My name is Alice, I am a two year old (as of 1/21/16) brown tabby.  I would like to share my story with you. My colony feeder noticed one night I was injured so he called the SAFCC helpline. Your volunteer trapper DJ took the challenge in the middle of the night to rescue me. Then I was rushed to an ER vet. I was diagnosed with a prolapsed rectum! They reinserted the organ, stitched me up and off I went. Recover for seven days and I would be back on the streets. Well, that was not the case at all! After several attempts and doctor visits to keep my organ in I was referred to a specialist. My foster mom took me to Affordable Pet Care on Grissom Rd. I meet with Dr. Earl who was kind enough to want to help me.  After all, I was a two month old kitten with no income. I spent many days with him and his lovely staff. They took exceptional care of me.  I became a regular patient, first name basis and even had my own kennel. I even had to eat special food. I am now completely recovered and have blossomed into a sweet, playful and loving girl. I will not have to go back on the streets because I am friendly. I am now going to adoption events in search of my furr ever home.   SAFCC cats are spayed/neutered, current on rabies and vaccinations, dewormed, micro-chipped, and tested for feline aids and leukemia. Please contact Courtesy Post for more information about this pet.     cAustin is a great little guy.  He is loving and playful.  He loves to running and playing his brothers and the other kitties at his foster hom, balls and feathers, and ear rubs.  He loves to be with his humans and purrs the minute he is picked up for a hug.  He and his almost identical brother, Dallas, would love to be adopted together, but Austin knows that for some reason (that we simply cannot understand) people are less likely to adopt black cats, so if he and Dallas cannot be adopted together, he knows they will both be happy in their individual forever homes.  Austin is ready to make some lucky person very happy. Austin is a 6 month old neutered male.  He has had his vaccinations and microchip.  His mother was combo tested (negative) so he did not need to be combo tested since he was rescued at an early age. Hello, my name is Jerry (white and gray tabby) and this is my brother Ben (solid gray tabby).  We were born in September of 2014 and had a rough start to our lives.  As kittens a n infection attacked our eyes and blinded us. We can see some shadows and movement and once we know the layout of the house we are pretty good navigators and only occasionally bump into things.  We're the perfect pair as I'm goofy and fun while Ben is quiet and relaxed. Our bond is so strong that when we get separated in the house we call out for each other. We love hanging out together. I love affection from humans more than Ben does and I especially love suckling on my blanket. Our foster family includes kids, dogs, and cats and we love having these friends to play with. We are looking for a loving family to adopt us as a pair. SAFCC cats are spayed/neutered, current on rabies and vaccinations, dewormed, micro-chipped, and tested for feline aids and leukemia. I was trapped and 'fixed' in May 2008 and decided it was much better to be an indoor cat than an outdoor cat. Now the food comes to me and I don't have to go hunt for it! I am current on my vaccinations and know how to use a litterbox. My foster dad thinks I was about one year old when rescued in May of 2008. I have slowed down a bit in my senior years but still have my Calico Cattitude! Won't you please give me a forever home? I will purr a lot and love you 'til the end of time. Please contact Donna (chez_les_chats@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.     sweet boy kitten needs lotsa loveMy mom was abandoned when she became “in a family way” while she was still a kitten. As her  time approached she frantically looked for a safe place to have her babies. She found the doors open to a house whose owner had recently passed away. The lady's family was in the midst of emptying out the house and readying it for sale. Mama hid herself in a cluttered closet and when things got quiet delivered me and my 3 siblings. Unfortunately, the people locked up the house when they were at a stopping point and didn’t come back for several days. When they came back they found mama hungry and thirsty but she had kept all us kittens well-fed. The people contacted a volunteer with a cat rescue group who took mama and my family to foster at her home. I am very loveable, playful, litter-box trained, and have no bad habits. I have been neutered, dewormed, tested negative for feline AIDS & leukemia, and have all my shots. Please let me be your forever kitty! Love, Chai   If you would like to adopt me please contact my foster mom Donna at chez_les_chats@yahoo.com or go online to www.sanantonioferalcats.org/adoptions and complete the adoption application.     Miss Elizabeth is a beautiful young lady with a quiet demeanor who would be a wonderful companion. She's good with other cats as long as they are not aggressive toward her. She hasn't been around dogs or kids, but she does best in a calm, quiet environment. She is shy of people. This is just her personality. She's an introvert cat. But once she feels safe, she's extremely sweet and playful and will talk to you. She doesn't like to be picked up, but her foster had been getting her used to it before kitten season hit, so there's a good chance she will come around to it with patience. She's also very well-behaved. A perfect little lady with gorgeous seagreen eyes. Her adoption fee is $100.00. This covers the cost of spaying, rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, microchipping, combo testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia (she is negative for both), deworming and flea prevention. If you are interested in this sweet girl, please fill out the adoption application below and email it to foster mom Melissa at ellysialain@gmail.com. You can also call or text her at 860-639-3658.     My name is Ezra. I am a three month old short-hair ebony female. I may be little, but I am fierce! I am a little bit crazy sometimes, but I'm very loving! I just have a LOT of energy! I was found right after I was born in the backyard of a very nice young lady. I was a very tiny baby and never grew as quickly as I should have, but I'm a very smart and brave girl! At 8 weeks old, I got sick with panleukopenia, but I survived thanks to my foster mom's round-the-clock care! She says I'm a real fighter! Now that I'm all better, I'm hoping I'll find my forever home! Note: Due to her extremely high level of energy, it is strongly recommended that Ezra be adopted together with another rambunctious kitten to play with! She would likely prefer a home where she can get lots of attention and playtime!     Gaia is a 4-5 year old tuxedo female. She wants to trust and be loved by people, but is easily frightened because of years of abuse suffered at the hands of cruel humans who worked in the area she was living as a stray for most, if not all of her life. Finally, after giving birth to her last of an unknown number of litters, she was picked up by a kind woman who helped her get into foster care with her babies. Despite her past, she is a very sweet and affectionate girl, though signs of the terrible treatment she endured are clear in her timid behavior. Please contact Courtesy Post for more information about this pet.     Houston is a very sweet and playful little guy with a soft, gray tabby coat.  He was born under a trailer located on an unsafe, busy street.  He loves to running and playing with his brothers and the other cats in his foster home, balls, feather toys, helping his foster mom work puzzles and eating pepperoni pizza when no one is watching.  While he does not play with the dogs, he seems to tolerate them and mainly just ignores them.  He is quick to purr when picked up and loves to be around his humans.  He will be a loving addition to some lucky family/person. Houston is about 6 months old and has had his vaccinations, and has been neutered and microchipped.  Since he was rescued with his mother at a young age, his mother was combo tested (negative) which covers the kittens. Please contact Courtesy Post for more information about this pet.     My name is JoJo. I am a two year white male with hints of orange. My owner was moving out of state and could not take me so he was going to just leave me outside since no one offered me a home. A nice lady took me in and has cared for me. I am a very sweet and friendly boy. I like to play and loaf around. I like other cats and kittens, people too.  I have a weak positive FIV.  Cat Chat is keen to promote the adoption of healthy FIV positive cats. It is very encouraging that an increasing number of veterinarians in the UK are realizing that healthy FIV positive cats can enjoy a good quality of life, and that euthanasia is both inappropriate and inhumane. Any tom cat found to be FIV positive should be neutered, and fighters managed in such a way that they do not have the necessity or opportunity to fight. Neutering them may be all that is required. It is surprising how many aggressive stray tom cats turn into docile pets when they have been castrated and no longer have to fight for every mouthful of food! Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) has been associated with cats for many years, although it was only labelled as such as recently as 1986. The virus depletes the number of white blood cells, which eventually makes the cat less able to fight off infection. However, because it is such a slow acting virus many FIV positive cats can enjoy a normal lifespan with no apparent health problems resulting from the virus. FIV is species specific. It can only be transmitted from cat to cat, however when the cats are fixed this discourages fighting and procreation. I love to snuggle and will curl up with you on the bed, if you let me. I enjoy chasing the red dot from the laser toy, window sitting, getting ear scratches and tummy rubs. I'm good with a small dog and older kids. Little kids and big dogs scare me. I will tolerate other cats, but would also be fine all by myself.   If you are interested in me call/text Lorraine at 210-471-8462. Please contact Lorraine (crazykattlady67@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.     My name is Maddie. I am a eight month old female tuxedo. DOB  7/14/2017. My siblings and I were found in a ditch during a rainstorm in Mc Allen, Texas. My foster mom took us home and cared for us till we were old enough to take us to a shelter so we could be adopted. I was the only one they would not take in because I had a cloudy eye. She took me to the vet and nursed me back to health. My eye right eye is cloudy due to an upper respiratory infection. No shelter wanted to take me in because of my eye. My mom called the SAFCC and they told her if she drove me to San Antonio they would find me a foster mom and help adopt me so off I went on a five hour drive north to find my furrever home.  My new foster mom took me to Dr. Bonney a Veterinary Ophthalmologist in San Antonio. Other than a right eye which has no vision and needs a wipe in the morning my left eye has vision. I can see and have no problems getting around.   I am the sweetest angel, turn on my purr motor as soon as you pick me up or start to love on me. I need time to adjust to other cats and kittens but maybe more comfortable as a one only cat. This is because I can smell them but feel threatened by them but once I get used to them I am fine. I love to play with my toys, started to climb the stairs and love to explore.  If you would like to meet me call/text Lorraine at 210-471-8462. Please contact Chris (chrisncats@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.     My name is Mercury. I was rescued from a feral cat colony because I am friendly and I was being attacked by other cats. At the time of my rescue in May 2010, the vet estimated my age to be about 11 months old. I was neutered and vaccinated but my combo-test came out positive for FIV. I am very sweet but would probably be best in a home as the only cat or with other FIV + cats. All I want is to live in a loving home where I will get lots of attention and not be attacked anymore by other cats! Please give me a second chance to live a long happy life and I will love you forever! If you are interested in adopting Mercury, please contact Chris at 210-232-2790. I have tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and my caretaker estimates my birthday is around the first of May of 2018. Please contact Donna (chez_les_chats@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.     sweet teenage mamaI was abandoned when I became “in a family way” while I was still a kitten. As my time approached I frantically looked for a safe place to have my babies. I found the doors open to a house whose owner had recently passed away. Her family was in the midst of emptying out the house and readying it for sale. I hid myself in a cluttered closet and when things got quiet I delivered 4 beautiful kittens of every color in the rainbow. Unfortunately, the people locked up the house when they were at a stopping point and didn’t come back for several days. When they came back they found me hungry and thirsty but the kittens all well-fed thanks to my continuing to care for them. They contacted a volunteer with a cat rescue group who took me and my new family to live in her bathroom. My kittens are all big enough they too are looking for their forever homes. I am very loveable and like to follow my person around the house like a dog. I'm litter-box trained, and have no bad habits. I have been spayed, dewormed, tested negative for feline AIDS & leukemia, and have all my shots. Please let me be your forever kitty! Please contact Courtesy Post for more information about this pet.     The day Tigger was rescued he was run over by a car.  At first he could not stand up or move his hind quarters.  Luckily, nothing was broken (and he never lost bowel or bladder control) but his spinal cord had undergone a sever shock.  Over the next few weeks, Tigger regained the use of his back legs and grew stronger and stronger.  Today, it is hard to tell he ever had a problem.  He runs and plays with his brothers and the other kitties at his foster home.  He loves to play in boxes and chase balls.  Whoever adopts him will be getting a very sweet and loving kitty. Tigger is a male about 6 months old.  He is good with other cats and tolerates the dogs.  He has been healthy since his recovery and does not seem to have any residual problems.   Since Tigger was small and rescued with his mother, he has not been combo tested but his mother was combo tested (negative).  He has had his vaccinations and has been neutered and microchipped. Anyone interested in Tigger can call or text me at  (210)422-2194  or email me at  ljtm429@gmail.com . courtesy Listing. She takes a bit longer to get used to new cats, but does eventually get along with them. She would likely prefer a home without very young children or energetic dogs. She and her sister, Ravenna, were found by a young couple at their apartment complex. Once transferred to a loving foster home, they thrived and are now ready for a forever home! These twin sisters would love to be be adopted together! Adoption Fee: $100 This covers spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, testing for FIV and feline leukemia, deworming, and Revolution for prevention of fleas, ticks, ear mites, heartworms and intestinal parasites. Please contact Courtesy Post for more information about this pet.     My name is Wylie. I am a six month old medium hair male with a grey and white coat. I have a very special story. I was found at an apartment complex parking lot with a serve injury at 4 weeks old. During his neuter surgery the vet noticed an  injury so with x rays he had a dislocated femur. We hoped the femur would correct with time but that was not the case so he had to have surgery. The vet preformed Femur Head Ostectomy (FHO) which is surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur. This alleviated the pain.  Wylie is not pain free and a happy teenager. His foster mom has done an awesome job caring for him all this time. He is now ready for a loving home that will give him all the love and care he needs.  If you are interested in me call/text Lorraine at 210-471-8462.  email: crazykattlady67@gmail.com  My adoption fee is 100.00 which includes neuter, rabies shot, fvrcp shot, feline leukemia and Fiv test, and microchip. To download and print an adoption application click on the Adoption tab on www.sanantonioferalcats.org.   He is a very laid back and easy going guy. He gets along with cats, dogs and children.     All fosters under San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition: Community Cat Adoption Program are fostered privately through foster homes and fully vetted with FVRCP/Rabies Vaccinations, Spay/Neuter, Microchipping and Combo Tested for Heartworms/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus/Feline Leukemia.
