Adopt Thor

Male American Bulldog /American Staffordshire Terrier

THOR is unlike any other. Epic Survivor and Class Clown all rolled into one. He has inspired thousands of people worldwide with his determination to survive retaining his kindest and most positive attitude after the long journey from Mexico and through successful rehabilitation.
Thor is looking for his right-fit person or Family. This charming pup is about five years old, and attends California Animal Rehabilitation - CARE (in Santa Monica) two days a week. There Dr. Waldman and her staff have made miracle strides in this boy's Life - such tremendous strides that he is walking and with proper attention, will continue to improve his independent abilities. Two years ago, he was dragging his hind legs, and now he is able to walk independently. He will need to continue to go to CARE and can complete extra attention strength exercises at home, that CARE will teach his future adopter. Thor's right Family would be a home that can continue the both at CARE and at home. He can live with another mellow tempered dog with proper introduction, or could also be the only dog in the home, and is the most gentle soul we know. The REAL Bark will always be a part of the future care of THOR and be a giant resource for the great adopter he is looking for.

Adoption Instructions

All of our amazing dogs are fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.

Not 100% certain whether you're ready to commit to pet ownership? Consider fostering one of our amazing dogs. It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle! If you know you can't be a forever owner but want to help out and get a little puppy love in return, this may be just the thing for you!

All supplies, food and veterinary care are provided to the foster by the rescue. No costs involved to you - just provide a safe and loving environment and we will do the rest! Fostering can be as short- or long-term as you would like, and we can place dogs with you that are conducive to your lifestyle and preferences (small, large, hypoallergenic, etc.)
