About BRUCE- Austin

Hi, I’m Bruce. A handsome 4 year old Blue Weim. I know your prob thinking how did this hunk end up in rescue? Honestly I’m not really sure but I’m glad I did. After finding myself in one of the highest kill shelters in Tx, I’ll admit I was a bit nervous. I put on a good front but boy was I relieved to get saved. I am a very happy and loving guy who loves to run and run some more.   I have learned a few things with my foster family. I can now use stairs, sit, laydown and take training treats very gently. I love, love, love my crate/kennel and feel safe and cozy in it. I’m still working on walking on a leash, go out the doggie door (though I can come in just fine),playing with toys and mouthing (not hard). I prefer to eat alone in a different room our outside until I’m more comfortable. I really would like a doggie friend to play with, did I mention I love to run? I’m not too sure how I would do with cats though, I have never met one. I live with two kids right now.   My foster moms says that bc of my high energy and lack of manners I prob need to be with dog savy kids. I am all healthy and neutered really all I am missing in my life is you. I’m looking for my forever home and would love to meet you and your family.   I am being fostered in the Austin are.   Please ask about BRUCE when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Hi my name is Cielo, named for my eyes being the color of the sky. I’m about 16 month old and a beautiful silver girl. I weigh in at 65 pounds of puppy love. I am your typical velcro weim, I always want to be by my Foster Mom or Dad, if they are in different rooms, I try my best to be able to see them both. I haven’t counter surfed, but my foster parents are very vigilant on putting food away. I have lots of energy and go on walks and runs with my furry siblings almost daily, need lots of exercise to burn off my puppy energy. I love to run and play with my foster siblings in the yard, I'd love to have a fur sibling to play with. I am working on walking on the leash, I am not very good at going straight, but don’t pull. I am also scared of cars and strangers so I bark at them, but am learning to trust more. I am great with dogs big and small, cats, and kids. Oh my tail is all natural so when I get excited you might get whacked with it. I jump when I get super duper excited, but am easily corrected and getting better. I am also mouthy if I really love you, but very gentle and working on not doing it. I love chew toys and have a special pb kong I get when it is time to get in my crate. Do not leave fluffy toys in my crate as they seem to explode stuffing everywhere. I am crate trained but am sometimes vocal if I know you are leaving me. I am completely potty trained and let me parents know when I need to go out. I also know how to use a doggy door. I love ear scratches and belly rubs of course. When you meet me I may be shy and it takes some time to warm up to you, I didn’t let me foster mom touch me the first day she brought me home and barked at my foster dad for an hour when I met him. My foster parents are socializing me, but I am still super shy meeting new people and hide behind my parents legs. Once I know I can trust you I am the sweetest and most loving weim girl you have ever met. Just have to be patient with me and let me come to you when I am ready. I do bark at animals and people that are outside and get very concerned when someone comes to the door. I have always been an inside dog and allowed on furniture so if you don’t want a dog on the couch that would be a big challenge for me. I also need to sleep in the same room as you. I prefer in the bed, but as long as I can see you I may cry for a bit before I settle down, but will eventually go to sleep. I love my foster family, but really want to find a family of my own to love. I am being fostered in the Houston area. Please ask about CIELO when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Meet Copper, a nine year old boy who loves to be pet, play and sleep. He get along really well with other dogs and loves playing my my human foster brothers (5 and 8).  He really like to sleep under covers and is a normal Velcro Weim. He is sweet as pie and loves being with his foster family. When they are gone he get to wonder the house. He is really good and has not chewed on anything or pottied in the house at all. His foster mom says the only thing he really need to work on is walking on a leash. He gets a little too excited and pulls too much but is trying. He prefers to be with another dog so he is not lonely too. He hopes to meet his forever home soon as he will be an amazing addition to your family! Hi everyone, I’m Eli, a handsome 9 year old male with plenty of energy left. I came into rescue for a second time recently bc unfortunately my wonderful owner passed away. She loved me so much and made sure I would be taken care of. I am a very gentle boy with all people, but not so much with other dogs, though I am getting better. I’d just really prefer to be the only dog in my new home. My current foster family says I am a total angel. I do not counter surf or dumpster dive at all. Food, did someone say food? Well I am very food motivated and I know how to sit, stay and “get it”. Crates are not my thing , I do not like to be crated nor locked in a room by myself. I will gets very distressed and will cry and bite at the crate wires. I do love car rides and I am an excellent passenger if I do say do myself. I’m not really big into chasing the squirrels or rabbits when I sees them. I do however love and I mean LOVE to chasee the tennis ball. I LOVE to play fetch, and will bring the ball back to you and drop it at your feet. I will play fetch until you can no longer play. I promise I can outplay you. I am totally healthy and I am looking for a home where I am the only dog and my humans will play fetch with me!  Please ask about ELI when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Meet Harvey, a sweet boy who is 9 years old, but it still young at heart and oh so handsome! He currently lives with his four-legged foster sister who he loves. He loves everyone he meets, adults and kids, alike.   His favorite thing in the world is looking out the window and scoping out squirrels. He can do that for hours, and sometimes, when the squirrel sightings are slow, he will leave his bone close by so that he has something to do while waiting for them to appear again. Harvey is ready for his forever home.  His foster mom says he is a really sweet, smart boy, and of course he would agree with her. He uses a doggy door, will sit for treats, and much more.  There’s just one little area where he has no control when no one is at home…he tends to counter-surf when there’s something left out, but since his foster mom started using something called a Scat Mat, he has gotten much better. He would love to find his forever home and to have fur siblings in his house and someone who will take him on walks and keep him active. Hi, I’m Jupiter a 7 yr old lad who is ready to find my forever family. Lets all just take a min a check out my ears.......yeah they are pretty amazing. I’ve been in rescue for a few months now bc when I came in I had those pesky heart worms. I just got the official ok though that I am good to go, yay!!   My foster dad is always saying that I am a very good dog. I love kids, and I get along with other dogs. Cats on the other hand we are not sure about as I do enjoys hunting squirrels. Two of my favorite things are going on leash walks and sleeping on the couch, so pretty much the best of both worlds. Like any good boy I am house trained, I will sit at the door or bark to go out. Currently I do not stay in a crate at my foster home, but I might if it was big enough. I am a very big boy you see, about 120 lbs. The vet told me I really need to lose some weight, don’t we all? Really the only things on my wish list is loving family and big yard to run around in.   I am being fostered in the DFW area   Please ask about JUPITER when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Hi, Maxx here, I’m a super duper cute boy that would really love a family of my very own. I am about a year old and small at about 50 pounds. I’m not sure if I am a weim mix or if I just have the mark of the hound, my parents never told me.   Here are the reasons why you should adopt me: Crate trained – yes Friendly with other dogs – yes Housetrained – mostly ( I’m really trying I swear) Temperament – easy Likes-likes toys and anything he can grab!!! Energy level/Exercise need – high   The reasons why you shouldn’t....... none! I am awesome!! I am also fully vetted. My ideal home would work with me so that I can become the very best dog I can be. They also will understand that I am young and playful so I really will need exercise and an outlet for my energy.   I am currently in the DFW area, if you are thinking about adding to your family please consider me!   Please ask about MAXX when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Meet Nikki, a sweet 9 yr old girl that just wants to be with her person, wherever that might be. She is house-trained and crate-trained, although she really doesn’t like to be in the crate if someone is at home. She will make sure that you know she is there and waiting to get out. She has been good with other dogs that are not alpha. She rides well in the car and gets excited if she sees the leash. She walks well on a leash and ignores other dogs in the vicinity. She is a good watch dog and will bark if she sees someone outside the house or at the door. Nikki sleeps in her bed in the room with her foster mom and will wake her up when she thinks it is time for breakfast. She is food motivated, but now knows to lay down and stay until told she can eat. She does have a large lipoma on her belly beside her left hind leg, but the vet has said it is not medically necessary to remove and doesn’t hinder her ability to run and play. Nikki deserves a good home for the rest of her years and will be an excellent companion. Please ask about NIKKI when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Morning Weim Lovers! Rose is my name and I am a 10 year old gray 55 pound female that was found stray. That was not a fun time in my life. I fortunately was heartworm negative, but I did have lots of lumps that needed to be looked at and no one had ever taken the time to get me spayed. When I came into rescue I had a hard time moving around because my back legs were so weak and I panted with the stress of new situations.   Well that was then and today I am happy to report that I am doing very well. With the loving care and patience of my amazing foster mom, I am living with 2 Weim foster brothers who are twice my size; I walk 1 mile a day and I have gained some weight and seen a difference in my fur. I did have surgery to remove 3 lumps and recovered well from those. Also I go to doggy daycare when my foster mom is out of town and I chill out with the little dogs. Like a proper lady I am housetrained. I would benefit from someone that is home a lot during the day as I will bark when you leave me. I can’t help it I just want to spend all my time with you!! I am looking for a forever home that will not require me to do stairs. I am taking a medication to help with the pain of my arthritis and it has done well in keeping me walking every day.   I am being fostered in Dallas. Can’t wait to meet you!   Please ask about ROSE when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. For donations, please make your check payable to Weimaraner Rescue of Texas, Inc. 4347 W.   Hello my name is Rowdy. I was living on the streets when someone picked me up to take me to the doctor. I looked pretty bad when I first came to rescue. Turns out I have a brown and black brendle coat. I may not be all weimie but I am all cuteness.    I was HW+ but have gone through treatment for those. I also have what my doctor says is advanced hip dysplasia. However it doesn’t keep me from cruising around the house. My foster mom gives me chewing supplements everyday. I feel great.    I’m a very chill boy. I like to drag my blanket and pillow atriums with me. I even carry it outside. I live with two foster brothers. I do like my space though. Best with older more calm dogs that don’t jump on me.    I don’t need to go in a kennel when you leave the house. I just lay down and wait for you to come home. I don’t like to go upstairs though. I’m good with a few steps but not a second floor area     Please ask about ROWDY when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Good morning, my name is Xander and I’m a young dog- about two years old. I know I am very handsome with my “mark of the hound” and I only weighs about 50 pounds. Since I am young I have a youthful spirit and that means I am high energy, cheerful, playful, and enjoy lots of cuddling! I know basic commands like sit, wait, and I’m proud to say I am house broken. My foster family has not had to use a crate with me as I like to wait for them in a room while they step out. I do get along with all people, but because I am so playful it is better if children are not to young. Oh and no cats, I will chase them. Hehe it’s so much fun, for me, not the cat. In the past I was bullied a bit as a puppy by other dogs so I do need some time to warm up when meeting new doggie friends. However, I am currently living with a female Weimaraner and a male weim mix. I just need a pack who is well socialized to help me learn that I don’t have to feel insecure, afraid or guarded. My ideal forever home would be able to continue my positive training and be patient and gentle with my puppy ways. I am very cute, have buttery soft fur, and am just waiting to be your best friend. I am neutered and fully healthy too! All that is missing in my life is you! I am being fostered in the Houston area. Please ask about XANDER when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Hi! My name is Zeplin and I wanted to introduce myself. First off I am very handsome and I have incredible ears. So I was surrendered to a shelter and though I am listed as 10 years old I scoff at that, age is just a number right? My foster mom can’t believe I am 10 bc I am just full of energy and I act much younger, no physical signs of a senior here! Lately I am taking a 1-2 mile walk every day with my foster brother. I do pull some on the leash but I also respond well to verbal corrections and instructions. Since I am still a strong boy, you only need to watch out when the squirrels or cats run out bc obviously they are trying to play with me and they want me to chase them.....right? I am housebroken and uses the doggie door, I have never had an accident or marked in the house.   I do not need to be crated while gone bc I am such a good boy. Don’t worry if someone comes to the door I will let you know, but otherwise I am not a big barker. I do love when visitors come over and will greet them with enthusiasm, then I will run to grab my blanket. I love to nuzzle a blanket – it seems to be a calming mechanism for me. My foster mom says it’s quite cute and no blankets are harmed, only a little slobbery! LOL! Want to snuggle? OK! I am definitely a boy that likes to snuggle! If you are on the couch I just want to be near and touching you. I don’t mean to brag, but I am velvety soft and I love to hug. I will sleep on the dog bed or sofa or whatever the new house rules are. Just know that I always want to be near you!! I am very good around other dogs and am non-reactive when out on walks. My foster mom would recommend no cats since I definitely will try and hunt them down if I catch the scent, hmph she’s no fun. Since I am still strong and will bump into you, just know if there are young kids around I may run into them. I wouldn’t mean it though, I am not aggressive in any way, I love people. I would do fine as an only dog, soaking up all the attention, but I do enjoy having a sibling.   I am happy to report I takes treats well and have a soft mouth. I do love my food/treats. I admitted I was a little on the fluffy side when I came in so my food will need to be regulated. Hmmmm why is my foster mom telling all my secrets! Oh and I also have a clean bill of health!! There is so much to love about me so please consider giving me a forever home!!   I am being fostered in the Dallas area. Please ask about ZEPLIN when you contact Weimaraner Rescue of Texas.
