MaleDomestic Shorthair

About

Reuben is a mini panther, with silky, sleek fur. He is black with a white chest and three charming white toes. He and his brother, Jake (also available for adoption), love to play and chase all kinds of toys, wrestle together, and then take a nice long nap. Reuben is shy with new people, but loves other cats, so he could be a great buddy if you have a cat looking for a friend. He does like to be petted once he knows someone and feels comfortable. Reuben and Jake were living with some other cats in an industrial area of Brooklyn, so are still in the process of getting fully comfortable with people.

Reuben is neutered, up to date with vaccines, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Infinite Hope adopts out kittens in pairs or to a home where there's another animal for company.

Shelter Description

Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 1,000 animals in permanent and loving homes. Because we are an all volunteer organization 100% of our funds goes towards the housing, care and placement of our animals.

Our Board and volunteers donate their time and resources toward the cause of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals, eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City, and caring for special needs animals until a permanent or foster home can be found.

While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including a complete vet exam, spaying and neutering, (if 5 months of age or older) and testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV).

We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic at 390 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. In addition we have a foster network so that our animals can receive care and attention until we have placed them with a loving and permanent home.

All adopters are carefully screened. Volunteers spend time with potential adopters and available animals, to ensure a good match for all. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.

Shelter Driving Directions

Play dates with our animals are by appointment only. This may either be at a vet clinic or foster home depending on where the animal currently resides. If you are interested in adopting any of our animals please send us an email at: infinitehopeanimalrescue@gmail.com.

Manhattan, Brooklyn & Queens

Adoption Instructions

Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. All cats are vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and spay/neutered as part of adoption.

We require a donation of $150 per cat. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts.
