Adopt Penny

Female Domestic Shorthair

Ms. Penny and her baby son, Skippy, are looking for a loving home where they can live together.  Ms. P was lost and lived in the mean streets of Brooklyn for months before being rescued by a kind soul who let her shelter in her car till she found a foster home.  By that time, however, Penny was very pregnant.  Now she has little Skippy and she is a wonderful, very devoted mom.  She's afraid of other cats, except Skippy, of course.  She'll love napping in your lap and snuggling with little Skippy.  He is exceptionally cute, as you can see from his pictures, and a very loving and playful kitten.
Make a play-date with them in their Vinegar Hill foster home (718 625-6569 or and prepare to fall in love

Shelter Description

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
