I'm a portly gentle cat looking for a kind human who loves to scratch my head and nap as much as I do. I was once with a family, who sadly had to move away recently, so I'm a seasoned house cat who generally plays by all of the rules. I can be shy at first, but once I feel safe with you I'm a very sweet boy who loves to play and be pampered.  Alani is a tiny lil' mama who came to PAWS with kittens and is now living happily with her foster friend! Found stray, Alani is thought to be 4-6 years old and was know as “bathroom cat,” the guardian the porcelain throne at PAWS. Alani had a scary past, so she takes a little time to build trust, but when she realizes she’s safe, she will happily follow you around the house and keep you company wherever you are. She is very calm but curious to explore every inch of your home. Point a laser in her direction and she’ll play with you for hours! Alani prefers her own space and is not a 'velcro' girl, but will show affection when playing with toys and letting out the sweetest squeaky meows! She will melt the hearts of you and even your guests that she’ll be curious to meet. This loving girl needs a supportive home that will enjoy her company and give her the love she deserves.   Alice is 1 of the 4 “Twilight Kittens” (Rosalie, Bella, Alice, and Jasper). The Twilight Kitties were born in August which makes them just over 3 months old. They were found living out in the cold until they were picked up and brought into PAWS foster program. Alice has the prettiest eyes and an amazing personality to match! She loves to play with her favorite yarn ball and will also let you hold her. She loves cuddling and will most likely give you little kisses.  They call me Apple, but a better name might be Big Apple! I'm a gorgeous gal with an amazing cloud of fluff—black except for a tuft of white in a halo of brown chest. And then there are my beautiful green eyes. Watch me pose like a majestic goddess (or doorstop), aware of my classic good looks—feline style. For now, though, that’s about where my confidence ends. I’m a little tentative in the hubbub of PAWS Northeast. Come visit me and I’ll give you a sniff and let you stroke my cheek, but then I may let you know it’s time to stop. Don’t take it personally. I just need time to warm up. I'm a senior lady who needs someone who will give me time to settle in.   Meet Autumn! She is the sweetest tortie gal with the biggest green eyes. Autumn loves pets and affection more than anything. Rub her back and scratch her chin for an uproarious purr. She is as easy-going as they come and very well behaved.  Autumn makes for very good company-she’s calm, quiet, patient, always open for some love and pets. To put it plainly, she’s chill! She recently said goodbye to her four kittens and is now looking for a furever home of her own. Could Autumn be the magic kitty you've been looking to rescue?!   Autumn would be okay with gentle children who respect her space. She would do best in a home where she is the only animal and she can have her human(s) all to herself. Autumn is spayed, vaccinated & microchipped, fit as a fiddle!   Belle is the only girl in her litter and she took charge. She was the first to do everything, open her eyes, walk , use the litterbox and start to eat food. Belle is an independent kitten but she is also very found of her brothers. She is constantly wrestling and chasing and just having fun with them.  I believe Belle would be fine living in a  home with other animals or being the only kitty as long as she has toys to keep her active.  I am told the best way to describe Belle's coloring is as a diluted calico kitty. I believe she is absolutely gorgeous. There is nothing more relaxing than staring down at Belle while your petting through her beautiful hair and she's purring staring back at you. Belle was found as a stray with her mother and 2 brothers shortly after birth on 7/28. If are you interested in meeting Belle and are an approved adopter I can be reached at  Pemper71@gmail.com .  Bentley is a very social guy. He seems to like every adult he sees, and will happily put his paws up on your leg so you can scratch behind his ears. He can be sensitive with new people, however, so proper introductions are a must! Bentley could live with other dogs his size, but he hasn't told us how he feels about cats yet. He would not be a good candidate for a home with children. Bentley is exhibiting some signs of initial separation anxiety, so his new owners will need patience and a good, consistent transition into the home so he doesn't feel the need to get anxious when someone leaves.  Bernice is a lovely lady who would be equally happy slumbering on the couch with you or running by your side. She's got lots of energy for both up time and down time, and is happiest spending it with you!  This little string bean is Berry! He's a handsome sprig of a pup, with brown patches on his shiny white fur. He's a little unsure of things here at the shelter, but underneath that nervous exterior is a total sweetheart who likes giving kisses and being carried around. Berry is also a great learner who will do anything for a tasty snack! He'll shine in a dog-experienced home with adults or older kids who can help him continue his training and keep a routine to build his confidence. He's still learning proper doggy manners, so while he'd do best as the only dog in the home, he can definitely make dog friends with some continued socialization (we're not sure how he feels about cats yet)!  Meet Blake & Taylor! These two boys were found as strays together and are incredibly bonded to one another. Since they've been living in a foster home, they want nothing other than constant love and cuddles! They purr like crazy every time they can get a good scratch on the chin or belly rub. When their foster mom isn't home, the spend the day napping together in nooks and corners around the house. They are also very playful and love to check out new heights and lookout points all over! Their foster mom says that every day when she does get home, 'they both reach up and give hugs by wrapping their paws around my neck to greet me with nose pushes - I have never met foster kittens who are more affectionate! These amazing kittens have tested positive for FELV, or feline leukemia, and are looking for a special home where they can stay together. FELV does not require medication or daily treatment, but it's important that adopters be vigilant about catching signs of illness early and going to the vet to make sure all is well (adoption staff will be happy to discuss Blake and Taylor's medical needs with you). Only cats can catch FELV, so they are able to live with other species. FELV cats have shorter lifespans than other cats, but these incredibly sweet brothers will bring so much joy to whoever takes them home!  #Blessed is truly a blessing! This little gray tabby has adorable wonky eyes leftover from his bilateral agenesis surgery. He can see perfectly and is a big cuddle bug now that he's recovered! He will do anything to stay right by your side and will be best in a home that can give him the love and attention that he needs. He would love to go to a home with some cat siblings and lots of space to run around and play.    #Blessed is also dog and kid friendly, though a meet-and-greet is advisable to make sure it's a good match.  I'm a sweet, handsome boy who's ready to be your companion! I would like a nice home with an owner who understands cats and will give me the time I need to let my personality shine. Other cats really cheer me up and I'd be happy to live with one. When I was in the shelter, I wasn't happy with my surroundings, but when I moved from a solo cage to a community kitty room with other cats to socialize with, I perked right up! I may not see perfectly, but I am a good-looker, with a lovely charcoal gray coat. And my cloudy eye doesn’t keep me from getting around just fine and nailing a fluffy toy when it comes within reach. I think I could turn gray into “grayt” in the right home—maybe yours?  Charli is a beautiful little pink nosed green eyed sweetheart looking for someone to lounge around with. Maybe not too much lounging as she has a few pounds to drop but she does make for an excellent cuddle buddy! She can get a little touchy about when and where you pet her, possibly due to an old leg injury which causes her to limp. Or to the fact that she's a sassy cat and its her job to tell you when to pet her!  *BONDED PAIR* Chidi ( A39387157 )  and Jasper ( A39387147)  are two lively brothers that will be a happy addition to any home. Chidi is the affectionate name that we’ve given to this beautiful orange house cat who will jump into your lap in a heartbeat. He is full of energy and will chase his furry toys for hours until eventually settling in your arms for a long petting session. He loves to play and loves affection, even if that means just snuggling by your side. Jasper, who is arguably the yin to his yang, is a smoldering gray housecat whose affection has to be earned. He will be a little more hesitant and a little more cautious, watching as his brother dives first into the new environment. But eventually he will calmly settle next to you and purr softly when you show him any signs of affection. These two could easily be adopted separately, but they have grown so used to sleeping side by side and playing together that they are a lovely, complimentary package deal. If you'd like to arrange a time to visit them, please contact us at  chidiandjasper@gmail.com . Chidi & Jasper have been neutered. Name:  Chidi A39387157        & Jasper  A39387147 Age: 5 mos.  Chip is the baby of the litter. He was the runt and the last to do everything.  He is very vocal and his brother Cogsworth and sister Belle look after him. Chip is very food motivated.  When he is hungry he does not want to do anything else but wait for you to get him his can food. Once he has eaten then he will play a little but then he would rather just sit on someone's lap and be spoiled. Chip would be fine living in a home with other animals but I think he would rather be the only one so he gets all the attention for himself.  Chip was found as a stray with his mother, brother and sister shortly after birth on 7/28.  Meet Chloe! She is marked special needs because she has a heart condition and other health issues. Chloe is one sweet little lady in search of a special forever home. This affectionate gal has a heart murmur and collapsed trachea syndrome, but does well on her medications, and her coughing is minimized when she is calm. Her favorite pastimes include walks, car rides, and being wherever her people are! Chloe gets along with cats and other dogs (especially if they're closer to her size), has a loving temperament, and is very friendly with everyone she meets. She'll thrive best in a mellow household with adults or older teens who can be sensitive to her medical needs and give her all the love she deserves! Location: Foster Care (All our dog meets are by appointment for approved adopters only.) Breed: Maltese mix (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label) Age: 6-10 years Weight: Under 15 pounds Reason for surrender to shelter: Chloe's owner had too many animals to take good care of them all.  Meet bonded pair Cora and Gryphon! They are a girl and boy sibling pair that's looking for their forever home! We'll let them introduce themselves, but look at the bottom for more information about them in case they forget to tell you! “Look, Cora, a new friend!” “Shush, Gryph, we’re not supposed to talk to strangers.” G: “Well, let’s introduce ourselves then. I’m Sir Gryphon Dante III, a tuxedo cat with the most dignified white socks. My sister and I were rescued from the dark dungeons of CASTLE DOOM!” C: “Sigh. His name is Gryphon or Gryph, maaaybe. We were actually living in a nice, little park with our cat colony. But snot-face here needed some medical care. We were taken in by a wonderful cat home and the two humans who occasionally stopped by. It was a little tough adjusting at first…” G: “Liar! You were such a scaredy-tabby! So, this is how it went down. After we scoped the place out, I started exploring and escaping their pathetic dungeon. Then the humans gave up trying to keep me contained and we started to hang with the rest of the cat crew.” C: “But now, Gryph and I are ready for our forever home. He likes to talk big, but Gryph is a big softie. He's constantly playing with some mouse toy or chasing after a ball.” G: “And Cora’s probably hiding. Don’t worry though, she’ll eventually stop hiding after she sees how much fun she’s missing out on. There’s belly pats and head rubs. Places to catch some sweet sun and wand toys to chase after. But she also sometimes gets scared and runs away, don’t take it personally, she just gets surprised easily. It’s what kept us alive out on the streets, y’know? Oh, and places to escape Cora’s relentless licking. She purrs so loud until she zonks out.” C: “Yeah, okay, Gryph. You’re the one that gets all chicken little when you’re put in the carrier. But, we really don’t like being separated and that's why we want a forever together.” G: “Yeah, Cora! You’re my ride-or-die! You’re practically family. WEST PHILLY, born and raised!” C: “Gryph, you nincompoop, I’m your sister.” G: “So, yeah, come meet us! We’re not too scared of really mellow dogs, and we get along with most cats. We love our foster-siblings, especially our big brother who we follow around all day. A quiet house would be awesome since Cora doesn’t like too loud or sudden movements. Oh, and maybe put away the toys at night or I probably won’t ever fall asleep.” Name: Cora & Gryphon Age: 4 months Reason for surrender: found stray, needed medical attention Animal ID#: A39367865 & A39367879   Please email foster parent at jason.z.haque@gmail.com for more information!  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .  _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp.To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.            Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring.  Danni Devito is a sweet girl who is 8 years young.  She is a very special cat once she gets comfortable with you.  Get ready for round the clock snuggling and all night cuddling!  Her favorite spot in the house is right next to her people.    We hope Danni's new family will be able to continue to help with her weight loss journey.   Danni would like to be fed a high quality wet food two times daily, so she can keep up healthy eating habits.  She also has only her front teeth and she cannot chew dry kibble.  Don't worry, Danni will make sure you don't miss her meal times, she's very good at telling time.   Danni would prefer to be the Queen of your castle, but she and our docile senior resident cat have been getting along.  Danni can get startled easily and would like a calm home to settle into.  Older, respectful kids would be fine, but little ones would be too much for her.  She really would flourish in a home where she could get as much affection as possible.     Age:  8 yrs Animal ID#: A38305875 This pet is not at the shelter.  This bouncy lady is Deja! She's a cute pocket pittie with the biggest smile we've ever seen! Although she's full grown at a year old, she still likes to have fun like a youngster and will do great with someone who can continue to polish her manners and focus her energy, 'bootcamp'-style. She'll pay all your hard work off with lots of play time and licks! Due to her need for strict, regimented training, it is recommend Deja live in an adult-only home as the only animal. Deja gets overstimulated in busy environments so we'd love to find a home for her that's farther away from city centers- all the better to run around where there's more space! If you're looking for a best friend who will always make you laugh, we recommend you come and meet Deja today. She'd love an active home that can practice her commands with her, and her own will certainly need sturdy walking/running gear since she's got plenty of muscle!   Age: 1 yearWeight: 38 pounds (but she still has some growing to do!)How I came to PAWS: Deja was surrendered to the city shelter because her owners realized they didn't have enough to give her the time, training, and exercise she really needs.   Meet Dizzy and Walter: a bonded pair of cats who must be adopted together! From Dizzy and Walter's foster parents: Initially we weren't sure if Dizzy ever slept. He was always wired and ready to play, and we couldn't seem to wear him out. Playdates with our resident cats were unsuccessful, as Dizzy's play style was too aggressive for them, and we just ended up seeing a lot of fur flying. By the time we finally introduced him to Walter, we were at our wits end. Today, he's a totally different guy! He's still energetic and playful as ever, but he also curls up with you and chills on the couch. He likes hugs and ear skritches, and we've even seen him sleeping! Besides Walter, one thing Dizzy really loves is cheese. He loves cheese sauce, preferably on some kind of fish with bacon. It doesn't sound too appetizing to us, but he seems to really love it. Walter is a spunky, short-haired tabby with beautiful striped markings. He's also got belly spots! Walter is curious about everything. He loves to explore and gets along well with other cats. It takes him a little time to warm up to people when they first meet, but if Dizzy says you're ok, then Walter will follow. Walter was a little skittish initially, but Dizzy has helped him become more confident! He will play also with anything and everything, crinkle balls, crumpled papers, sponges, you name it! We really love these guys so much and would love to have these guys find a home where they can really shine!  Domino is a sweet and playful kitten. He and his brothers Jackson and Nichols have brought so much fun and love into our home during their foster stay. Domino is a happy kitten and especially loves to be scratched on the head and behind the ears. He is very affectionate, and if you sit still long enough, he is sure to climb up on your shoulder and purr in your ear. Domino enjoys his (supervised) excursions out of the kitten room to exotic places like the living room couch, but is usually happy to return to the safety of his brothers and the kitten room at the end of his trip. Domino does well with adults and can be good around children too, but doesn't like loud noises or being grabbed. Domino's favorite toys are the ribbon teaser and crinkle fish. Domino has not had much interaction with other cats or dogs, but he has a fairly easy going personality when playing with his brothers.    The kittens get along well with both adults and children, but tend to hide under the bed from loud noises or grabbing hands.    Favorites: Napping on human laps, rainbow ribbon chaser, crinkle fish toy, chew toys, cuddles, climbing on shoulders, chewing on hair.   Hi, my name is Dr. Duffy! I am a laid back kind of gal who will quickly warm up to you with a little bit of time. I would love a calm and quiet home with older kids or just adults. I absolutely love head rubs! How to describe myself in one word... Soft? Yes. It goes beyond my soft orange and white fur. I’ve got a soft personality, too. I am a sweet, gentle girl—obviously, once someone’s pet, though I was found as a stray—and I will sit softly on your lap while you pet me. I really appreciate human attention. Tail-less? Not quite. I have a Manx-like stub that is pretty cute—and highly evolved. If people don’t need tails, why would I? Ready? Absolutely. I’m here at PAWS Northeast waiting for a kind person who wants a soft, small-tailed feline companion. Then I could easily find a word to describe both of us: Lucky!  BONDED PAIR SPECIAL NEEDS   Hello! My name is Dumpling, and this is my sister, Noodle. Between the two of us, we only have 1 working eye, but we make it work. I do all of the seeing for both of us! We need to stay together because I help her out when she's having trouble finding her way around. We love people and will purr the whole time while we cuddle our humans. I love to play, but my sister can be a little shy, probably because she doesn't see well. She'd rather sit in your lap for pets than play with a toy. We get along with other cats and we love getting treats from people. We were named after vacuums because we LOVE food. We're experts at finding treat bags and inhaling all treats!  We will also steal your tacos, sandwiches, and muffins so you better eat those fast! :) We also happily greet you at the door when you come home! (Please feed us as a reward.)   Both cats are very gentle when playing with you and are always happy to get attention. Bissell (grey female) is more affectionate of the pair, but Dyson (orange male) is also very loving once he warms up to you.  Hi I am Flik and I am super curious - I like to sniff everything and cuddle with my foster mom! I love to sleep next to her at night and play right before bedtime. When I am hungry, I let my foster mom know by meowing and rubbing against her legs. Meeting new people is fun, but I do need some time to get comfortable - once I am, I LOVE being rubbed and picked up. Maybe i will even climb on your shoulder! I love to have a cat buddy to play hide and seek with and run around. Wand toys and play mice are my favorite and I will play for hours.  Name: Flik Age: ~5 months Reason for surrender: Flik was found abandoned in Northeast Philly before coming to PAWS.  Franklin is the life of the party! If there's action, this social guy wants to be a part of it. Franklin is a sweet and confident guy who wants to make friends with anyone who enters the room. The only thing he loves as much as playing is spending time with people! Franklin is the opposite of a couch potato and will be a great fit for someone who likes their cats to be super lively. Franklin's play style has proven to be a little overwhelming for other cats, but he may be able to live with a playful dog with proper introductions. Franklin likes kids and can live with older, cat-experienced children who understand his play style. Franklin loves people so much that he gets anxious when they're away a lot, so he'd be happiest with someone who works from home.   Call me quiet, demure, tentative, gentle. Not a scaredy cat, but not bold either. I'm here in a cat room at PAWS Northeast, an introvert in a room full of extroverts—rambunctious older guys who hog all the attention. But that's just not my style. Instead, I prefer to slink like a panther and watch from a distance—at least for now. I am a youngster, after all. Once the other cats in the room are done hogging all the attention I like to creep out and steal some one-on-one time with you.  If that sounds like your kind of cat, let's meet.  Gritty is a very affectionate adult cat who would love to spend the winter asleep on your chest!  This smaller-framed guy was abandoned by a previous guardian in not-so-great shape. He is very grateful to be inside, well-fed and loved, and he lets you know it by running to the door to greet you and snuggling into your arms.   In his foster home, he has been content to sleep and cuddle, and hasn’t been a big player, though that might change when he gets into a home of his own!  He is great on car trips to the vet, and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression toward his foster mom’s resident cats when they appear on the other side of the door (though he hasn’t met them directly because, well, they aren’t very nice to new cats!).  He’s a pretty quiet guy, though he does make little chirps when you bring him his dinner. He has strong food preferences, and thus far says a polite 'no' to anything except chicken or turkey canned food and pizza, so his adopter should be aware of his preferences.  Watch this animal's video:      Name: Gritty Age: adult Reason for surrender: unknown, owner surrender Animal ID#: A39731777 Please email Gritty's foster parent at gmzoller@gmail.com for more information!  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .  Hello there!  My name is Ivy and I am looking for my furever home! I was rescued off the street and get a bit nervous when I first meet new people, but after a couple of days I will be your best friend and strut around like I own the place!!  I follow my foster mom everywhere and want lots of attention! I know humans have to work, and I entertain myself during the day while my foster mom is out, but I get so excited when I know she is coming home; I greet her at the door with lots of hello meows and rub all up against her legs!  I really love getting chin rubs and cuddling on the couch.  I always let my foster mom know when I'm in a cuddly mood by walking up to her and rolling over onto my back.   My favorite hobby is playing with toy mice.  I particularly enjoy scattering them all over the apartment and I sometimes drop them at my foster mom's feet so she will throw them for me.   I currently live with 4 feline foster siblings.  We are not best friends (not for lack of trying!), but they put up with my kitten antics.  I love having other cats around and need to go to a house with another feline friend.  For more info and photos please search my Instagram hashtag #Ivythefosterkitten and reach out to my foster mom at amychev22@gmail.com.  Name: Ivy A#: A39991033 Gender: female Age: 4 months How I came to PAWS: Found stray Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .  _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp.To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.            Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring.  Jackson's a peppy little guy who's very chatty and eager to interact with folks. What a little charmer! He has a friendly, playful nature. It is undeniable that he can blend in just about anywhere.  Jackson enjoys walking on the leash with his favorite humans. He will scent-mark the whole neighborhood to let everyone know that the life of the party was there. In his first few weeks in foster care he has a good relationship with his foster mom, always making eye contact and attending to her cues. Jackson has sensitive skin because he is still recovering from a flea allergy from his days on the streets. In time, he'll grow a gorgeous coat that will make heads turn. His adopter will need to keep up with regular flea preventative, brushing, and grooming to make sure his skin and fur stay in tip-top shape. His hair is soft and baby fine as it grows back, and he's developing some waves or slight curls on the ends. He enjoys a good grooming! Gentle grooming relaxes this little guy.    Jackson tolerates other dogs, and is presently doing fine sharing a space with his foster parent's pup. He would do best with older, calm kids, and we haven't introduced him to other cats, yet, so we're not sure how he feels about them! Jackson settles down in his bed quickly and does not complain being left alone. He seems to know to wait to go outside to potty. He has slept through the night and did not need to use pee pads when left home during the day in a large penned area. He has met several neighborhood dogs and did great socially. He was also calm when a toddler gave him a gentle hug on his head. He will make a loyal companion to the person or family who can see the little beauty he is inside and out. Name: Jackson Location: Foster care (This dog is not at the shelter.) Breed: Terrier mix (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  Jackson is a playful kitten. He loves to climb on his humans and show his love by purring and nibbling at your ears. Jackson is the ringleader of his family group- his brothers Domino and Nichols seem to follow his lead when playing or eating! Jackson is a fairly social kitten and likes interacting with children and adults. He does not, however, enjoy the vacuum cleaner or other loud noises. Jackson's favorite toys are those that have feathers on them. He will chase after any feather endlessly. Jackson can be a little mischievous and is always the first to run out of the room when the door is opened. He enjoys exploring 'uncharted lands' like the living room and kitchen, but is happy to return to the comfort of the kitten room and his brothers once the adventure is over. Jackson has not had the opportunity to interact with other animals yet, so it's not clear how he would interact with other resident pets. He is a social kitten though, so I could see him being lonely if he was alone a lot.    The kittens get along well with both adults and children, but tend to hide under the bed from loud noises or grabbing hands.    Favorites: Napping on human laps, rainbow ribbon chaser, crinkle fish toy, chew toys, cuddles, climbing on shoulders, chewing on hair. Dislikes: vacuums, loud noises, yelling, being grabbed, nail trimming   Name: Jackson Age: 3 months Reason for surrender: financial hardship Animal ID#: A39632706 Please email foster parent at christine.cook05@gmail.com for more information!  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .  Meet Jason! He's everybody's favorite little tap-dancing long-hair Chi man. He's very social and friendly with most everyone he meets once he warms up to them. He's lived with other small dogs before and tolerates most puppers really well, and could probably make it work with a very polite, dog-friendly cat. We recommend Jason live with kids who are a little older (think teens) and mature enough not to get him too excited. Jason's a fantastic little guy who happens to come equipped with a moderate heart murmur, meaning he should live in as calm and low-key an environment as possible to minimize stress and overexertion that might make his heart overextend itself. In addition to keeping him stress-free and happy, Jason will want to stay healthy maintain a strict diet so he doesn't gain too much weight and put more strain on his heart.  Jordan is an energetic young lady who loves to play! She's a perfect running or jogging partner and loves playing fetch with her plush and rope toys. Jordan does well in a crowd and loved all the pets from people at a recent neighborhood fall festival, remaining calm as multiple people pet her and showed her love! Pet her enough and she'll rock her head all the way back and reveal the cutest puppy eyes you've ever seen.   Jordan loves soaking up all the love and pets from a household and would likely do best as the only dog in the house. She is friendly to other dogs on the street or park and will usually ignore them or give a big ol' sniff and lick before going on her way.  In playgroups once she's confident she can get a little pushy, and since she's still perfecting her manners and training it will be easiest on her future adopter if she is the only dog in the home. She hasn't met cats yet, so it's unclear how she would react to them.   Although she was shaved after being discovered matted with fleas (all gone now!), Jordan's hair is beginning to grow in and is a magnificent shade of silver/grey. She'll love sitting on your lap and getting brushed! She is steadily learning obedience tricks and recently mastered sitting even on a very busy street with lots of distractions!   Jordan could really use an adopter with no children in their since she's working on her mouthiness, and her owner must be committed to working with her on her manners through a strong routine and training regimen.  Meet Kiwi! She's tiny and amazing! She may come off shy at first glance, but give her a little time to warm up and she'll be bouncing around you soliciting play and pets. She's a spry but mature little lady who will need daily brushing and regular trips to the groomer to keep her fur looking good. Kiwi's confidence has been improving by leaps and bounds since entering foster care, but she'll still need an owner who can build her confidence through praise when she's brave, and removal from a situation when she's nervous. She tolerates other animals but needs more socialization- so far she seems to be a little introvert!  Meet Layla! She's got a peppy spirit and a loving nature. Layla's favorite things are to play, take long walks, and snuggle with you. She's super eager to please and loves people so much she just wants to hang out and be with you.  Layla also loves treats and enjoys learning new things to earn a tasty reward!  Layla accompanied a volunteer to the office for the day recently! Here's what volunteer Jenny had to say: "Layla was soooo happy, did crazy zoomies, rolled around on her back, gently forced everyone play with her by placing toys in laps, happily destroyed toys and literally never stopped playing. I got no work done but she was so happy. She’s the sweetest and got so much love, attention and pets today. Love her!" If you're looking for an incredibly sweet running or hiking buddy, she's your gal. Our volunteers take her out on runs and say she's a great companion! Don't worry though, if running isn't your thing, she's also happy with long walks and does really well on a leash.  Layla likes kids and is friendly with other dogs, but we think her enthusiasm makes her a better fit for a home with adults or teenagers and where she can be your only pet.  Her name may be Lemon, but this senior is the sweetest! Lemon came to us with very matted hair after spending some time fending for herself outside, but she's feeling much better after a shave and a bath. Even though this sensitive lady is a bit overwhelmed by the shelter, all it takes are some kind words and a couple of heads scratches for her to open right up to you. Lemon is happiest when she's enjoying a quiet moment on a friendly lap, and what she'd love more than anything is to find someone special to snuggle up to in her golden years. Lemon would be a wonderful addition to a mellow household, and can live with older kids who will be sensitive to her age (she may also be fine with a calm cat or dog who won't mind that she's more interested in people than in them). Like a true gentleman, he’ll make sure to give your hand some grooming in return. Or maybe just a night in?  Mack is down, literally! Lounging in bed is his style and he’s generally happy to sleep in as long as you keep hitting the snooze.  Occasionally he might decide you need some grooms or headbutts just to make sure you don’t completely ignore your adult responsibilities. Mack is an Olympic gold medalist high-jumper, and has reached heights of 1.21 meters! His true passion is parkour, but he’s kinda clumsy. We would never tell him that, though. She's feeling a little unsure here in our kennels, and would love to find an adopter who can continue to help her with her basic commands and manners, and build her confidence with lots of positive reinforcement as she learns. She'll flourish with a regular routine and some help perfecting her housebreaking, and in return she'll give you the most soulful eyes you've ever seen and an abundance of licks and love. Mandy could live with dog-experienced children who are familiar with larger canine friends, and could live with dogs that can match her energy level but won't be too pushy with her or bully her. Mandy tested alright with a very dog-friendly cat and may be able to live with a very confident cat after a proper dog-to-cat introduction. If you're looking for a mushy sweetheart who still knows how to have a great time, Mandy is the girl for you!   Name: Mandy Location: Northeast Adoption Center  (All our dog meets are by appointment for approved adopters only.) Breed:  Pit Bull Terrier mix (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label) Age: 10-12 months Weight: 33 pounds Reason for surrender to shelter: Mandy was dropped off as a found stray by some police officers!  These siblings are a bonded pair and must be adopted together! Meet Pluto and Mercury, two kittens with golden eyes and playful attitudes! This boy-girl pair will come right up to you together and immediately start to purr. They have been in foster care together since 5 days old, and they would like to stay together. Pluto is white with gray markings, and Mercury is gray with white markings. Mercury is a male and he loves to play. His favorite toy in the world is his wand but he will play with almost anything! He’s also been starting to understand fetch and he always has an adorably smug look on his face bringing the toy back. He is less into being held but he does love to snuggle. Mercury has the cutest white markings on his face and little ’thigh-high’ socks on all of his paws. He was also affectionately nick-named Mer-cules. Pluto is our little dwarf planet, she absolutely loves to cuddle and to be around people. Although she isn’t as into toys as her older brother she is equally obsessed with the wand! Pluto is a beautiful white color with tabby spots. Even though she is a shorthair kitten she has incredibly soft fur and loves to rub against people in a loving manner. I love cuddling and stretching out in a nice lap, and will likely hop into yours right when we meet.  Streetwise and handsome, Milford is master of the RBF, and snuggler to all. At the end of a long day he loves to curl up on his bed (aka your lap) while being hand-fed treats. Milford enjoys the finer things in life such as: hunting plastic, kibble-filled mice, and wrestling with lazers. Because of Milford’s expensive taste, he needs an adopter who can supply him with special food to keep him healthy. He’s a champagne and caviar kind of guy. Milford loves attention, and would be happiest as an only cat. Competition bores him. Any doting cat parents out there looking for a Milford to spoil? He will reward you with a lifetime of withering stares. Likes: Laps, lazers, FOOD, and hunting plastic mice.   Does he like other cats? NO. Does he like kids? Older kids who respect his space are ok.  Monsieur Croissant is an awesome cat. This sweet guy is very affectionate and will take every opportunity to give you rubs and head butts or curl up next to you on the couch. MC really loves to play (especially chasing/hunting string/wand toys), and would be thrilled to find a home that has lots of space to run around (indoors, of course!). As a social cat who likes to be part of the action, Monsieur would love for his mom or dad to be at home often, and to spend time playing with him whenever possible.   Although he loves to eat and wants to be involved with all goings-on in the kitchen, Monsieur C. is a small cat. Many people think he's a kitten, but he's actually four years old--He has the benefit of a well-established personality and the playfulness of a relatively young cat. It's the best of both worlds! He would do best in a household with adults (or older children), without dogs. He might do okay with other cats, if the introduction was very slow/gradual.   Name: Monsieur Croissant Age: 4 years How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID: 38187841 This pet is not at the shelter' please email Monsieur Croissant's foster parent at k.klochan@gmail.com for more information!   _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp.To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.            Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring.  Gordita is such a sassy little lady! She was diagnosed by our vets as having Cushings disease, but she doesn't let it slow her down at all! She takes pills every day (for life) to keep her stable, and while she came in to the shelter obese and barely able to run, now Gordita can roll around, run, and sometimes plays fetch!  This adorable female kitten was found as a stray with her littermates and has been fostered with Oreo A39362379. If you are interested in adopting multiple pets, we would love for them to end up together. If they don't go to a home together, they would do best in a home with some cat siblings and plenty of space to run and play. Mystique is very sweet. She loves people and sometimes sits on laps while her litter mates bound around, tackling one another. She is hops around and chirps, playing with her kitten friends most of the time, of course! She is nicknamed “baby girl,” previously being the smallest and sweetest, but she has really grown into a roly poly kitten. These kittens LOVE people, pets and purring. They have been exposed to young children and other cats. They are very curious about being around and playing with kids and other cats. If they are going to a home with children, they will need continued nail manner lessons and will likely benefit from regular nail trims.  Of the three brothers- Jackson, Domino, and Nichols- Nichols is the shy one. He is happy to cuddle with his humans and purrs easily, but he is easily spooked in new places. When he is brought out of the kitten room for play time in the living room he is quick to dart under the couch or burrow in a blanket for security. Nichols enjoys being petted and will curl up on your chest for a nap if you are laying on the bed. Nichols is generally good with adults and children, but runs and hides from loud noises or grabbing hands. He would be best in a home with school age or older children that understand how to be calm and gentle while he is getting used to the new surroundings. Nichols can be very playful- especially if you bring out the teaser ribbon or toys that he can chase. Nichols has not been exposed to other pets, so it is unclear how he would react. He is very playful and social with his brothers though, so given the time to acclimate he would hopefully do well.   The kittens get along well with both adults and children, but tend to hide under the bed from loud noises or grabbing hands.    Favorites: Napping on human laps, rainbow ribbon chaser, crinkle fish toy, chew toys, cuddles, climbing on shoulders, chewing on hair. Dislikes: vacuums, loud noises, yelling, being grabbed, nail trimming   Name: Nichols Age: 3 months Reason for surrender: financial hardship Animal ID#: A39632760 Please email foster parent at christine.cook05@gmail.com for more information!  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .   Meet Olga and Scrappy, a bonded dynamic duo who will definitely keep you laughing!  These chihuahua mixes were surrendered together, and are believed to be a mom / son pair.  Because they are very attached to each other, we are seeking a home that will adopt both of them together.   Scrappy, estimated to be 1-1/2 years old, is a bundle of energy who can jump to amazing heights.  Olga, estimated to be approximately 8 years old, is mellower but can also be very acrobatic -- can even walk on just her front legs.  Scrappy loves taking care of Olga including cleaning her face and cuddling up next to her. Olga helps provide Scrappy, who can be a bit anxious at times, with confidence and a sense of security.  They enjoy long walks together through their foster mom's neighborhood as well as playing with each other in the home -- followed by immediate naps on the couch.  They are very affectionate with people and will compete with each other to get on your lap and give you kisses.  Their facial expressions can't be described well enough with words, but are guaranteed to make you smile.  They really are an entertaining pair!     Olga recently had two mammary masses removed at PennVet which were biopsied and determined to be benign.  As a result, no follow up care or visits will be required.     Olga and Scrappy are friendly with most small dogs they've met, but are reactive to most larger dogs.  It is unknown how they are with cats and may be too curious about them, but can be tested if needed. They would probably do better with older children who can respect and understand their needs. If  you would like to arrange a meeting please email foster parent  jocebarton@gmail.com to learn more! Please note you will need an approved PAWS dog adoption application before setting up any meet and greets.  Location: Foster Care (All our dog meets are by appointment for approved adopters only.) Breed: Mixed (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label) Age: Olga is ~8 years, Scrappy is ~1.5 years Weight: both dogs are ~7-10 pounds Reason for surrender to shelter: If you are interested in meeting these dogs, please email adoptions@phillypaws.org for an application.  If you have questions, please email the above address or contact our adoption staff at 215-298-9680, ext. 16.  This adorable female kitten was found as a stray with her littermates and has been fostered with Mystique A39362384. If you are interested in adopting multiple pets, we would love for them to end up together. If they don't go to a home together, they would do best in a home with some cat siblings and plenty of space to run and play. Oreo is the smallest, but, without a doubt, the most fearless. She is the fastest and most playful. While Oreo tends to be our little daredevil, she also may be the smartest. You can’t pull a fast one on her with toys. She is very beautiful and enjoys sitting with people, being brushed and purring, when she takes a break from zooming around at top speeds! These kittens LOVE people, pets, and purring. They have been exposed to young children and other cats. They are very curious about being around and playing with kids and other cats. If they are going to a home with children, they will need continued nail manner lessons and will likely benefit from regular nail trims. If you are interested, please email my foster mom Liz at eaps1386@gmail.com.  Oreo is a sleek and soft sweetheart. He rarely meows but loves to trill conversationally. He is all black on top with bold white markings underneath, his paw pads and whiskers are a mix of black and white too which is really cool. He is very bold, with a confident and adaptable personality-he immediately got used to being in his new foster home after a few minutes of sniffing around, at ease the whole time. When introduced to other cats and a dog at the shelter he was unflinchingly curious and friendly. I’ve never seen him hiss or be grumpy. He likes head pets the most, doesn’t mind being picked up at all. He gets REALLY excited when it’s time for food, but doesn’t overeat. He’s really good about drinking water. His coat is super soft! He likes to sit in laps, sometimes gets bitey when you pet him for a while, but if you slowly back away he will go back to being cuddly. He likes to curl up In my lap after eating and purrs really loud. He has lots of energy and loves to play-he is very gentle with his paws. I have never had problems with him making noise or waking me up at night, he just sleeps whenever I do on the bed, a very peaceful kitty. I think he would be good in any kind of home, so laid back. Oreo is a really great cat! His confident personality makes so many things super easy! I think you will love him.  Otter is an adorable and friendly cat. He is a “velcro cat” and will follow you anywhere for a little attention. He loves a belly rub and will always find a way to wriggle into your lap or arms. He has a very short attention span, though, and will quickly slip away only to come back in a minute for more pets. He is energetic in the late afternoon and loves to play with a wand or any chase-able toy, but by evening he will be snuggled up for a nap or trying to jump with you into bed for a warm nights sleep.     Otter is a very timid cat, and is easily spooked or scared, so it is best to be gentle and reassuring with him— then he will come right out of his shell! When he does get spooked, Otter will usually find the darkest smallest place to hide out in, so don’t be surprised if he wiggles his way under your couch or chair!     Otter does get excited and playful sometimes, and will pounce on your hand or arm. When he does, he is very gentle with his claws and teeth, so is fun to play back.     This is a sweet, beautiful and friendly cat who needs a home where he can explore and snuggle, play… and wriggle into all the dark cozy places he can find.  Hi! My name is Peanut, and I am a beautiful and affectionate lady who's ready to move in with you and steal your heart. It takes me a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but if you give me treats I will be your best friend forever and ever, or until you run out of treats, whichever comes first. I would prefer a home with no other pets and a family that will give me a little bit of space and let me come to them for affection on my own terms. If you're down for that, I will be a beautiful and loving roommate who makes up for not paying rent by providing lots of cuddles and even allowing the occasional belly rub. Outside of cuddle time, I enjoy food, chasing evil red laser dots, playing with squeaky mouse toys, more food, sunbathing, taking many naps, and food. If I randomly start darting around the house, it is because I'm trying to protect you from dangers your mortal eyes cannot perceive or comprehend. Or maybe because you made a loud noise. I like my foster dad, but he's a little too stingy with the treats, so I am ready to headbutt him goodbye and find my forever home. So apply to adopt with PAWS and reach out to him so I can meet you and pass silent judgement on your choice of outfit. And if it works out, maybe I'll be your forever cat. You're welcome.  Got milk? With my cool white mustache—not quite a smile, not quite a sneer—it looks like I could be in one of those ads. The milky white extends to my paws, chest, and belly, which go with my stunning black fur like a dream. All in all, I am a well-groomed tuxedo lady with a soft coat.I like petting, but I can get over-stimulated and have enough of it. Let's face it. It was rough out there in the outside world, and the cat room at PAWS Northeast is fine, but not exactly the peace and quiet I'd prefer. So be patient with me, and I will get there. I may even give you one of my cute chirps. One more thing: I am on a special diet (C/D). No biggie, but I wanted you to know.  I have the softest silkiest fur in the adoption center! A fun fact that you may not know about me is that I have brown fur on my belly. I LOVE catnip and pets all over - head rubs, back rubs, booty rubs... I'll even reciprocate and rub up against your legs when you get home! I am a calmer gentleman, but I still enjoy a good play session now and then! I am FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) positive, which means I am more susceptible to illness but I do not require any special treatment. FIV is spread to other cats almost exclusively through deep bite wounds, rather than sharing a home and having casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, so I can live with other cats who play gently. FIV cannot be spread to people or dogs. Staff will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have, so come meet me to know more!  Ron and Hermione are ready to work their magic and charm their way into your heart!  When you first meet them, you might think that they found an invisibility cloak!  In reality, they are both very shy and have probably squeezed into any cat-shaped hiding spot that they could find.  Within a day or so, Hermione's curiosity will get the better of her.  She will come say hello, and in no time at all, she transforms into a super-affectionate, cuddly lap cat!  Ron takes a bit longer to warm up to muggles, perhaps from his lack of exposure growing up in an all wizard family.  He puts on a brave face, but deep down he is a sweetheart who just wants a safe and loving home.  He needs a human who will be  very  patient with him, while he slowly learns to trust.  He gains confidence from Hermione and eventually realizes you are a friend when he sees how much she enjoys your company.  Once they settle in, they start to be quite adventurous and pull out their Marauder's Map in the hopes of finding secret passages to Honeydukes!  So far, they have only managed to find a dead end that led to a boring corner of the kitchen and another that led to the bathroom sink.  They're starting to think that the map is defective outside of Hogwarts!  Ron and Hermione have been together since they were kittens and must be adopted together.  They love to spend time together cuddling, playing or just hanging out!  Their favorite hobby so far has been practicing their flying skills on their door-mounted cat tree!  Hermione also really enjoys playing with toy mice, but Ron hasn't shown much interest.  He's probably still getting over the goblet incident from transfiguration class, or the mice might remind him too much of Scabbers!  They have lived with dogs and other cats before, but are a bit selective about who they accept as friends.  They would prefer to be by themselves or with other calm animals who will give them space to adjust to their new home.  For photos and updates please visit their Instagram hashtag #RonandHermionethecats.  Age:  7-8 years old  How we came to PAWS: owners were moving and unable to keep us Animal ID#: A13246526 & A13246572 We are not at the shelter.   Meet Shaquille, a talented man who was found in the parking lot of PAWS' Grays Ferry clinic. Just like his namesake, he demonstrated impressive running and dodging skills, before going straight into the net. Nowadays, he's more of a retired athlete who spends his days lying in the windowsill of his foster home, though he still enjoys the occasional workout with his toys and scratching post.  Shaq is a bit of a shy boy who might run away and hide at first, but if you wait for him to come to you (and maybe offer some tuna) he will let you brush him and scratch his head endlessly.  He’s a pretty chill guy who would do best in a calm home with people (and even cats) who will be patient as he adjusts to his new surroundings. .  Tails is the classic shy guy sidekick you're looking to team up with! He's nervous and unsure of himself and will just need time to adjust to his surroundings, as well as any new people and cats, but once he does and is ready for adventure you'll find every level of this game called life is all the better for selecting this unique character! Due to his shy nature, he shouldn't live in an active home with young kids or a lot of new people coming in and out. He can live alone or with other cats, but is a little socially awkward and sometimes doesn't know what to do with all of his affection and energy, so because of that he would likely do better in a home as a solo cat until he gains some confidence and learns how to manage that energy around a new cat.  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) Age: 1-2 years old How I Came to PAWS: Owner Surrender, Too Many Animals Animal ID#:  A39841440 Please email my foster parent at richwilkinson@phillypaws.org for more information about me!   _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp.To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.            Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring. He is great on walks and very friendly with other dogs and people.Timmy normally looks like a puffy little cloud with legs, but he came to us very matted and uncomfortable so PAWS vets opted to shave him during her neuter surgery. He'll need regular grooming and brushing to keep his fur in tip-top shape once it grows back in! Age: 6-10 years How I came to PAWS: Timmy was surrendered because his previous owners found they couldn't care for him anymore. Animal ID#: A39824933 Weight: 8 pounds Breed: Mini Poodle mix (It’s impossible to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, we are only guessing at their mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.)  Location: Foster Care All our dog meets are by appointment only; to get started, please complete the adoption application.  Look at this cute little bean! Tito's a tiny lad, only weighing around 5 pounds (and he certainly does not need to gain much more weight with such a tiny frame), but he thinks he's got the spirit of a dog five times his size. Tito can be chatty, he likes to share his opinions regardless of if you asked for them, but he also likes playing with his dog friends and soliciting pets from humans that come to hang out with him. Tito's not a huge fan of cats, but he can potentially live with kids who can take care to handle him gently and be respectful of his space, should he need it.   Age: 2-4 years How I Came to PAWS: Tito was surrendered because his owner was in poor health.  Toni is a super energetic, expressive, and playful black and white cat. She'll spend hours playing with her cat toys either by herself or with her potential owner. She's also quite lovable, asking for cuddles whenever she is in the mood and crawling into your lap to sleep. Toni is currently on a prescription diet that helps prevent crystals from forming in her urine. As long as she's fed only her special dry food, she's very healthy as long as she sticks to her diet. She would thrive in a home with adults and older kids, and as the only cat to take up all your love and attention. Toni is also enrolled in our Cat Pawsitive program! We use clicker training and treats to teach her things like sit, spin, and high five!  UPDATE about Toni: Toni is playful and smart. She loves playing laser and all kinds of teasers, or just a small mouse doll or ball with a bell inside. Chasing after the red dot is her forever love, and she’d sometimes turn to look at your hand, as if she knows you’re leading the mysterious dot.  Everyday she wants pets and love. Note that she doesn’t like her back be touched very much (a little is ok, she’ll just walk away). Sometimes she will get close to you, like walk around you or stand on your lap. Being around you is her duty that she will always fulfill. Even when she’s not next to you, you can always turn to see her looking at you.  You should also get her a scratcher. She uses it daily with me and eventually she will bite the cardboard with her teeth. That’s just one of the weird/cool/unique things about her.  Toni eats a special diet C/D (dry food) that is priced slightly higher than other regular dry food, yet considering that you don’t have to get her treats or canned food or worry about which brand to buy, I’d say it is not a bad thing. She enjoys the C/D food and eats up every bit in her plate.  As for some things that she doesn’t like: hair brushing and the sound of plastic bags! Although she likes petting, I can only use the hair brush on her for a minute. I’m not sure if it is the brushing or the brush that she hates, but every time she sees the brush, she’ll attack it with her little paws!   Watch Toni's video:   Age: 2-4 yearsHow I came to PAWS: Death of owner/familyAnimal ID#: A24150895 Current location: Foster Care.  Twelve has got places to go and people to see. You can often find him wrestling with his cat buddies or amusing himself with a toy. He is a high-energy dude who would be happiest in a home with another playful cat. A calmer, less energetic cat would probably be overwhelmed by Twelve's enthusiasm for all things. Twelve's love of playtime would be a little too much for young kids but would fit well in most other situations. He is a very entertaining guy looking for someone to amuse.  Tyga a.k.a. Tito is a grey tabby who is a friend to all. He gets along well with both cats and dogs and would do best in a house with other animal friends. Tyga loves to sit in hair (be it a beard or on your head) and purr. He has not been around kids, but is used to being picked up and having his nails clipped. His favorite toys are balls that make noise and cardboard scratchers. He is very curious about the outdoors and can't be around an open door without trying to escape, so currently his foster family is leash training him. Tyga is a quiet sweetheart. He is pretty easy-going with his human friends, but if you aren't careful he loves to follow up his kisses with a little love nibble.  Loves: food, lots of naps, sleeping near you; especially under the covers on her back, chewing wires or black string (will need help with this), laying on electronics or plastic items such as phones, remotes, and water bottles, batting toys around, playing with her favorite string toy.  She is a selective cuddler.  She will let you know when she wants to lay on you and she’s so sweet about it.  Hates: children that run around her quickly, shove toys in her face, and make lots of noise  Ideal situation: single cat home with a calm person who leads a calm lifestyle.  Lot’s of laying around and some playing.  She was fostered alongside her very needy bother and was very anxious the whole time.  He was adopted before her and now she is thriving being the only calm, easy going kitty in the house.  Does not need a lot of space.  Currently in a studio.      Easy to clip nails.  I’ve had to rinse her under the sink with warm water to get stuff off her feet with no problem.  She eats wet food once a day and is free fed dry food all day.  She would steal her brother’s wet food, so she has to ability to overeat with multi-cats.  Eats normally being the only cat.  She is currently getting used to being alone so there is some talking when I leave the apartment.  Age: 4 monthsHow I came to PAWS: Found as a strayAnimal ID#: A39545715 Current location: Foster Care ( This animal is not currently in the shelter and is in a foster home)  Once you have submitted an application and have been approved you can email the foster Lauren at  LCrouch@urbn.com for questions and to set up a meet_____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp.To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.            Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring.  Meet Zapp Brannigan, a handsome little orange guy who likes lap time almost as much as he likes nap time. He likes other cats that can match his energy, and loves any and all toys- especially wand ones and laser pointers that can get him jumping and running! Zapp was found as a stray this past Spring and was sick for quite a while, until PAWS vets determined that allergies were prompting her perpetual illness. Zapp is much more stable now on a hypoallergenic diet, and his adopters will need to keep him on that strict diet to avoid relapse into illness again. Zapp's hobbies include doing pigeon impressions, soliciting head pats, and playing tag with the other resident and foster kitties in the home. He's very food motivated (so guard your human snacks!!), and toy motivated, so if you need him to do something for you just butter him up with those sweet, sweet bribes. Zapp especially loves forehead rubs, he tolerates kisses, and is a two-time Regional Head Bonk Champion- in his mind, at least. **This animal has additional medical needs that the foster would like to discuss before setting up a meet to adopt.**   Name: Zapp Brannigan Age: 1 year Reason for surrender: found as stray Animal ID#: A38288232 Please email my foster parent at angela@phillypaws.org for more information about me!  Current location: Foster care (this pet is not at the shelter) www.phillypaws.org Please apply online by emailing  adoptions@phillypaws.org .
