***Special Needs Dog***Aloha is still very much a puppy, but she does not get to act like it very often. She has had a rough start in life. Rescued from an abusive home in Georgia, taken to a kill shelter and then brought to New York where we had hoped to give her a new start. But Aloha is still struggling. Unfortunately, she has severe social anxiety and is also fearful of unexpected noises and movements.
Because of her this, especially her deep fear of people, she is extremely hard to walk and needs a home in the suburbs with a fenced in back yard, so she can be given adequate exercise.
Aloha is currently taking medication and working with a trainer on behavior modification. We have not yet found the right combination of therapies that will work for her, but we are dedicated to keeping her as happy as possible until the right adopter can be found for her. Aloha is not a fan of being swaddled by a Thundershirt or similar tools and homeopathic remedies have shown no results.
She is not destructive and has absolutely no issues with aggression.
Aloha has been taken in by several foster families, but she has proven to be overwhelming for all of them. Each time Aloha is re-homed, she becomes a little more anxious and untrusting. For that reason, we are looking for a very patient and dog experienced caretaker. Someone who is willing to find the right combination of remedies to provide her with a happy future, with the understanding that this may be very challenging.
We know Aloha can make someone a wonderful lifelong companion. She is comfortable in her current foster home and gets on well with the family dog, but city life continues to be a struggle for her. When she is home she is sweet, loving and very playful. She has stunning looks, including mismatched ears! She adores being with the people she trusts, has an interest in everything you are doing. She enjoys fluffy squeaker toys, bully sticks and playful wrestling with other dogs. Aloha is a real cuddle bug, who does not seem to understand that she is too big to be a lap-dog!
Pictures and videos of Aloha can be found on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
If you believe you can provide Aloha with the support and dedication she needs, please fill in an application to adopt on our website or email any questions to email@example.com

We are a new shelter (currently rescue group) and are looking for a location in Manhattan. We have just started rescuing cats and dogs and finding foster families for them until our shelter is built. We are a unique shelter, aiming to appeal to people who typically buy from pet stores and breeders. We will have a boutique as part of our shelter, all proceeds going back into the shelter (entirely nonprofit). We want to promote adoption in a positive and fun way. We have the same goal as other shelters- to find homeless dogs and cats their forever homes, but we want to change the stigma some people have towards shelters and its animals by creating a chic place that people will want to go to.
Shelter Driving Directions
Our animals are currently in foster homes, and we are organizing pop up store events so the animals can come and be seen.
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut; we would like to start pulling animals from municipal shelters in the south- we are connecting with some organizations
Fees: Cat Adoption fee $150; Dog Adoption fee $200
Here is a link to our adoption applications:
We also have an adoption contract that must be signed. I (as the Executive Director), must interview each person wanting to adopt an animal and go over their application with them in person.
We are a new organization and are trying to find a location. In the meantime, we are accepting applications for fosters and adopters and have started rescuing cats and dogs.
