Cookie is a Wonder! She survived a fall from a 4th story window (her pelvis, sacrum, hips and tail were shattered) but this girl’s spirit is HUGE and could not be broken! Cookie is friendly, loving and ever so sweet.
Cookie is a very very sweet girl who bonds very quickly with people, and loves to give affection. She does not have complete use of her back legs and goes to therapy 3 days a week at CARE (California Animal Rehabilitation) in West Los Angeles. Her long term prognosis is uncertain as we feel she will require permanent assistance, but she has great equipment to help and has been making amazing progress (she stands when she eats!).
She has been in foster and we are able to equip a foster or adopter with the education needed. She is fitted with a cart to help with her mobility, and uses it to go no 20 min walks in it twice a day only She also has a nice stroller which she thoroughly enjoys and feels very comfortable in both in the home (rather than a crate) as well as outdoors for a nice walk or outing. It is fantastic to use in the home. She also has a little sling pouch which is helpful to carry her around as she loves being with her human friend and enjoys the outdoors.
There are some home exercises that are done when she is not at CARE which help stimulate her hind legs and nerves, but are easily done while cuddling and snuggling on your lap. She goes potty on her own, and can use pee pads for both .
She is a fantastic little girl (everyone who meets her feels the same way) and is looking for her forever home where she can be loved and attached to that very special human friend.

All of our amazing dogs are fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.
Not 100% certain whether you're ready to commit to pet ownership? Consider fostering one of our amazing dogs. It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle! If you know you can't be a forever owner but want to help out and get a little puppy love in return, this may be just the thing for you!
All supplies, food and veterinary care are provided to the foster by the rescue. No costs involved to you - just provide a safe and loving environment and we will do the rest! Fostering can be as short- or long-term as you would like, and we can place dogs with you that are conducive to your lifestyle and preferences (small, large, hypoallergenic, etc.)
