Phoenix, Maryland Hi everyone! My name is NEKO and boy, would I love to meet you!! I may act a little timid at first, but give me a couple minutes and a few pats on the head, and I will be your new BFF! Which makes it hard for most people to understand how a nice guy like me, only 3 years old (and a lean 46 pounds) ended up at the shelter, on the euthanasia list~ but fortunately I was given a second shot at life, and now I am ready to start the next chapter! I’m a social guy- I like to be in the company of others! I am very loyal and loving to my family. Kids? They are the greatest! I am very protective of my young family members, and I know that the smaller they are, the gentler I have to be with them. I do love my family! Even though my name means “cat” in Japanese, I haven’t really been around them, so I probably shouldn’t go to a home with them. I’ve been around other dogs though, and do well with friendly females and submissive males. Not only am I easy on the eyes (yes- I really AM handsome!), but I am a pretty smart guy too! I am potty trained and walk nicely on the leash. I know how to ask nicely for petting and snuggles! My current foster mom says I am the perfect balance of energy! I can be very playful when an exciting game of tug of war is offered, or a ball is tossed- seriously, who can pass on a game of fetch?! But I can also easily wind down and snuggle up next to you as we settle in for the night. If you couldn’t tell yet, I am a total family guy, and I really hope to be a part of yours someday! I will do best in a family with strong pack leaders, that way, I don’t have to feel the need to take control. I can relax and be the awesome companion that I was meant to be! So why don’t you please ask about me today! My foster mom says I am a GREAT, GREAT boy! It is SO true! I am really ready to find my forever home! I hope you will consider me! ------------------------------------------------------------- Neko is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped!
