About Eileen

Come on, Eileen! This young, tiny tripod is full of sass and has a lot to say! Eileen was found horribly injured earlier this summer and was taken to the city shelter where we pulled her from the at-risk-list. The vets couldn't believe how friendly she was despite having such a massively injured front arm that she needed an immediate amputation -- chances are, she had been in pain for quite some time. After learning how to maneuver as a tripod, Eileen quickly took the cafe by storm. Although small, she is not shy in sharing her opinions loudly whether they be demands for treats (she has a slight addiction to Temptations), frustration at other cats getting in her way (which also just means getting too close) or happiness at some good grub (she sounds somewhat like Cookie Monster while eating). Eileen would be overjoyed to find a home all to herself where she can have unlimited human attention, although she would probably put up with another polite cat. We are all big fans of this opinionated and gorgeous girl! Could she be the tripod for you?

Young and playful Lucy is a loving and careful mother of three silly kittens. Rescued from the streets of Brooklyn when her babies were newborns, Lucy is enjoying the opportunity to be a kitten again herself. Since Lucy is only around a year old, she would love to be adopted with one of her kittens as they all enjoy playing together.  Lucy is a sleek and slender grey short-hair, with crisp white markings on her neck and feet and vivid green eyes. She is the Audrey Hepburn of cats -- elegantly tall with an extra-long tail. Serene and yet curious about the world around her, Lucy’s always interested in what humans or other cats are doing and enjoys looking out the window. She is a confident explorer and will seek out new spaces. She easily slips under, over, and around most barriers and extra care should be taken to prevent escapes. She has more inner calm than usually seen in a cat. She’s especially relaxed when picked up or carried. She will seek out a human to curl up with, but never tries to get between the reader and her book or walk on the computer keyboard as many cats do. Though she rarely mews, she will sometimes make a little chirruping sound when she’s looking for something or someone. She is fastidious in her grooming and is often be seen aggressively cleaning her kittens. Interested in meeting Lucy and her kittens? Please fill out an application. show less

Soft, gentle lap cat seeks long term relationship with cuddly human. My name is Marley and I am tired of an endless series of casual meetings with strangers. I am ready to settle down in a stable, forever home and devote myself to one or more good people. I am seven years old and ok, maybe I have a little bit of a paunch, but if you make a point of it, I do get into a bit of sport with my favorite pink ribbon, or (be still my beating heart!) a Cat Dancer! I’ve still got it! ;-) I like to sit on the back of the couch and watch the tube with you and if you look in my direction I will say hi with a chirp. I might even crawl into your lap! I enjoy telling you all about my day when I’m in that chatty kind of mood. A good roll in some catnip is always welcome. And boy, do I like to snuggle up to somebody and get some lovin! Belly rubs are my favorite! And you will like it too, because I’m sooo soft and fluffy! The thing is though, I’m a bit shy. My owner of six years left me for a girlfriend with allergies and the loss was traumatic. After that I was bounced around a bit too much and so sometimes I want to chill under the bed when new people come to visit. However, I do get over it quickly especially when treats and chin rubs are involved. I would also probably be happiest as a solo cat, although there is room for negotiation with the right feline. I am healthy, FIV/FLV negative, neutered, and vaccinated. I am now living with a nice lady, but she won't commit. So if you're ready for a sweet, devoted, faithful companion, come meet me at my Clinton Hill foster home! show less
