We were introduced to Whitman through a local cat lover who would feed a group of stray kitties in her neighborhood. She said Whitman was always so sweet and innocent, almost to a fault. He was clearly hungry yet would defer to the other cats and accept any abuse they threw his way without ever fighting back. He would never be deterred though, always coming back joyfully waiting for treats no matter how the other cats treated him. On leaving the street life, Whitman entered Le Cat Cafe and has settled in wonderfully! Initially he was shy and maintained his excessively deferential qualities. He spent the first few weeks never venturing out of the basement. But he eventually started making friends and standing up for himself. He gained a ton of weight and is now a mainstay of the cafe. He is often a protector of the other tinier cats. He will never fight but just walk toward any cat spats and loom over the scene until everyone walks away. He will occasionally wrestle with his cafe friends. That, however, is the extent of his playing. He has never been interested in a single toy. Not once. Not ever. Instead he prefers the nap life. He loves jumping in a lap and curling up for some well deserved rest while you rub his head and enjoy his incredibly soft fur. He also likes sleeping in what appear to be strangely uncomfortable places. Despite the many cat beds and pillows, he likes sleeping in a tiny scratching board he can just barely fit in to.
He is neutered and FeLV/FIV negative.
