About Teq

In order to alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has developed the new Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. THESE ANIMALS ARE NOT LOCATED IN ANY OF THE SOCIETY'S PHYSICAL SHELTER LOCATIONS. PLEASE REFER TO THE CONTACT INFORMATION IN THE PROFILE BELOW TO INQUIRE ABOUT ADOPTING.

Teq has been a part of our family for about 5 years. He is an extremely sweet tempered dog who loves to play. He does exceptionally well with other dogs, both large and small. He has been in our home with another medium sized dog and all interactions with our second dog are playful and respectful. He has spent time at doggie daycare and dog parks. When around other dogs he loves to play. He is a bit noisy. He whines when playing or when excited. He is very aggressive towards cats and other small fluffy animals.
We have two small children and have never had an issue with Teq interacting with the children. He loves to play with them. They have played with his ears, tail, and skin, tugging and pulling, and there has never been an issue.
In our care, Teq has always been a healthy dog with no need to take medication. He was rescued from a beach in Puerto Rico. There, he had broken teeth removed from eating rocks and was dewormed and vaccinated. We got him from the West Suburban Humane Society, where he received obedience training. He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.
While Teq and Scotch have lived together many years, I would not say that they have to be adopted together. They get along well, but are not in an emotionally bonded state.
Teq has been a well loved companion to our family for about 5 years. We unexpectedly found out that we are having a 3rd child. When the child is born we will have 3 kids, 3 and under. Our time is going to grow very short, shorter than it already is. We are having to sell our house and relocate to a smaller one. We do not want to have the dogs live with us in a situation where they barely get exercise or attention. It is truly unfair to them. We are looking to find a new family for them that can devote the time, attention, and financial assistance that we can no longer provide.
