Adopt Dixie II

Female Labrador Retriever /German Shepherd Dog

Darling Dixie! This beauty is a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix who was injured and rescued from the local shelter! She’s being treated and healing up in a loving foster home, waiting for her furever family!

Dixie has had a tough past! She sustained a pelvic injury after being hit by a car, but had surgery in repair in September. She has healed well but due to some compacting of her colon, she needs to keep with a high fiber diet. Dixie is truly a strong girl, still eager to please and be playful. And despite her hardships, she is an affectionate girl who likes belly rubs, getting brushed, and play tug

Dixie would be a good family dog, with a dog playmate or as a single pup. She likes to be outside, so a backyard would be ideal. She is currently not getting as much activity due to her injury, but she does enjoy getting out for walks or taking trips to the dog park. Dixie is house trained and crate trained, but she prefers to be in a larger pen instead of a crate.

This remarkable girl would truly love the chance to meet you, and be a part of your family. Apply to adopt Dixie today!
