About Wolfie

Meet Wolfie! Wolfie is a beautiful, 3-year-old, bicolor German Shepherd. I am his foster mom, and I think he is the sweetest, most loving dog ever! Wolfie does not know his size, and would love to be a lap dog. However, I have managed to convince him to sit next to me, and not on me. When possible, Wolfie will sit under my feet non-stop. Wolfie is house trained and crate trained, and will alert you that he needs to go out. Like most of us, Wolfie does not like to stay in the back yard for long in the Texas summer heat. He does love to take rides in the car, or go for a walk or a run. His manners on the leash are very good, and he does not pull at all. He knows a few commands, but still needs reinforcement to perform them due to getting distracted easily. The commands he knows are sit, down, come, and leave it. He is very gentle with everyone he meets, both animals and people. Wolfie does not understand the concept of toys and play yet, but he does look interested when he sees us playing with our other dog. He is a great dog for someone who likes to get out and go, but then cuddle up and relax in the house. He loves to watch television with his family, especially if he gets his ears rubbed. Rewarding Wolfie is not done with treats, as so far, he does not care for them. His favorite thing is to be told that he is a good boy, and to get petted and loved on. His face lights up when he realizes that he has made you happy. Wolfie can get a bit nervous around people speaking loudly, so a quiet house would be ideal, with a family that is willing to take things slowly. He does like children, as long as they are gentle with him. If children (or adults) get overly loud or excited, he will hide if he can. Our family loves Wolfie. We think he is terrific just like he is, and we would love to introduce him to a family that wants to give him a loving, forever home.
