andoned on a street corner, lovable and loyal Benson is in need of a forever home who will never leave him. Imagine how scary it is for a dog to find himself alone on a busy street. Now imagine that dog is blind. Sweet blind Benson sat in the same spot for a week, hopeful and waiting for his people to return. Thankfully, Benson was rescued or he might still be sitting on the street corner or maybe even worse.
Benson is safe with the Mutt Scouts now. He is an affectionate good natured dog who seems so grateful to be cared for. He loves being pet and does a happy dance with full body wag when he hears people approach. He is equally happy just to hang out on the soft grass chewing a bone or tossing a toy into the air.
We think Benson is a lab/shepherd mix. The vet said he is 10 years old but he seems younger so we aren't quite sure. He loves going for walks and shows no signs of stiffness. Benson gets along with other dogs and seems to ignore cats.
We would love for Benson to find a forever home to treasure him and be worthy of his loving devotion. He has had a hard life. We want everything in his future to be wonderful and easy.
If you cannot give Benson a home but would like to help, please consider making a small donation to the Mutt Scouts to help with his care.

All of our amazing dogs are fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.
Not 100% certain whether you're ready to commit to pet ownership? Consider fostering one of our amazing dogs. It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle! If you know you can't be a forever owner but want to help out and get a little puppy love in return, this may be just the thing for you!
All supplies, food and veterinary care are provided to the foster by the rescue. No costs involved to you - just provide a safe and loving environment and we will do the rest! Fostering can be as short- or long-term as you would like, and we can place dogs with you that are conducive to your lifestyle and preferences (small, large, hypoallergenic, etc.)
