You’d better avert your eyes! This handsome fellow is a serial heart stealer. One look and you’re at risk of true love.
Exploring the streets of Philadelphia and making new friends along the way are some of Gizmo’s favorite pastimes, and he’ll even do a little jogging if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s pretty much guaranteed that every time you enter the room you will be greeted by your best friend, grinning from little ear to little ear. At home he enjoys munching on his foster brother’s toys and resting his head in your lap, looking up at you as if you are the best thing since sliced beef.
Gizmo spent the first 11 years of his life in a loving home, but recently found himself in the shelter at no fault of his own. We couldn’t bear to see him spend another day there, so we scooped him up and welcomed him to City of Elderly Love! Don’t let the numbers fool you, for an older guy, he’s got a lot of spunk. And on the plus side, spending 11 years accustomed to home-living has made him quite the gentleman. Not only is he house-trained, but he responds to a number of commands as well! He has also spent his years in both his former home and his foster home living with other dogs (both large and small) and cats. He would also do well with older children who have experience playing with larger dogs (he can get a little mouthy when excited).
Due to early-stage arthritis in his lower back (for which he takes pain medication with his breakfast and dinner) he is not the biggest fan of stairs. This is not a deal-breaker, however, as he does well with a little butt-boost and loving encouragement when faced with a staircase. He promises to return the love and care once you’ve made it up!
Affectionate, handsome, with a sense of humor… Everybody needs a guy like Gizmo in their life! Cross paths even for a minute and you’ll know why.
