About

KenMarRescue.org

Hi! My name is Carter and I am an adorable 2 year, 14 lbs., small neutered terrier. I am up to date with all of my shots and microchipped.

I am affectionate, love to cuddle, but most of all enjoy the company of my humans. I am learning to walk well on leash and my foster mom takes me on new adventures everyday to help me feel more comfortable in new situations, especially when I encounter other dogs on leash that I might not know. I am learning that meeting new dogs on walks can be a fun and joyful experience and am grateful to have patient humans teaching me the right way to become a good canine citizen.

I was a stray on the streets of South Los Angeles and a Good Samaritan brought me into a city shelter. When I was available to be rescued, the kind folks at Ken-Mar Rescue scooped me right up and took me straight to their vet where I had a nose to tail check up. I have no known medical issues.

I am currently in foster care with my foster mom living in a very pet friendly apartment complex.

I am full grown and am looking for my forever family. I recently got my summer shave puppy cut at the groomer. You can see the "before and after" pictures on my profile.

The ideal home for me would include:

1. A loving family that would take me on walks twice a day so I can relieve myself and go on adventures.
2. Canine or human siblings that are gentle and friendly.
3. A place to love and be loved.

Shelter Description

Who We Are
Ken-Mar Rescue is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. Our dogs are rescued from pounds & from various situations of abandonment, neglect & cruelty. While in our care, each dog is given the love & attention they need to be adopted into a new permanent home. Each dog is sterilized, shots brought up to date & other medical treatment as needed. All orphans are groomed, well fed, exercised & socialized so as to prepare them for adoption. We have found homes for hundreds of dogs.

We want to ensure that all of our dogs go to wonderful, loving, new, permanent homes. We work hard to find the best home for each individual dog, to create a lasting “love connection” between adopter and pet. To that end, all potential adopters are carefully screened through our application process. We ask an adoption donation for each of our dogs. Every dog is spayed or neutered, given vaccinations, microchipped, and provided with any other necessary medical treatment before they go to their new home. We deliver each dog personally, and conduct a home check with each adoption.

You too can help save a dog's life!
