Hi, I'm Matilda! Apparently my name means brave and strong, which after what I've been through, I'd have to agree suits me
I'm about 1 year old and 45 lbs. The humans say I'm a Labrador mix... with the gentle and sweet personality of one too.
I pretty much have been living on the streets my whole life. I was scared, all alone and pregnant. I gave birth to seven babies early one morning at a home construction site. Two babies were stillborn and the other five were taken by someone (maybe they thought they were doing the right thing). When I was approached the next day by different humans, they found me curled up in the dirt, shivering and huddled with my two stillborn babies I didn't even lift my head because I was so sad and scared. Turns out these two kind humans had been trying to rescue me off the streets for over a week!! I'm thankful they never gave up on me: that fateful day I really needed their help. Trusting them was the best decision I ever made. I was taken to the vet, checked out and given all the care I needed. Ever since that day, I've gotten all the TLC, love and treats a girl could ask for.
I'm slowly learning to trust. My humans constantly tell me I'm the sweetest, most gentle and perfect young lady. I get along with their other dogs and cats. I like to spend my days hanging out in my bed or crate. I'm potty trained too. I'm still figuring out this walking up and down stairs thing and the leash thing, but I know I'll master it all in no time.
I'm pretty healthy now; I've had all my shots and am gaining weight. I'm heartworm positive, but they tell me that's no biggie and it will be taken care of.
Now I'm looking for a family (or foster family) who will provide me a loving and patient home where I can continue this journey.
