ear Adopter, Hi, my name is Brooklyn. I am a stunning 3-year-old young lady. I love to play ball, and will fetch for you as long as you are willing to throw the ball. I am fantastic with other dogs and cats. I would love to have a big family with kids who would be willing to play and cuddle. A canine sibling would be awesome, too. I am still new to this home thing, so I am trying hard to learn all the rules. I am housebroken and crate trained, so no worries there. In fact, I LOVE my crate and will just go lay in it on my own. I have no problem sleeping in it at night either. I do, however, prefer to eat alone. I do not mind you being near me, but if there is a lot going on around me, it is hard for me to remember that I am supposed to be eating and not playing. I agree, she would do great with a big family. We have two kids, age 6 and 12, who are both very active and loud. She does not mind, and seems to enjoy the crazy, chaotic house we have. We also have another large breed dog, a cat, and a water dragon here - all of which she does not seem to mind. She does not chase the cat, but will follow us or our other dog around EVERYWHERE we go. She is a love bug, and gives tons of kisses and expects them in return, too. We are working on her walking skills and she is getting better with each walk. She is also trying hard to learn basic commands such as sit and stay. Brooklyn kennels very well, and does not whine or have any issues while staying in her kennel through the night. She is a very sweet dog and would love a home of her own, so if you feel you could be the family for her, please get with me and come meet her. show less

Dalton was adopted from us in 2013, but due to a change in his family situation, he was very sadly returned to us by his heartbroken owner. He is a very large dog, but he is the most laid back and easy going guy ever. He loves to play outside, and thinks rain puddles are lots of fun. He also likes to entertain himself in the yard by tossing a toy up in the air. Dalton's favorite thing of all is to be with his foster family, enjoying their company and doing whatever they are doing. He likes to go for an easy half-mile walk, but also enjoys a good nap. Dalton has a strong prey drive, and will chase any critter that invades his yard. Because he is so big, he can easily bump you over without knowing it, so small children would need to be stable on their feet. It's not that he intentionally knocks a child down, but when he is looking for a head rub or an ear scratch, he will come and rub against you and could easily knock a little one over. He is never rough with his foster family, and is just as gentle as can be. He knows most obedience commands, and is happy to cooperate. He does love a reward and enjoys treats. Dalton loves his foster family dearly, and would be a great companion for anyone wanting an older, super easy going guy. Just to clarify, his foster family doesn't want adopters to think that "easy going" means slow or disengaged. They feel that Dalton is a strong deterrent and a great protector. He just doesn't get worked up until there is something to get worked up about. He is a big, strong boy, with a wonderful heart. Monte is a big boy with an even bigger personality. He adores people, and loves to cuddle on the couch with his foster family. Monte’s regal appearance commands attention when he enters a room, and his ability to “talk” with you and his lovely “singing” voice make him the most entertaining companion. Monte is house trained and crate trained. He knows basic commands and is eager to please his people. Monte demonstrates his loyalty to his humans by “guarding” the front door. This is fine if there is a menacing stranger, but his foster family is training him to go to his crate when the doorbell rings, so he doesn’t scare away their friends and neighbors! The training is going well, and Monte is learning to relax. Monte is looking for a home where there is a laid back atmosphere, and a nightly stroll as opposed to a nightly jog. He is a big handsome goofball with lots of love to shower on the right humans. Is that you? Due to injuries he sustained that were sadly left untreated, Monte has an old fracture, and the way it has healed has left him with some pain. He is also showing signs of hip dysplasia in his opposite leg. Pain medication alone will not be enough. Monte has been undergoing water treatments to strengthen his rear legs and give him better mobility in the rear quadrant. His front legs have compensated for his rear legs, and he is still a strong, vibrant dog at heart. Unfortunately, Monte is not a candidate for surgery, so his discomfort has been successfully managed with adequan shots weekly, platinum performance (a supplement) and fish oil twice a day. show less

Hello out there! I've been waiting for you to find me, but I'm getting kind of frustrated. My name is Octavia, and I'm a beautiful female German Shepherd dog. I've been told I have gorgeous, soulful eyes, and I assure you that my "eyeliner" is always impeccably done (well, it is permanent since I was born). I love people and would really like to adopt one of my own. My foster mom is okay, but she already has 3 GSD boys - she must be crazy. Actually, I enjoy playing with those boys most of the time, and it's nice to have them to snuggle and nap with after games of chase. Having a sibling is fine with me. When I first came to my foster's home, I was really nervous. Imagine being in a new place where you don't know anyone. It's scary. I've relaxed so much now that I know that I'm welcome and well cared for. I still have a crate to rest in during the day, but at night I sleep in the bedroom with the boys and my foster mom. She says she feels very safe with us around, and I know that I'm an important part of keeping her safe. A lady shouldn't brag, but I do walk nicely on a leash and sit politely while my meals are served. I also have some proper house manners - sitting and coming when told; of course I'm house trained. My name is Reika. My foster mom says I'm the prettiest girl ever! I was 2 years old last September. I have a sad story. My owner died last spring and the family just stuck me in the back yard all by myself. I didn't like being alone, so I kept escaping. Eventually, a nice lady talked the family into letting me have a shot at having a family that wanted me. I was extremely under weight and matted up. My foster family took me in right before Christmas, and I have won them over. I still need to gain 10 or 15 lbs and am a flight risk. I will need some patience and training to undo my past experiences. I am a long coated German Shepherd and simply stunning. I am very active and really enjoy wrestling with my 80 lb foster brother. I am pretty good on a leash, enjoy my toys and ride well in the car. I stay in a crate when my family is not home and sleep in a crate at night. I can't wait to find my perfect family! show less

Hey there - I'm Ross! My mom says I have the face of a teddy bear - so she calls me Bear. Whatever .... she and the boy human are pretty cool so I don't care what they call me. I just love to be near them. They pet me, and let me cuddle with them, and sit in their laps. Well....like they could move me... I spent my first three years outside in the yard. Being allowed in the house is AMAZING! There are ALL kinds of things in here to play with. There are things that squeak, and bounce, and wiggle. I LOVE these wonderful things they call toys. I have three canine foster brothers who have taught me to play chase, keep away, and tug of war with all these toys. Being inside is so nice because I am always warm and dry. I still kinda like the puddles in the yard, though. Sorry Mom, those are my footprints on the floor, too. I am still learning the routines of "structured living" as Mom calls it. She feeds me twice a day on a VERY regular schedule, and I'm so happy that she always does. I am learning to sit on command for a treat. Who knew that was all it takes to make a human happy? House manners are something brand new for me. Apparently it is NOT good manners to put your feet on the counter to help mom make peanut butter sandwiches. Even after that, Mom let me stay inside, and continued to pet me and love me. People can be amazing. I am so happy to be in a real home that I smile all the time. I can't wait to find my very own furever home - and soon. I'm still learning how things go, but Mom says I am super smart, (and goofy!) like most of the other young male dogs - and some family will be really lucky to get me! I hope she is right! I can't wait to meet my future family..... show less

Spartacus is such a darling old soul, who loves to be near his foster parents doing anything they want to do – lay around and watch TV, play with his other dog roomies, or eat and be loved upon. His favorite thing in the whole wide world is being scratched on his rump and behind his ears and oh – he’ll melt into your arms with a good belly rub. This boy is always curious and will take a search of the parameter as soon as he enters a new room to make sure his owners are safe from any bad guys. He will sniff your face but never ever lick. He’s the perfect gentleman who knows his house manners. He is kennel trained, but his foster parents are able to give him free roam of the home while they’re gone during the day and while sleeping at night. He’s past that whole chewing stage and he’s a more mature chap. When it comes time to go potty, he waits so patiently by the door wagging his tail. All he needs is a comfy bed, and a good back scratch for him to be your loyal companion forever! show less

Twinkle is a happy, fun loving puppy! She has typical puppy energy, and will be happiest with a family that will take her on walks or runs everyday. She loves toys, and loves to play. She is very treat motivated, so she responds well to training with small treats for rewards. She is already crate trained and house trained. She is still slightly scared about new things, which is typical of young puppies. She needs experience with new situations and new people, which will help grow her confidence. Twinkle is good on a leash, but will need more training and practice to walk beside her person without wanting to run ahead to explore other dogs and people. Even though she has plenty of puppy energy, she also loves cuddling up for a nap. She does not need to be crated at night, and will sleep quietly through the night without disturbing anyone. Twinkle is a sweet and loving girl who is ready for a home of her own. show less
