Meet Gemmy! This curious, gentle pup is an American Staffordshire/Lab mix and is around 6 years old (although the vet said she may be younger). Gemmy was surrendered by her owner to the Dallas shelter, and is now looking for her forever home where she can play and explore with her new family. She has a beautiful, shiny brown-red coat and has the most adorable white “socks” on all of her paws. Gemmy is housetrained and loves to be around other dogs, running around and playing with them as much as she can!
This lovable pooch can be quite shy, especially when it comes to meeting strangers and men. However, given a little time, she will warm right up to you and be the most loyal companion! Her foster family says she has a cute, quirky personality, sometimes falling asleep while still sitting up. Gemmy loves waking up in the morning, as she is so excited to say hello to her family and take on the world! She is working on being more comfortable on a leash, and being less timid with people. Once she has the time to get to know and trust you, she will be the most sweet, happy pup.
Gemmy absolutely loves being around other dogs. She lives with other dogs, and has been to doggy daycare with lots of other dogs and has done great! She loves wrestling and chasing other pups, making as many canine companions as possible. If it came between playing with toys and playing with her other furry friends, Gemmy would always choose her puppy pals, paws down! While she loves other dogs, she is not too fond of cats
The ideal home for Gemmy would be one with other dogs who she can bond and run around with. She would do well with a patient family who is willing to gain her trust and allow her to become comfortable with them. With a little patience and kindness, Gemmy will be the most wonderful adventure buddy there is!
