Gonch was an owner surrender from California who was a beloved family dog, until he lost his sight. He was then surrendered to the local county shelter. And of course, Saving Paws could not let this fellow
stay in the shelter and contend with an uncertain future.
This guy is as sweet as they come. He is currently under evaluation to see if he’ll be eligible for surgery to help restore his eyesight. Gonch has severe cataracts and our vets have suggested further evaluation and treatment with an eye specialist. But, even if surgery isn’t a possibility, Gonch deserves a wonderful
home where he is loved and taken care of. You can tell this boy misses having a family. He looked so lonely when he first arrived. Our volunteers have been spending lots of time with him, and they make sure he knows he hasn’t been forgotten. Gonch hasn’t yet adjusted completely to losing his sight, so he will need a home with a patient family, and no unfenced pool, that will help him learn his way around. Gonch doesn’t let his blindness stop him at all. He loves to go for long walks with our volunteers and sometimes stands to let the wind blow though his coat and enjoy the weather. He previously lived with children, so he should be fine with kids. However, since he can’t see, older
children might be best, so he doesn’t have to worry about knocking over a toddler. Gonch is a really sweet, easy going guy. He wants nothing more than a family to love him, a soft bed to sleep in and some walks in the beautiful Arizona weather. If you can give Gonch a home, please fill out our online application
to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full
-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
