As Cove's foster mom, I am so happy to introduce this great dog to you! He is a wonderful and affectionate boy, and is ready to find his forever home. Cove is extremely loving. He wants to be by your side and loved constantly. He is sweet and kind, and only having three legs does not bother him at all. He is not as active as other dogs, as he gets tired having to jump on his front foot a lot, but he is still a puppy at heart. Cove will be fun to train, as he is very motivated by food. Offer him a treat, and you have his full attention! He is housebroken, and is very reliable about letting you know when he needs to go outside and potty. Cove gets along great with other dogs, but may not be as active as them. He would do best in a single dog home, or with an older, more relaxed dog that only wants to play a little. He is currently living with a 7-year-old female German Shepherd, and they get along just fine. Cove would do best with a female dog, as he doesn't socialize as smoothly with other males. Cove is great company to have around, and settles into his new surroundings quickly and easily. If you are looking for an intelligent and loving companion, who wants so much to be your new best friend, then sweet Cove just might be the one for you.

Greater Houston German Shepherd Dog Rescue
GHGSDR volunteers are dedicated to saving as many German Shepherds in the Greater Houston Metro area as humanly possible - based on current resources of available foster homes, the rate at which we can find suitably matched adoptive homes, and of course, financial resources for veterinary care.
GHGSDR Shepherds mostly come from animal shelters where they are awaiting euthanasia. All of these Shepherd Dogs need loving, forever homes and families to call their own. We have several GSDs available for adoption and we regularly take in more Shepherds under our wings and into our Rescue Program, increasing the numbers of dogs available for adoption. Whenever we can, we also work with other dog rescue groups in Texas and nationwide to help ensure the safety and security of these wonderful animals.

On our homepage we list the names of the dogs that are expected to be at the event - check 1 or 2 days before the event.
We hope that you will come on out and meet some of our wonderful GSDs. Meet our volunteers and learn more about why GSDs are a wonderful breed!
See you there!
