Lani is a very personable dog who would enjoy a lot of attention and love from her forever humans. The first thing that we noticed about Lani is her beautiful and soft coat and very friendly demeanor. She is a sweetheart for sure! She is always trying to share her love and kisses with us, and plays easily with her canine foster brother. We have two cats, and Lani gets excited when the cats appear. But, she is not aggressive towards our cats. Lani likes to play, but she can be quite the "lap dog" as well! So far, we have noted that she enjoys treats and tennis balls.
We have also noticed that Lani seems worried that we are going to leave her. She sometimes gets restless and does not lay down easily. When she does rest, she would be awakened by every movement that we make. She is quickly on her feet, pacing the room, or following us around the house. She also whines and barks (very briefly) when we leave the house or to a place where she cannot follow. But, we feel that these behaviors will eventually be resolved with time and reassurance that the humans will return.
Lani is a very versatile girl, as she is great with children of all ages, and has lots of energy to play with other large and small dogs (but is never aggressive). She is curious about cats and may want to chase, but she is never aggressive with them.
Any human with love to give will receive double the amount in return from sweet, beautiful Lani. Please set up a time to meet her!

Greater Houston German Shepherd Dog Rescue
GHGSDR volunteers are dedicated to saving as many German Shepherds in the Greater Houston Metro area as humanly possible - based on current resources of available foster homes, the rate at which we can find suitably matched adoptive homes, and of course, financial resources for veterinary care.
GHGSDR Shepherds mostly come from animal shelters where they are awaiting euthanasia. All of these Shepherd Dogs need loving, forever homes and families to call their own. We have several GSDs available for adoption and we regularly take in more Shepherds under our wings and into our Rescue Program, increasing the numbers of dogs available for adoption. Whenever we can, we also work with other dog rescue groups in Texas and nationwide to help ensure the safety and security of these wonderful animals.
