Adopt Little Toby

Male Domestic Shorthair

About

Little Toby, aka Runty, was born into a cat colony in Crown Heights to a littler of 5 boys! Runty follows his big brother. Toby MeowGuire everywhere he goes. When Toby take a step, Runty takes a step. They are very bonded.

The streets of Crown Heights were too rough for Runty. Some disgruntled residents threatened to poison the cats, so the colony caretaker didn't have the heart to put him out into the streets after he was neutered and vaccinated. He is currently being fostered along with his 4 brothers.

Runty is playful and sweet. He loves everything his big brother does. They play together, sleep together, groom each other, and eat together. Runty has a healthy appetite, but he is the runt of the litter, and will probably always be small. Runty will be a wonderful addition to a loving home preferable with his big brother Toby, or with another cat.

Shelter Description

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
