Holy guacamole, look at this gorgeous girl! Molly is a 50 lb. 6-8 year old Black Lab who was originally found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to the animal control shelter. Unfortunately, no one seemed to be looking for this wonderful dog so City of Elderly Love stepped up to save her life!
Molly has been in foster care with COEL since December where her health has been carefully watched. Molly came to the shelter with what appeared to be a tumor near her anus. Fortunately, the mass does not cause her any trouble besides needing her anal glands expressed regularly and it has not grown in size or shape since coming to the rescue. So while its hard to rule out it being a perineal sarcoma without risky surgery, Molly's blood work has remained within normal limits and her recent x-rays showed that she was clear of any possible metastasization. Our vets assured us that Molly is very deserving of a loving forever home and that there's no reason not to help her land one!
Molly has been living with other dogs in her foster home and recently began living with cats - not surprisingly, she gets along great with everyone! She's an easy-going, clumsy girl who loves to play fetch, sometimes trips over her own long legs because she loves prancing around, and turns into a puppy when given a squeaky toy (she also babies her toys so they last)! At the same time, she's housebroken and does well when home alone while you're at work and does not jump up on the furniture. Molly loves the same things Labs are famous for... she likes walks and she walks at a heel at your side, she doesn't pull a leash, and she is excited to see you when you get home! She adores meeting people of all shapes, sizes and ages, children included!
Molly is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also heartworm and lymes disease negative. Interested in adopting her?
