta was adopted as a kitten but was found a little over a year later in the Angeles Crest National Forest in a carrier, luckily a good samaritan found her and she was scanned for a chip, they called Kitten Rescue and she returned to her former foster home with her siblings. Greta is a sweet petite kitty but she is skittish. She spends most of her time hiding under the bed or the couch, but she does come out and will sleep on the bed and play with toys. She gets along with most other kitties but does not like dogs, they scare her. She can be a little fussy with her attention, she likes her chin scratched and is a bit of a talker when given attention, but she doesn’t like to be touched in certain spots but she will let you know with a warning. When her foster mom has tried to take her to adoption events she hyperventilates and hides. Because of all of this she continues to be in foster care. You can follow Greta on Facebook with her sister Gracie at  https://www.facebook.com/AdoptGreta or on Instagram @GretaGarboKR If you are someone who will love her for who she is (not a lap kitty) and be patient with all her quirks, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 5/5/14 Henri is a quiet, gentle kitty who would love to have a quiet home to call his own, with a patient human who will take the time to give Henri love and attention. Henri was returned because his owners described him as hiding and being anxious, though he had a very close bond with the 12 year old son in the home. While Henri is not confident around the many cats at the sanctuary, when our volunteers give him one on one attention, telling him what a splendid kitty he is, Henri responds with elevator butt and it is clear that he really, really enjoys getting affection. We believe that all this young boy needs is a quiet and safe place to call home and he will come out of his shell. And how can anyone resist that cute black nose?! It takes him a while to adapt to other cats.    He has a deformed front leg, so he is a tripod, but it doesn’t stop him from running around the house yelling for joy. He also likes to climb up high   He is in excellent health and recently had a dental. DOB: 7/7/18   Jasper is a fun-loving, curious, energetic little guy. He loves showing off his athletic ability and insists you make sure to notice him.  If you’re busy, though, that’s fine! This happy-go-lucky kitty can entertain himself with his toys or anything he can get his little paws on!  He also has his brother and playmate, Moishe. Between the two of them, Jasper is the instigator. Moishe is happy to lay lazily in the sun, just not enough to refuse a challenge from Jasper.  The two of them love to wrestle, but don’t let Jasper’s tough-guy jock persona fool you. You’ll catch him curled up and cuddling with his brother from time to time, which is just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.  Jasper’s independent and outgoing nature would make it easy for him to acclimate to home without his brother, as long as he has another kitty friend that is willing to play with him! But together, these two brothers would make a great addition to your household.  They are fun and funny, and sure to provide you with endless entertainment. DOB: 11/1/14 Hello cat people! My name is Jennifer. I am a very loving, cuddly, sweet and friendly little girl who is guaranteed to bring lots of affection and fun into your life.  I was rescued in Istanbul. I am very happy I was brought to Los Angeles and got a place in foster care. I will be even happier once I find my forever home.  I love getting petted, and lounging on your lap. I stretch and purr as you pet me. My foster mom often cradles me like a baby. I like following my people around the house and rubbing against their legs. While I am pretty mellow and really enjoy being close to and spending time with my humans, I also love my kitty friends. I am good with both boy kitties and girls kitties. When I was a baby, my eyes got infected and as a result I got scars over them. I have been to a very good ophthalmologist and she determined that while it is reduced I have vision in both eyes. Indeed, I can get around and function just fine. I can do everything my kitty friends do. I am just not as agile as some of them.   I am spayed, de-flead, dewormed, tested for FIV/FELV (negative for both) and up to date with my vaccinations.  Kisses & Purrs Jennifer If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 8/23/17 'Oh, there's no place like a forever home for the holidays!'  And here are two handsome, year old tabby brothers, Joshua and Matthew, who would love to find their forever home with you. Joshua, the smaller of the two kitties, is extremely sweet and affectionate.  Joshua loves playing and racing with brother Matthew all round their foster mum's house to see who can climb the cat tree fastest, and fall asleep first!  When not scouting new napping spots, Joshua is most content observing everything from their cat tree beside the window, or joining Matthew to relax on a sun filled window sill.  Matthew, the 'big brother,' is also very sweet, and loves fetching nearly anything made of paper.  Matthew is a bit bolder than Joshua, mischievously forging ahead while Joshua bravely stands as lookout. These energetic gentleman are very curious, and always want to know what their foster mum is doing, especially if it might involve getting some treats!     Though not lap cats, Joshua and Matthew follow their foster mum  everywhere, and will stretch out nearby to keep her company.  And no matter how far away you roam, Joshua and Matthew will greet you at the door when you return.  While Joshua and Matthew are brothers, they can be adopted separately to loving, adult homes where they would thrive and provide excellent companionship. DOB: 6/11/17 Meet Kit Kat and Karla! These two kitties have formed a VERY special bond and must be adopted together. Kit Kat’s original owners had a new baby and decided they no longer wanted her. They were going to dump her at the shelter but Kitten Rescue stepped up to foster her. She was severely depressed and traumatized from the abandonment, until she met Karla.    They became inseparable almost instantly. They are constantly snuggling and grooming each other. Kit Kat even lets Karla nurse on her like a Mama kitty and her kitten. Kit Kat is super affectionate and a talker. She is the first to greet me when I walk in the door and insists on pets. Karla is a sweetheart too but a little shy at first. These two are also quite playful as they are still very young. They get along with most other cats and cat friendly dogs too. DOB: 8/29/17 Kitty Pride is a nerdball who doesn’t even know how to meow! Okay, he does, but it takes about five or six silent meows before the old voice box kicks in. He’s a chill little dude who was raised as a bottle baby with his foster siblings Zula, Barbarossa, and Tribble, and he’d love to find a home with one of them. He’d probably also warm up to another playful kitty, but also gets along with the resident adult cats. He’s never met a dog but he’s relatively chill so there’s a chance he’d adapt to a dog happy home. One caveat with Kitty Pride -- somewhere in his infancy he contracted a bacterial bug that occasionally affects his digestion. He gets bouts of diarrhea and there’s no way to sell this as a feature--it’s definitely a bug. And despite numerous rounds of meds it hasn't quite been defeated. However, over time it has gotten much less frequent and he might grow out of it all together. Plus--he always uses his box. It’s a small flaw in such an amazing kitty. DOB: 8/18/17 Lilo was discovered in some bushes in Pasadena, not far from the Pasadena Humane Society.  She was screaming her little head off for attention and some kind folks snapped her up and she landed in Kitten Rescue’s able arms.  A bit small for her age, she has grown in leaps and bounds and loves to play.  Lilo is a busy girl, she pretty much is always on the go—though she is attached to her human foster mom and enjoys taking hour-long naps on mom’s chest when she can.  Lilo is a great hunter; she loves to carry her toys around and even likes to play fetch!  She will bring her toys to you when she’s ready to play!  She needs to be in a home where she gets plenty of human attention.  She really likes to interact with her human foster mom.  She may take a little while to get used to her new home and other pets—thus an experienced kitty guardian is suggested for her. DOB: 3/1/09 As you can see, Lindy is a big beautiful dilute tortie with expressive green eyes. (I can always tell when she is irritated with me - those eyes will just stare at me!) Her 2 front feet are different colors - one is grey and the other is brown. Her fur is a stunning mix of grey, light brown and cream. She has some of the traits of a British Shorthair - the full face, short thick fur, sturdy body, etc. This wonderful girl is a sweet, loving kitty who will sleep with you at night. She will sit in your lap and loves to be petted, especially chin and ear rubs. She has a soft meow and will reward you with contented purrs. She loves to explore women's purses and will sit in them. She absolutely loves to be brushed (which helps to keep furballs to a minimum). Lindy has been in foster care too long. Her brothers were all adopted years ago - so it is finally her time! She loves to be 'queen of the castle' so a home with a less dominant, easy going kitty would be OK or she can definitely be an only kitty.  Lindy will bring so much laughter and happiness into your life. DOB: 5/15/12 Lionel is a handsome young kitty.  He is a short-haired orange mackerel tabby, with a cute dark orange necklace that has a small white “locket” in the middle of his neck; his own natural cute collar.  He’s a prince in the making!  Trapped as a wild, young kitten at about 9 weeks, he spent a couple years being socialized in a foster home before taking up residency at the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary.  Lionel absolutely LOVES to chase the laser light, as well as play with wand toys.  He is a somewhat mild-mannered young man, and though he is not a cuddly lap kitty, he does enjoy being pet and having his ears, chin, and cheeks scratched.  Occasionally he will jump up on a lap and take a nap.   Lionel should do well in a somewhat quiet home, where his human family will play with him often, and engage him in their everyday activities.  Lionel can be curious and is still learning the ways of a house-cat—and learns by example.  Having a super friendly kitty friend would encourage Lionel to love on his people as the kitty friend does.  Lionel tends to be very shy around new people, so it may take him a little while to learn to trust his new family.  Engaging him in play would surely accelerate this trust.   Lionel is good with other kitties, though he's never really been exposed to dogs.He is neutered, current on vaccinations, has no fleas or worms, and is microchipped. DOB: 10/15/14 Hi there potential mommy or daddy!   I am Loki, a gorgeous girl with white fur featuring very interesting and artsy black markings. My sister Luna (S539) and I are an amazing bonded kitty pair.    We were rescued together as kittens in Istanbul, Turkey by a nice rescue person who brought us over to LA and got us into foster care. After a while we found a great home together. However, due to some serious health issues our previous humans are facing, we lost our forever home. Now we would love to find a loving new purrover home together.   We are a great pair of girlies. We like giving and receiving affection, snuggling with you, hanging out on your lap. We lived with young children in the past and we were very patient with them.    We like to play with each other and with toys, and in the past we lived with both boy kitties and girl kitties and we got along with them all just fine.   We know most humans looking to adopt a kitty want young kittens, and we also know finding a home for a bonded pair is not easy, but would you take a chance on us? Give us a second chance at a forever loving home?  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB:  3/1/18 Lucy is named after Lucille Ball and lives up to her name every single day. She’s like a little fluffy comedic genius and never disappoints when you are in need of a good laugh. She’s also full of unconditional love, lots of kisses, and lots of purrs. In addition to being full of love, she is also full of joy. Pretty much everything she does is cute! She’s curious, playful, and very silly. Did I mention playful? Lucy just loves playing with other kitties, trying to swipe their feather teaser toys, playing with stuffed chew mice, anything that rolls and makes noise, and, hide and seek. She is also especially fond of a good meal.  She is independent, sweet natured, and filled with admiration so much so that she purrs every time she sees you. It's impossible not to love her or feel love when they’re around.  She also get along swimmingly with other cats and people. She’s never met a dog but knowing her if the dog will play Lucy will be in.   Lucy is looking for a forever home with other cats to play and cuddle with and people who will love and cuddle her forever. DOB: 10/15/14 Hello dear cat lover,   I am Luna, a gorgeous dilute calico girl with partial tabby markings, and my sister Loki (R539) and I are an amazing bonded kitty pair. DOB: 4/16/18 Grain-free wet & raw food diet. Luna is a very sweet, affectionate snowshoe/siamese mix with a thick soft velvety coat and a wonderful disposition. She has a lovely, balanced personality in that she enjoys playtime with her favorite toys and animal friends, likes to visit and brush by you for a nice belly rub, and usually settles in to enjoy a window or sit on the couch for the afternoon. Luna likes to move around and explore. She is a little less interested in being held for long periods or in-your-face hug time, but does like to sit with you and is increasingly enjoying focused attention. She generally prefers to be on her feet, brushing by sweetly, rolling on her back for lots of petting and affectionate play. She is mildly vocal in a chatty way, making little trills and coos to get the attention of her animal buddies, but doesn’t do any crying or begging. Luna also has some mature cat qualities in that she likes to sit and do her own thing in the same room with you without needing a lot of attention, so she would be great for someone who works from home but needs their cat to stay off the keyboard. Luna spent her kitten months in a house with 2 small dogs and is accustomed to having some animal play buddies. She warmed up to my other foster kittens within a week and has learned to play with little guys gently. While she is a teen and could be an only cat, I can see she would benefit from and very much enjoy an animal friend to play with, and since she is young, she still integrates quickly with other pets. Currently she is friends with my younger kitten, Hematite. DOB: 5/21/18 Mango, part of a litter of 4, arrived at a city shelter without their mama at age 1 week. Kitten Rescue took them, and Mango with her brother Guava were bottle fed in the KR Nursery. Then they went to a foster, and when weaned, to another foster. Now they're ready for their forever homes! Mango, a typical sweet bottle baby, loves to play with her brother and also her foster siblings, and the adult cats in the household. She's cuddly, purrs to the touch, and loves to be petted. She adjusted immediately to her new foster home, accepting all the new cats right away. She's fine with the small dogs who live there too. She's glamorous with her dark grey/light grey classic tabby coat. Because she's young, she needs to live with another kitten. Of course the ideal choice is her litter mate Guava (ID# B651), but if you have a playful young cat who needs a playmate, that would be good too. DOB: 4/4/11 ******SPECIAL NEEDS***** Maui spent years living on the streets, being looked after by a person who made sure he had water and food every day. When it was time for his care taker to move, Maui found his way to Kitten Rescue. This is a big, easy going cat who really enjoys hanging out and chillin' most of the day, especially with his stuffed toys. He is looking for a super special person to love and adopt him, because not only is he FIV positive, he also has asthma. We are getting Maui used to the inhaler. We hope someone will give this big easy going fellow a chance to have his own home! Maui has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here for a basic FAQ about FIV. If you'd like to read a much more detailed and comprehensive FAQ about FIV, we recommend this site. DOB: 7/14/14 Maya is a lovely big longhaired black beauty. She was rescued from the shelter at six weeks old just the day before she was scheduled to be put down. Her owner came to the shelter to adopt a dog, saw the black little kitten that was scheduled to be euthanized, and came home with a dog and and a cat. Maya’s owner recently was diagnosed with lyme desease and her health and lung capacity has greatly declined. She now has severe allergies towards cats, and in the efforts to try to get her lung capacity back, she has to give Maya up. Naturally, she and the rest of the family are very sad to have to give her up. Maya is a calm, very friendly, and playful cat. She has a stoic presence. She loves people and gets along with the other cats in her foster home. If you let her, she will snuggle up with you at night or in the morning if there isn’t too much competition from other furry friends. If so, she rather find a comfy spot in the closet or on the closed in balcony. DOB: 8/30/15 Meridia, beautiful to behold, but behold from afar, as this shy, 'soft feral' kitty will take time to let you get close. So, why do we think anyone would want to adopt her if they can't hold her and cuddle her? Because Meridia enjoys the company of other cats and could be the perfect companion for your kitty! Or because you love cats and love challenges! Plus, Meridia is awfully cute. Meridia was pulled from the pound with her kittens, and she was such a great mommy and once her kittens were weaned, she came to live at our sanctuary with other shy kitties. But we have found that with time, she will let some of the staff and volunteers pet her. Just her nose, and she flattens her ears and makes the kind of face a kid does when their Auntie is spit cleaning a dirt smudge of their face, but it's contact!  We think she'll come around with time and patience (probably). DOB: 8/9/15 Miss Ellie was brought to a city shelter as a stray, full of milk but with no kittens. Luckily, a litter of neonate kittens was brought in at the same time, who didn't have a mommy cat to nurse them. Sometimes things are just meant to be. Miss Ellie has taken excellent care of her kittens, which was witnessed by people around the country and around the world on Explore.org's live streaming kitten camera. ( http://explore.org/live-cams/player/kitten-rescue-cam) Three of Miss Ellie's kittens have been adopted, and the other two are weaned and able to care for themselves now, so Miss Ellie is looking for a home to call her own. Miss Ellie has shown that she is a very special kitty and she needs a very special home. She is on the shy side and will take time to adjust to her new home. Once she gets comfortable, she will give you elevator butt and low, quiet purring. She is not a confident kitty, but she is a loving girl, given time. Her ideal home will be a quiet one, with a patient, gentle someone who has time to spend with her as she gets comfortable in her new home. Most importantly, she should be cherished. Miss Ellie resides in the Los Angeles area. **All kitties available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, FIV-FeLV tested, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and have had flea meds administered ***** If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 7/7/18 Moishe is a clever, cuddly, and silly kitty!  He enjoys sleeping on the sunny spot of the rug or on the couch with his favorite blanket, and he loves sleeping in your bed with you at night! Moishe also loves his brother, Jasper. Moishe will watch Jasper chase his toys from the sidelines, but he’s not one to miss out on all the fun!  He is energetic and playful; he just likes to figure out a strategy before he dives in, making you realize there is more than meets the eye with this little one!  He gets especially crafty when it comes to his food. He loves to eat. Wrestling with Jasper all day certainly works up an appetite! When Moishe and Jasper team up, nothing can stop them from defeating any cardboard box! These two will have you laughing for hours, and then clutching your heart the next moment because, honestly, it’s just too cute sometimes. DOB: 7/1/17 Mona has proven so much more affectionate than we expected, we realized we did not need to TNR her after we rescued her and her kittens. She is very happy to be indoors, and definitely a house cat.  Every time we come in the room she gets up and is the first to greet us and rub up against us. She loves to head-butt your hand, and enjoys being pet. When you pet her she walks around ‘making biscuits/kneading the dough” in happiness while she is walking, which makes it look like she’s tap-dancing or marching.  When she is comfortable, she loves to roll around on her back. She occasionally will give a little GENTLE love bite, especially when she is being pet a lot. She has been spayed, so her Momma days are done, but she gets along well with her kittens, especially her mini-me, Vinny, and she  would probably do best going with one of them to her forever home.. DOB: 7/11/13 I’m Big!  I’m Bad!  I’m Moosh!  Not only am I devilishly handsome, but my personality is a treat that can’t be beat.  I am confident, smart, curious, attentive, and probably just a little dog in a big cat’s clothing.  If this sounds what you’re looking for – read on.   Ambitions?   To be adopted by someone who has an excellent sense of humor and to perhaps, visit Mars.  (I will always keep you laughing.)  Turn-ons?  Laps, boxes, soft toys that I can bat around, kisses from head to toe, and staring lovingly into human eyes.  (I want to be your love muffin.) Turn-offs?  Singing YouTube babies and car-rides.  (‘Nuff said.) Hidden talent?  I can jump 3+ feet into the air to catch real AND imaginary bugs and toys.  (Try me.)  The way to a human’s heart?  Cuteness, persistence and when all else fails – throw yourself in front of them when they are walking and block the path (or sit on their head).   (What can I say?  I can be a bit…er…demanding.)  I don’t necessarily need another cat around for company but I’ve been with others my whole life and would do okay with one or two!  I was rescued with my siblings and my mom from a parking lot when I was just hours old.  Sometimes black cats don’t find homes right away and I’m still waiting for mine.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 2/14/18 Mr. Green arrived in his rescuer's backyard as a kitten, thin and hungry. She couldn't keep him, so found Kitten Rescue and his foster mama. He wasn't accustomed to living in a room in a house and was very scared for a week. But a few weeks later he relaxed, became super affectionate, very friendly with his younger foster siblings, playful, purring, asking for love. It's possible that he might be scared in a new house, so we ask for your patience, to give him time. He'll  regain confidence and relax again! Soon he'll be begging for love and purring again. It would be best if you either have a young cat for him to play with, or if you adopt one of his foster siblings. He'll gaze into your eyes with his startling green eyes while he purrs for you. Mr Green and Cate have fallen in love and are now bonded. I noticed that she did not fear touch so I decided not to release her and try to socialize her as there are no feeders in the lot and the cats hop the fence to eat out of restaurant trash cans. It has been a slow process but she has become just the sweetest petite kitty. She doesn't much enjoy being picked up and held but will come to u for pets, rubs and cuddles all day long. She is very cat social and loves to play. I also have 4 small dogs that are cat social and she has become trusting of them but runs when they get to close. DOB: 8/1/17 Opie (CF7961) and Rusty (CF7960) are bonded twin brothers looking for a forever home. They are quite the little pair - they play together, eat together, nap together and wrestle together. And look so darn cute doing everything together. They absolutely love to chase the cat wand and are quite the little acrobats, jumping, twirling and flipping in the air while trying to catch the toy dangling at the end of the wand. When it comes to nap time, they look like a big orange puddle, sometimes it is hard to tell where one brother ends and the other begins. Opie is a friendly, cuddle bug that will seek out love, affection and a warm, comfortable lap. Rusty is a little more reserved when he meets new people, but food and the cat wand are the way to earn his trust and affection. They both sound like purring engines when you pet them. If you want to meet Rusty (CF7960) and Opie (CF7961) to see what an awesome pair of kitties they are, their foster mom is happy to arrange a playdate.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 3/17/12 *****SPECIAL NEEDS**** *****HAS LIVED WITH DOGS AND SMALL CHILDREN********   You would think that being born on St. Patrick's day would have given Pearlie and her little kitty family a bit of good luck, but sadly, just the opposite happened. Pearlie and her siblings were born to their mom in a storm drain during a very harsh storm and when they were found the next day, they were barely alive. The foster parent had to tube feed the little kittens because they were too sick to nurse on mom, and mom was too sick to care for her kittens. After months of medical attention and effort, the kittens recovered to varying degrees. Pearlie lost an eye, has a chronically stuffy nosy and also has a touch of a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. The CH means she has a slightly wobbly walk, but she is highly functional and can walk and play and use a litter box just fine.    Pearlie would love to be adopted with her sister Belle, who looks just like her. Belle and Pearlie curl up and sleep together, and they love to hang out together throughout the day. Pearlie would love a home with someone who can see the 'special' and doesn't mind the 'needs'. This little girl is affectionate, calm, outgoing and social. Pearlie has lived with small dogs and young children and is comfortable with them.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 4/5/15 Hail the beautiful Queen Philippa! This slim, sleek, and an oh-so-dainty calico has enough energy and charisma to rule a kingdom. At first she may seem wild and carefree, but as soon as you hold her she melts into a puddle of purrs and pure love. Little Philippa loves romping, kisses, and heights! She has a high metabolism and MUST live in an environment where she is allowed to CLIMB. She would love to be adopted with her Foster-Sister Figaro. Her sensitive stomach requires a strict raw food diet. DOB: 4/1/17 Phoenix is a handsome young man with a gorgeous tuxedo coat, a gentle disposition and a chill personality. He loves to cuddle and will seek you out with a cute “meow” to ask for a cuddle session. He spends his afternoons lounging in the coolest spots he can find on a hot day. He especially loves to find a perch near the window and watch the birds and butterflies go by. When it is playtime, he will entertain himself with his favorite cat toys. He also really loves to chase lasers and toys attached to the end of cat wands. Phoenix is a great daddy figure to the young foster kittens he shares a home with. He plays with them, grooms them and naps beside them.   He has one enlarged pupil as a result of an untreated infection while he was living on the street. The vet said his eye is completely healed and he can still see out of it. He also has a bob-tail from an injury he suffered on the street. That too is 100% healed. Phoenix is a happy, healthy young man that is grateful to be saved from a harsh life on the street and he is eager to find a forever family he can call his own. Phoenix is pretty easy going so he would be okay as an only cat or adopted with one of his foster siblings or adopted into a home with an existing kitty. If you want to meet Phoenix and see for yourself what a special guy he is,  you can make arrangements with their foster mom. DOB: 1/11/16 Pinkerton is a good natured kitty who found himself on hard times when his humans became homeless. He lived with them outside for a while, but when his people were forced to move from their encampment, he was left behind. We think his people knew he would be looked after because there was a feral cat colony near by with a regular feeder, so Pinkerton mosied on down to where the food bowl was and settled in.    Pinkerton is reacclimating to being indoors, and he thinks it's pretty awesome! Once he settles in, he likes ear scratches, affection, playing and hanging out with his humans.    Pinkerton's ideal home will be with someone who is patient and has a quiet home. He is not skittish or super shy, but he does need some understanding and a little time to acclimate. You can see he is a sensitive and expressive kitty from his pictures. DOB: 3/15/15   Hello there.  My name is Pippen.  I'm a tiny little tuxedo kitten with little white toes and long white whiskers.  They tell me I am too adorable for words, and I look like a cross between a monkey and a hamster.  I was found stuffed into a bird cage on a patio in the hot sun with 20 other kittens.  It was not a great beginning, but then Kitten Rescue saved us and life got better!  Even though I am little, I love to play with the other kittens in my foster home, including the bigger kittens.  Sometimes I get beat up because I am so small, but I go right back in for more!  I am no quitter and I don't back down easy!  I'm not even scared of the two dogs in my foster home (they are small and calm though, I am not sure how I would feel about large or high-energy dogs, but with proper introduction I think I would probably be fine).   When I am not playing, I love to cuddle and be kissed, and I can purr up a storm.  I promise if you adopt me you will love me and I'll love you forever and ever.  Please come and meet me.  Thank you!  Love, Pippen. DOB: 5/5/2014 Pippi and her siblings, Skeeter, Potter and Beatrice, were rescued from the LA City Shelter system when they were just 4 weeks old.  Dressed for every occasion from the tips of her white paws to the end of black tail, Pippi is perfect for every home.  She loves to play with toys and is a huge cuddler.  She gets along famously with other cats and absolutely adores dogs!!  Pippi really loves her sister Beatrice, they love each other and spend lots of time in embraces and kisses.  It would be wonderful for them to find a home together, but as long as Pippi has another kitty to play with she will be very happy. Very shy at first but definitely wants to be around you. DOB: 7/25/18 This little boy is simply a bundle of rambunctious joy. As a bottle baby his little round belly, and curious nature always made me think of Winnie the Pooh. I could just see him sitting with his paw stuck in a jar of honey. There is no doubt that he is an alpha male, as he was always the first of his litter mates to do everything. He loves to climb and lead his sisters in games of “follow the leader”. He is a love bug too, and his loud motor starts running the minute you start to pet him. He will lay on his back in your arms and let you stroke his face and rub his belly, sometimes until he is fast asleep. His favorite toys are his catnip elephant and a thick fabric ribbon, which he can entertain himself with for long periods of time. Pooh is very bonded with his litter mates, so any adopter must have a young cat at home or be willing to adopt him with one of his beautiful sisters, Sylvie, Butterfly, or Tipper. DOB:  12/08/09 Queen is a beautiful and elegant white cat with green eyes who is sweet but very shy with new people. After some hard knocks on the street, Queen is looking for a safe and loving home as an only cat where she will be treated as royalty, of course!  Though Queen has tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS), she is confidant that it does not change her royal status since FIV is not really a big deal. Given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat and is not transmissable to humans. DOB: 8/15/10 Queen Teuta of Illyria is a retired three-legged pirate cat who's ready to make your lap her new throne. Her first four years of life will remain a mystery but at some point her ship ran aground on the fantastical isle of Hollywood where she survived by her wits alone. Finally a passing rescue ship took pity on her and she joined the crew of the HMS Kitten Rescue. However, Queen Teuta is not a fan of swabbing decks and furling sails and would like to regain her once royal status in a new Kingdom. She seeks a warm lap for her throne, delicious snacks to eat, and loving hands to scritch her royal ears.  She is a true Queen and as such does not like to mix with the little cats of the world – though she might be convinced to share her kingdom with the right kind of subject, maybe even the canine kind. Queen Teuta has a royal temperament and although she will shower you with affection most of the time she prefers if attention were paid to the royal head and not the royal back or royal legs unless she's feeling particularly magnanimous.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 4/2015 Robin is a quirky, silly, smart, and affectionate little orange cat. She was bottle fed as a baby and is very attached to humans. She and her foster brother were adopted into a ruckus household of young musicians and through no fault of her own, she and her foster brother were returned three years later. She is naturally outgoing, playful, and loving. She does fine with other cats, but because she hasn’t gotten the attention she needs for a while now, she often gets annoyed with them – especially if they get in the way of her getting pats! Her ideal companion would be a respectful kitty, like her brother, Bear, or a smaller kitty who she could play with more easily. She would also do well as an only kitty, if her humans were around a lot. Robin likes everyone, but she is wanting very much to bond primarily with just one or two people. Her new humans would need to be patient with her as she gets comfortable in a permanent, loving, and more predictable home. In return, she will reward them with loyalty, companionship, and entertainment for years and years. DOB: 9/30/09 Hi!  My name is Rochana but I am called Ro-Ro and that’s what I answer to. Born behind a Thai food joint, I struggled some. Lots of feral cats and I was tiny and weak. They mostly put out rice for us with bits of spicy meat. To this day, the aroma of well seasoned food makes me come running to see what it is. At 8 weeks, I had twinkly, button-like eyes, and my tiny face was spotted with road tar. Once scrubbed, I emerged as a beautiful, black, bashful kitten. Today, I’m amazing looking. (It’s o.k. to be a little vain, right?)  I am still petite which makes me appear younger than I am. Some comment that I could pass for 9 months old. I get by on my looks. My favorite hangout is highest point in the house, the arched eyebrow window in the loft, where I watch the world go by. I sit up there for hours contemplating questions like “Why don’t I have thumbs?” and “Why would I bring someone bad luck?” I admit playing hard to get. My caretaker tries to grab me all the time. She calls it Hug Therapy. Sometimes it’s o.k. The next day, not so much.  But I can’t resist a lower back scratch. Cappy is my playmate. He has lightning-fast ninja moves and jumps onto me meowing, “Aaahhhiii-yaaay!”  He’s very young so I guess I am a cougar. And he thinks I smell nice. DOB: 5/16/18 Roman greets everyone and is all boy with his endless enthusiasm, energy and  curiosity. When you bring home groceries he wants to inspect everything, when you sweep, he wants to 'help'. He charms everyone he meets. He and his sister Amalia are darling kitties!  They are energetic & playful with distinct marking and spotted bellies. They have sharp pointed ears like the original Egyptian cats. Amalia is a well mannered, curious and charismatic angel! Everything is the 'funnest thing in the world' to these kitties. They are so full of joy and curiosity about everything. They are fostered with other kitties and love other cats. They would be a great companion for a friendly cat or would love to be adopted together. Roman would not be happy as a single kitty because he is very social and thrives with other cats. DOB: 4/5/07 HANDSOME BLUE-EYED LYNX-POINT LOOKING FOR NEW HOME My human mom got a terrible disease called cancer and she had to give me up; so I am again looking for my fur-ever home!  I love keeping your bed pillow warm at night, long rolls in catnip flakes, and chasing chords/ropes with my human for hours of playtime!  I have a Master’s Degree in litter box habits, and a Ph.D. in schmoozing.  I’ll rub on your legs forever if you’ll let me!  I’m a good sized kitty, about 12 pounds, have gorgeous and expressive blue eyes and a lovely blue-cream lynx-pointed Siamese cat coat.  I would love to have a home of my own, and share it with a couple adult humans and maybe another younger than me kitty – though I think it would be nice to be alone with my people too, but no young children. My foster mom calls me Romeo—because I’m such a lover!  If you are interested in learning more about Romeo or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 7/24/17 Rooty Tooty is a super sweet little girl who loves following her hoomans around, sitting on laps and purring. This cuddly little lovergirl is super affectionate and loving. She and her sister Pizookie were bottle babies in our nursery, so they are extra affectionate and human friendly. Rooty’s favorite thing is to sit on your lap and purr. She greets her hoomans at the door, and loves everyone she meets. She loves to bounce around with her sister and then check in with her hoomans for pets and cuddles. Rooty Tooty would love a home with her sister Pizookie or to be the only cat in your life. She gets along with other cats after a proper intro period, but is a bit of an alpha so should not be paired with submissive or super alpha cats. DOB: 6/1/10Roxie loves people. She loves to be petted and stroked and, most of all, fed. See, for a scary few months when she was a kitten, Roxie wasn’t certain where her next meal would come from, or even if there’d be one. One day she had a home, the next her humans moved and left her behind. Luckily, some neighbors came to her rescue. Though she doesn’t hold any grudges against people, Roxie’s got scars from being knocked around by the big, tough cats in her ‘hood, so she would prefer to be the only furry critter in her forever home. Roxie is spunky and spirited, playful and fun. Give her love and she’ll return your affection ten-fold! • Gorgeously silky, shiny black coat • Cute & quirky pointed ears • Fully tested and vaccinated • Spayed & Microchipped If you are interested in learning more about Roxie or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 3/26/18 & 4/9/18 Noah and Ryder are 'brothers from another mother.'  These two boys may not be litter mates, but they've been together most of their lives and can't imagine being separated!  Together, they run around, wrestle, and box each other, then settle in on the couch or in the sink for a nap.  They love to play with yarn, teaser toys, and even a human's long hair.  They are absolutely the sweetest boys.  You can follow their adventures on Instagram (@supremecatjustices) Ryder is white with black spots - he's the oldest (by 2 whole weeks!) and it shows.  He's the cool older brother that pretends he doesn't care if his human gives him love.  That lasts about 3 days, until he remembers how much he loves pets and cuddles, and he gives in.  He's also super smart  - he learned right away where to go at dinner time (so his foster mom can keep her own cats from stealing his food) and Noah follows him there, making dinner time is easy as pie.  Noah, the tabby, is the overexcited little brother who wants to be friends with everyone he meets - human or feline alike.  He doesn't always notice if they don't want to be friends with him, though.  Fortunately, he's always got his BFF Ryder around if the other kitties don't want to play with him.  He has one of the cutest kitten faces ever!  He's very talkative and just loves kisses - he likes to follow his human around asking to picked up!  He comes running to join the fun anytime Ryder is getting attention, but Ryder doesn't mind at all.   If you are interested in learning more about these kitties or in adopting them, please click here to email their foster parent. DOB: 7/17/18 The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the rescue kitten:  Rescued with her four siblings from the streets of West Los Angeles, Sabrina came to Kitten Rescue a frightened, feral little kitten who could not be held or touched.  After patient fostering, she is now a sweet, playful little purr machine who loves morning cuddles.  Quite the vocal chatterbug, Sabrina sometimes tries to talk and eat at the same time, and will always chirp to let you know when it is playtime.  She loves to chase after any toy on a wand and to bat around and wrestle with mice and bouncy balls.  Sabrina’s favorite activity is sitting in the windowsill and watching the birds in the big tree outside.  Sabrina loves other cats and will try to play and snuggle with them, rubbing up against them and following them all over the house.  She would be a perfect buddy and would love to go to a home with another young cat or kitten she could wrestle, play and snuggle up to.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 5/2011 Samson is a gorgeous, small black panther with a loving, sweet personality. He was born in May, 2011. He has already been neutered. He loves to be petted and when he feels that he is not getting enough he will sit on your lap while you are on the toilet so he has a captive audience to be petted. He always comes when his name is called and will answer with a meow. His eyes change color from green to orange, which is the first time that I have seen that happen. He loves to play, especially with the laser pointer. He also enjoys catnip, A LOT! He is socialized and doesn't mind being with other kitties. Not sure about a dog, I don't know if he has ever seen a dog. Samson has two brothers that each have there own personality. He is much smaller than his brothers. From his sleek black and white tuxedo fur coat to his sophisticated white moustache and whiskers, he is a young debonair gentleman...err, gentlekitty. Santana is a petite little guy with a sweet personality. He loves to cuddle and get attention but you have to earn his trust first. One way to do that is through his tummy...he loves wet food and he especially loves treats of shredded chicken. Another way is to play with him - he loves to chase the cat wand and chase toys across the floor. He is a young kitty that likes to spend the afternoon playing with his foster siblings. So he needs to be adopted together with another kitty or into a home with an existing kitty for him to play and socialize with. DOB: 3/21/14  Hello there! I am Selene. As you can see, I am super photogenic and elegant kitty. I truly believe I have the potential to be the queen of the house. I am independent and don’t need much stimulation. If need something, don’t worry I’ll let you know, I have the cutest voice when I demand attention.  I will need a human that will surrender to all this cuteness and fluffiness but that one person will have to understand that I need time to get used to them.  I was abused as a kitten so it will take a very long time in human in years to get used to you and I am don’t do great with kids. I am good with other animals including dogs! Please understand that I will be scared and will probably hide most of the time.  I have only had one home with my foster since I was rescued so any new places can be overwhelming.  If you think you can change my life and make me trust humans again, please contact my foster mom. DOB: 9/15/15 Snoop is a staff and volunteer favorite at the sanctuary. This guy is a high energy, curious, quirky kitty. He likes to find new places to explore, climbing, burrowing, looking at you from on top of shelves and chirping as he is doing it all!  Snoop has had corrective surgery to fix eye lashes that were growing inward and he also has a condition of his eyes called coloboma which means that his iris' did not develop normally, but not to worry! This condition does not need any extra attention. Snoop's downside is that he has shown some errant urination here at the sanctuary. Now that that is out in the open, we are hoping that someone will take a chance on him, because we think he may have regular box usage if he is an only cat. And he really is awesome! If someone were to adopt him, or take him for a trial run, we would recommend putting him in a bathroom with a litter box for starters and seeing how he does. We KNOW this is a loooooong shot, but as the saying goes, 'You can't win if you don't play.' Here's to hope! DOB: 9/25/18 Snowflake is a gorgeous puff ball who enjoys life to its fullest and makes everyone fall in love with her. She loves to play hard, sleep in ridiculously adorable positions, and eat. She’s daring and inquisitive, always looking for new forms of entertainment and investigating what her people are doing. She purrs easily and likes to knead and lick. Her fur is SOOOO soft and fluffy! If you are looking for a kitten that is good with kids, this is her! She’d be an ideal companion for adults or families. Snowflake has one sister, the adorable Winter, yin to her yang, and they need to be adopted together. You’ll find them curled up together, grooming one another, or playing all day long. Their hide-and-seek wrestling games will have you laughing out loud. They were transferred to a foster home at six weeks old and are healthy, happy, and ready to find their forever home! Winter is quietly adorable. She chirps when she wants to be pet, purrs loudly, and loves to have her belly scratched. She adores toys on strings and will follow a laser pointer for hours. She has one favorite sleeping spot, on top of the couch, but she also loves hiding in small spaces or under blankets—she will sometimes squeeze herself between you and the couch cushion, happily hiding in plain sight. She is a wonderful playmate for kids and is very easy to care for. Winter is more reserved than her sister, the dashing Snowflake, but she will steal your heart. She needs to be adopted with her sister and best friend, with whom she shares everything. If you want two inseparable, lovable kittens––one black, one white––then you found your match! DOB: 3/15/18 Starr is a spunky, feisty, petite panther with a beautiful, soft, sleek fur coat. She is almost a year old and still looks like a kitten so it is especially cute to see such sassiness coming from such a little thing. One thing Starr loves is attention and affection. She will follow you from room to room and hop around like a little monkey trying to persuade you to give her some cuddle time. And who can resist her cute little antics? She also likes to play with her cat toys - chasing balls around in circles or claiming a catnip mouse and carrying it around in her mouth in between wrestling sessions with it. Starr would do best adopted together with her twin brother Ringo (CF#8503) or into a single cat household with people that are not away for 10-12 hours at a time, because she LOVES her brother and she LOVES people to give her attention. DOB: 4/24/2018 TholianPixie Dust is an amazing, sweet little angel full of purrs and cuddles. She loves to be held and purrs to the touch. A bit of a shoulder cat, when you pick her up she will climb onto your shoulder and sit like a parrot or sometimes wrap herself around your neck like a furry shawl. Careful though, she’s also a bit of a klutz and might fall off lol!  Pixie Dust has been around humans since before she could see and hear, so she loves them and is super affectionate with them. She loves to gently suckle on a human hand and knead and purr. She’s full of love and also just a tiny bit of spitfire, for she is very active and loves to chase and wrestle with her brother. She’s also very vocal when she doesn't like something - like having to ride to the vet in a carrier, which she had to do a lot as a baby because she had a really bad eye infection. The infection is gone and thanks to the skills of her veterinary ophthalmologist, the eye was saved. There are some noticeable visual effects of the infection (scar tissue) and her eyesight will likely never be 100%, but her doctor says it will continue to improve over time - we just don’t know to what final extent. Pixie Dust is great with other kittens and cats, children, and would adapt well to a cat friendly dog. She is bonded with her brother, Dilithium, and they must go to a home together.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. She brought us home and found homes for my babies and now I'm looking for my forever home too. She says she knows that I had a home at some point because I am very sweet and tame but I did not have a microchip.         I like long naps in the sun and napping with my foster Mom. I especially like to snuggle next to her at bedtime.  I prefer a home where I am the ONLY kitty. DOB: 8/8/2018 Hi-I’m Tinkerbell! I’m an adorable dilute Tortie with super fuzzy medium-long gray fur and a round little barrel of a body-I’m going to be a big, furry girl! I have gorgeous gray-green eyes, a sweet little half pink, half gray nose and chin, and peachy-orange stripes and spots on my sides and belly. I love to play and I have as much if not more energy than my sister Wendy…I sleep very little and I’m always the first one up! I still get very nervous around loud sounds and unexpected movements, but I’m growing more comfortable every day. I was the first one to discover how fun it is to drink out of the bathroom sink and bathtub. I’d be a perfect match with my brother Peter Pan since I’m really bonded with him…we can be found cuddling together all day long, just as long as we’re right next to you. I’m the meower of the family and I make cute little high-pitched squeaks when I want dinner or your attention. I’m very affectionate, start purring right away when you pet me and I just love to be brushed. I will try to get on your lap during the day and will sleep right next to you in the bed every night. In fact, Peter and I won’t get out of bed until you do-no matter how late you sleep! I like to bounce and hop like a bunny and love chasing a laser pointer, all kinds of string or ribbons, and my own tail. He loves to sit on your lap and be petted, purring REALLY REALLY LOUD. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever met. Ray was doing great until his owner found out that he is diabetic so needs insulin shots. The needles are super small and Ray is the best patient ever. But his owner didn’t want to give shots, so told the vet to euthanize sweet Ray instead :(. Can you imagine your family wanting to have you killed just because you became diabetic? Neither could we - so we took Ray in to foster care. Ray gets along wonderfully with other cats and kittens, and just wants a place he can live out the rest of his years with love and care. He is vaccinated, deflead, dewormed, neutered, FeLV negative, microchipped, and missing most of his teeth. His insulin runs about $25 a month. For more information or to meet Too Much Sugar Ray, please contact his foster mom. Ray has tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here to read an excellent article about FIV. DOB: 3/29/07 Tyson was one of three boys abandoned at a pet store in the summer of 2007. At the time, they were a few months old and fairly feral. Tyson is the only one to have tamed down enough where he actually enjoys human interaction. He can be a touch shy at first before he learns to trust new people, but once he does he's all purrs and head butts. Brushing him makes him the happiest cat on earth. He is extremely cat friendly and has grown up in a house with dogs - he doesn't really interact with them but doesn't fear them either. As he's aged, he's become much more chatty. I suppose it could be senility? He'll just out of nowhere start talking to himself, usually late in the evening or in the morning when it's relatively quiet. If you are interested in learning more about Tyson or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster dad.If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB: 8/22/18 Valentino AKA 'Tino' sure lives up to his name, he is charming and will definitely steal your heart!  Look at that partial 'Clark Gable' moustache!  Tino is an extremely affectionate boy with beautiful markings and quite the whiskers.  He will approach you immediately, purr loudly, asking for a back scratch.  He is an extremely energetic boy that loves to play with other kittens and cats, and he especially loves chasing ping pong balls.  He is a very social boy and would make a great addition to a loving family that would be willing to accept him with one of his bonded siblings or to a family with another energetic, sweet cat.  Won't you give him that chance? DOB: 6/25/18 Vinny is his Momma (Mona’s) mini-me – not only in looks, but also in that he pays her a lot of attention. So if you want a nice bookend pair of kitties, you can take them both home. Every once in a while Vinny is a little bit shy, but that passes quickly when it happens and he is quickly out playing like crazy with the toys and his siblings or melting into you when you pet or comb him.  Vinny has serious game and is definitely the highest jumper and fastest chaser in the family. When he goes to lie down, he usually heads to Mona or one of his siblings to nap with them. He is very inquisitive, extremely sweet, and smart. He loves to seek out the sunbeams for lounging. Vinny gets along great with his siblings, and loves to nap with them or near his Momma.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 9/20/17 Whisper is a very sweet, little purr machine kitten.  She should be quite beautiful as an adult with her luscious black medium-haired coat.  Trapped in the back yard of someone who was feeding the feral mom and babies, Whisper is slightly timid at first when meeting humans.  However, she has a calm temperament and absolutely loves adult kitties!  Whisper enjoys playing with a variety of toys and bouncing about in torn up newspapers or tissue paper.  Whisper would love to be in a home with another kitty, preferably one she can play with.  Because Whisper is a bit timid with humans, she should be in a home with an experienced cat guardian who understands timid kitties.  Please know that this kitten is located in Northridge, California—aka Southern California. DOB: 6/30/17 I am the sweetest tabby you could hope to meet. I love to play and snuggle with other kitties. I have pretty golden eyes and long slender legs. My favorite toy is a fluffy pipe-cleaner – I chase it all over the place and do amazing acrobatics with it! I like sitting right on top of the door and at the top of the cat tower where I can watch the world go by. I love getting wet food twice a day but my favorite time is treat time after dinner. I know when it’s getting to that part of the day and sit and watch foster-mom and meow at her to remind her just in case she forgets. It seems to work every time! I lie by foster mom on the sofa when she watches television and snuggle with her in bed in the mornings. I am still a bit skittish but I have come a long way in learning to trust humans. DOB: 10/15/06 Sweet, soulful Zoey thought she had her forever home. Unfortunately, after 8 years, her family returned her saying they were moving in with family members who are allergic to cats. So Zoey is now looking for a new, loving family. This poor girl is perplexed by this turn of events. She is a quiet type of kitty - no trouble at all. She loves petting and will even reach out to you if you stop. She is a dignified girl, no running around the house getting underfoot. All the kitten craziness is behind her. Her sweet green/gold soulful eyes tell her story. This sad turn of events had left her a little shy but after a few months in a wonderful temporary foster home her sweet personality is showing. She has relaxed and is ready to accept love again.  We believe Zoey might have hearing issues which would explain her wariness in new situations. While it will take her a few months to feel comfortable in a new home, she will be a sweet low maintenance type of kitty with a long life ahead of her. Zoey is not needy and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, easy going friend who asks for very little. All she needs is love. She has lived with other cats and young children. She would do best as an only kitty or with another mellow cat.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent.
